I used to work here as the Med Tech and Charlotte and Ray are the absolute best! Best experience working for an employer so sad I moved.

Even though he lived here at Avalon only a short time before passing away, my father was well taken care of. The staff is dedicated and kind. During his first few days, Dad was disoriented and scared at times. The staff anticipated this and gave him extra time and attention, sometimes just sitting in his room with him, watching TV or reading aloud to him. When they were briefly locked down for a positive Covid test, the staff made sure each resident got extra attention. One young staff member spent an HOUR in my dad's room, helping me get the new TV set up! My family and I were free to come any time and we were always welcome to participate in whatever activity was at hand. Dad was always clean and his room and bedding always fresh. There is such a negative connotation with "putting your parents in a home" but that's unfortunate and unfair. The vast majority of people working in assisted living/memory care/nursing homes genuinely care for their residents, and treat them with kindness and gentleness. Besides, few and far between are those of us who can center their entire lives around physically caring for an elderly relative. My father, unfortunately, needed years of care before he passed. By allowing others like Avalon to help me with Dad's care, I was able to remain my father's daughter instead of becoming his nursemaid. I was able to avoid burnout, and able to walk in love alongside him during his final years. Avalon gave me that gift. Thank you, Avalon.

When it became obvious that I could no longer care for my husband at home myself we did a lot of research. Some years ago my father-in-law was in a memory care facility, and it was nowhere as nice as Avalon. We asked many questions and spoke to several different facilities. We spoke to our attorney that dealt in elder care. From him we learned what questions to ask and what to look for. The staff at Avalon was very caring and Jim soon adapted to living there. He even got gifts from the staff on his birthday. It was not a negative experience for him and for that we are so thankful.

Had to put my father here. They are a very caring helpful facility. Was extremely pleased with the care my father got. You will not regret putting your loved one here. Thank you Ray and Charlotte.

I was very pleased with the care my Mother received at Avalon. Ray and Charlotte are top notch professionals in the care that they give and the services they provide. Ruby (my Mother), made good friends there and shared their memories in a wonderful way. The care givers were exceptional, even the beautician! Avalon had musicians come in, singers sing and activities planned. I would recommend Avalon to anyone looking for a wonderful environment for their loved one!

If youre looking for excellent quality of care, the staff here will far surpass your expectations! Its never easy to place your mom-grandparent in a home but this is an amazing facility that go the extra mile to care for loved ones as if its their own family. Ive had my moms grandmother, my dads mother, and my husbands grandmother all live here when we no longer could care for them like they deserved. Nancy always keeps the (DAILY!) group activities lively and fun and meals are served family-style. The facility feels like an actual home and is always kept clean. My grandmother was recently put on hospice there and couldnt have asked for a more comfortable and friendly place for her to be during a hard time. The owners work there full-time to help with caregiving and ensure things are running smoothly. This is a truly special group and you will never find a better place for your family members to be!
