After a bad experience I developed a fear of dentists. The staff is outstanding and you can see how hard they all work for their patients to be comfortable and cared for in all ways possible. No complaints.

Every visit is so pleasurable. The residents are always happy and the entire staff treats them so well. Their residents are family there. The atmosphere is very upbeat and positive. The food is terrific and the place is very well staffed & always clean.

After my Father was diagnosed with dementia, I did not know what to do and did not think he would ever be as happy as he is now. Brookdale on Dowlen Oaks' staff works with me to make sure he is safe, healthy and happy. My father told me not too long ago how thankful and blessed he is to live at Brookdale. They help him with his medications, cook for him, clean his apartment and wash his clothes once a week. He also has more friends and goes to more social events then he has in years. Even though his dementia prevents him from living independently anymore, he still feels as if he has some independence and diginity. Please give this staff a raise!

Our parents' need of assisted living arose very suddenly. It is a difficult transition from house to apartment. The Care staff have shown reassuring patience, care, cleanliness, helpful orientation to shower operation, and humor. It has been an immense relief, that when it's time to take my leave, my parents aren't lacking comfort and confidence. I hope other residents' family members remember that they will see a better result equivalent to their own contribution. Please thank a staff member each time you come. I've seen BDO Care staff in action a lot, and they deserve to hear family members' appreciation daily.

I want to thank the staff at Brookdale Dowlen Oaks, especially those in the Memory Care Unit, of taking care of our Dad the last 2 years. They continually showed compassion, kindness, and most of all much patience with him. Dad left us June 17 and they have continued to be gracious and relaying kind words to us about him. We have become friends with so many of you and we will miss seeing your smiling faces. Thank you again!

I want to take a moment to, once again, thank the marvelous staff at Brookdale Dowlen Oaks for taking such good care of our Dad. The improvement in his care was noticeable immediately after we moved him there a little over a year ago. Sadly, he passed away today after having a stroke 10 days ago. All of the staff there were so good to him and us during these difficult days of watching him decline. They fed whichever one of us was there 3 meals a day, they allowed us to spend the nights in a room right next to Daddy's so we could be near him, their kindness was overwhelming! I would love to name names of these wonderful people but I am afraid I would leave someone out and hurt feelings. You know who you are and we cannot thank you enough for all you did. You are all a credit to your profession and will never be forgotten in the Dumas family. Thank you!

Brookdale Dowlen Oaks has been home to our mom for 8 1/2 years. She is very happy with her room and loves the view of the trees outside of her window. The staff At Dowlen is very kind, considerate and loving to her, which we appreciate very much. The facility is clean and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I am personally pleased with the care being given to our mom, and would recommend Brookdale Dowlen Oaks to anyone needing an Assisted Living Facility.

I have my mother in the memory unit and my father in the assisted living side. Both have been well taken care of the eight months we have been there. On the memory unit all the staff are friendly and helpful. My father visits her often being on the same campus. A plus in my book. She has been well looked after. Those that are able, go on outings off campus in addition to the activities they have during the day. She has maintained her weight so she must be eating well. She always seems happy when I visit. My father is on the assisted living side but really needs no real assistance. He says the food is great and plentiful. I have eaten there also and it really is pretty good. The new salad bar is a big hit. He knows all the staff by name and they respond back to him. He makes a point to be friendly. He walks and uses the exercise bike and plays bingo. His room fits his needs. Cable and internet are great. He enjoys the fellowship at mealtime. The facility has always been clean. The facility never has had a bad old person kind of smell. They clean the carpet regularly. The maintenance on the campus has been great. The two men that I see working are always making positive improvements to building. As the out of town daughter of two in Brookdale Dowlen Oaks I couldn't be happier. My parents are both happy and well fed and safe. Both parents have made the emergency trip to the hospital while there but it was managed well. I sleep well at night knowing that my parents are safe.
