September 2022
We moved my mom to Poets Walk in mid September. Since then, there has been a drastic drop in employees. Those who are left are doing their best to keep the residents taken care of and most of them are working above and beyond. Unfortunately, the level of quality care has dropped drastically and the residents are most often found sitting in mass staring at the tv or sleeping. Very little engagement because they simply don't have any activity coordinators on staff currently. The doors to the gardens are locked every time I go (because they "forget" to unlock them) which is incredibly frustrating because it was one of the big reasons we chose Poets Walk as my mom loves to sit outside. That should be a simple fix but it keeps happening. The saving grace of the experience my mom is having is her main care partner who just joined the staff, the staff nurse and the family/resident engagement coordinator. Unfortunately, there are 45+ residents and many times, the ratio of staff to residents is terrible. Especially on the weekends. Representatives from corporate are actively trying to "right the ship" and find employees, but for now, they do not have the ability to care adequately for the mind, body and spirits of their residents and should not be moving anyone else in until they get the situation under control. It is heartbreaking to see the residents "sleeping in their chairs" and not receiving the memory care that was promised by the sales team.

I’ve been working here since the start of 2021. This is hands down the best team that I’ve worked with and been a part of! It’s a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere to be in. Every department is filled with genuinely kind people which makes working here just that much better. Managers truly care about how each and every worker feels and is doing and about the staffs thoughts on how things could be improved or done differently. Plus working here is very rewarding and if you’re ever given the chance to work here do it especially if you want to make a difference and have the willingness to commit to the care and well being of not only the resident but the family members!

Dissatisfied with Mom's prior residence... we found Poet's Walk in Warrenton Va. And instantly Carol Rose made our Mom feel like she was home. She has been an Incredible conduit between our Mom and our crazy hectic world! She has been instrumental in keeping the residents safe during these difficult times. We do feel like Terry at the front desk, Jodi, Iro and Tracy are family. We highly recommend this Home!

Amazing Experience with the entire team. Excellent communication and a extremely engaged team. This is much appreciated especially during this time. I would not have my mom anywhere else

There is no harder job then caring for people in memory care, but these folks have my deepest affection. The culture of care is maintained by their original med-aid, Mimi - who does care for patient and family. And the new Nursing Director Lovelace is always available. Stacey comes with years of experience, deep knowledge and care, and innovation to entertain and maintain involvement (no easy task). But the nurses and caretakers like Melissa, Taylor and Randi - and the amazing Tierney whose comfort and caring helped me through many tough times (she will never know how much I appreciate her). In my heart, Gibran is family to me. These folks have the patience of a saint - and I really appreciate them. I love these folks - they will never know how much.

So far, so good. My family member has been here for 2 months and Im pleased. Never much of a talker, he has become more engaged and interested and I think it is because the staff really talks to the residents and cares for them. I like the all hands on deck approach that is obvious here. One day while having lunch with my family member, I noticed the executive director feeding a resident! Nothing is beneath him and all of his staff follows his lead. January 2019--dads been here 9 months and its now at a 2-3 star instead of 5. Staffing needs to increase to the level of care (Basic vs extended) for the residents they serve. They had a change in the DON in either June or July. Weve installed a camera (this is allowed) in dads room to monitor the activity and Ive asked for camera in the common rooms to monitor residents when they are alone (often in the evening when the staff is assisting other residents; the other night there were 8 residents in the TV room with no staff around). They need to increase the staffing so residents can be showered as promised, have their dental care morning and evening (takes 6 minutes for my dad to brush his teeth, wash his hands, and wash his face), toileted, etc. Fortunately, my dad is now with Hospice Austin which has increased the number of hours someone is caring for him. Increasing the pay for their direct caregivers would go far too. These men and women do a terrific job and should be compensated for it. Adding even $5-hour to their paycheck would do wonders.

Poets walk is a place with an atmosphere that exudes an abundance of care, love, and support for the family members and their love ones. The staff is polite, helpful, and very knowledgeable from the concierge to the cleaning staff. The building is very well maintained, and modernized. I would recommend Poets walk to anyone who is looking for a place that will take special care of your love one just as you would yourself.

This facility is great, it looks beautiful and its clean. The staff here are very friendly and actually seem to care. I would recommend here to anyone

My loved one could not have been in a better facility. The nursing team is top notch. They have a new director that started a few months ago. Initially i thought that this change would change the dynamic of the facility, however it hasnt. The staffs attentiveness and responsiveness are magnified and everyone has always had a smile on their face. Kelsy the social worker is extremely hands on! She is always engaged and going above a beyond. The head guy has been there from the start. Always present in the community and attentive to concerns. I felt inclined to write this review because I was bragging about this community to a colleague. I seen the negative review and wanted to share my continuous positive feedback. My mom one has been in two communities prior to moving here. The only bad thing I can say is that I wish they opened sooner. Lastly the food is great! Mom has always been a finicky eater but not here.

I have been at Poets Walk for a year and a half now working in different capacities throughout the community. There is an overwhelming love for our residents here. The management is very professional and cares about the residents as well as the staff. Monica our business office manager makes sure that things run smoothly and by the book. She has an open door policy and is always available. I have great respect for the director and the entire management team of Poets Walk Cedar Park, as there number one priority is the residents care and happiness. It is a great place to work but even more importantly I would put my own loved one here if needed. It is hard to see negative comments that do not add up to what I have personally seen here for over a year now, so I just wanted to take a minute and shine a light on all the people that work so hard to take care of all the wonderful residents here. Thank you

We were looking for an assisted living situation with memory care for our aunt. The Community Relations Counselors were extremely helpful. When we selected the facility, we had difficulty with getting all of our paperwork completed in order to expedite our aunts move before the Thanksgiving holiday. Our aunt lives far away from us, and we were trying to manage her care over long distance. Laura Quintanilla went above and beyond to help us on a Friday night well after hours. She faxed, emailed, and texted paperwork, called doctors and movers, and really worked very hard to help us make our aunts move as easy as possible. In addition, her associate, Robert Kurowski, was very accommodating and met us on a Saturday to ensure our aunt could be moved to the facility without any issues. Both Laura and Robert were kind, professional, and knowledgeable. We visited many homes, and this one was by far and away the one we liked best. No contest. Part of that was the staff. Everyone, from the custodian to the executive director, was friendly and welcoming. I observed a lot of interaction between the staff and residents, (some without their knowledge, ) and I was very pleased with how the staff treated the folks living at Poets Walk. I highly recommend this facility.

Nice facility great and responsive staff I would recommend.

I have been working for Poets Walk for about two weeks. Even though over the past year now I have visited the community frequently. Their love for the community and their residents are number one. I have seen many times our head bosses stand up and help us CNAs. Yes! Its hard to find great, careing staff that actually wants to work. But! This community pulls together in anytime to make sure our residents are number one. Mrs. Monica our Business Office Manager is very hands on. I see her more in the back checking on her workers and the residents then more in her office. The Community itself is just a open door and very caring.

I have been an employeed here at poets walk for a little over a year now and I absolutely love my job an the people that I work with. Yet the main highlight of this whole job is meeting the remarkable residence that we serve here at poets walk. I personally have never worked at a place where the management as well as all the staff are as involved with the residence as I have seen here at Poets walk. Im very pleased with the community and people that I work for here. The business manager Monica is outstanding anything that we may have a problem with or the residents may have a problem with we all know we can go to her for some type of solutions and she makes sure that germs percentages are down with Clorox wipes. I have seen her take the time to wipe down all railings and doors and handles of the community to keep the community safe from germs and bacteria. She goes above and beyond her job for our community.

The transition for my Aunt from living alone to Poets Walk has been amazing. It is a huge relief knowing she has such a caring staff to interact with. Literally an anxiety relief. And also an eye opener for me for assisted living facilities.

Wonderful place, plus the food excellent
May 2019
Its unfortunate to see some of the comments as my love one has been here for going on a year now and she loves it ! They take excellent care of her and she always tells me of the activitys she participates in. I wouldnt want her in the care of anyone else. She is comfortable, healthy, clean, and having a great time. Highly recommended!

The staff are wonderful and friendly. The facility is beautiful and clean. I would definitely recommend!
April 2019
I have worked here for 5 months as a Conceirge. The staff here work hand in hand to protect the privacy and wellbeing of the residents. I enjoy meeting the family member as they sign in to visit their love ones. The atmosphere is so calming here at Poets Walk Cedar Park. Our ED Gibran Chambers is truly the example of Team Role Model thats shown among each of us. If I had to summarize the employees -management engagement in one word it would truly be Family!! Were truly a family environment here is why I believe in my heart that families bring their love ones here in the first place. Monica Hamilton does an awesome job of making sure each of us understand our role here. Shes very firm in making sure we all understand our reasoning for being here and that is our Residents as well as their family members are our first PRIORITY no EXCEPTIONS.. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I absolutely love this place. There is no better feeling than knowing that your family is safe. My great aunt has been here for almost a year now. It was hard when we decided that she needed more than we were able to give at home. We did the tour and as overwhelming as it was, I felt slightly comforted. I knew the true test was once she was settled in. Its now 10 months later and my feelings remain the same. I want to thank the staff for caring and treating my aunt as their own. You guys are truly amazing.

I recently toured this building for placement for my mother. I was having a hard time making a decision in regards to what the next steps would be for her. This has been a hard pill to swallow knowing that we are at the point where we have to make these decisions, however every staff member from the director to the activities director, caregivers, and cooks made my decision just a little bit easier. Their smiles, warm words and even a hug made me feel like i was already apart of the family. Thank you for an amazing tour we are pretty sure when the time comes we will officially be apart of the Cedar Park.

For a while Ive been looking for an assisted living care that would allow my grandmother to be safe and comfortable. When my grandmother needed additional care i was confident that poets walk cedar park would be a great place for her to reside. It was a smooth transition and staff have made my grandmother feel right at home. I can honestly say that poets walk cedar park is immaculate day and night. I had looked into different facilities and none has ever came close to being this good. I love the fact that each staff member is very positive, upbeat and always helpful. My grandmother always tells me how much she loves the activities they have to entertain her. It is great to know that the staff takes their time to get to know her and always treat her with kindness and respect. If i honestly had to do it all over again i would definitely pick poets walk cedar park because they are the only ones so far that i trust with my grandmother. Thank you so much to the management and staff at poet walk cedar park, each of you create a really positive and safe environment.

I have worked here for almost a year. Its my first time working in this type of environment. I love it! I love coming to work and spending time with the residents. Its a fun place to be. Everyone is always helping each other .My boss Keith is great as well as the other managers.

I cant say enough good things about Poets Walk. We had mom in two facilities prior to Poets Walk and she was not doing well at all. We moved here here and shes thriving. The difference is the incredible staff and the holistic philosophy of care.
