I just wanted to recognize Shelly Herrera with Juniper Village. My father and God father have been there for years. Lee Posey and Jim Robinson…my father recently passed away and the care he received before and after is top notch. Shelly Herrera was on top of everything from dad's first day's till his last. After his passing Shelly arranged a memorial for my dad.it was so important that Shelly did the memorial at Juniper Village cause my God father Jim Robinson was able to attend. These two older men have been best of friends for all of my life. I'm 66 years old so forever. Shelly and staff have bent over backwards taking special care of Jim since he lost his best friend. I also wanted to recognize Nicole who was always there for all of the financial issues I had to deal with over time. Please give this facility a 5 STAR Rating from me.i am the proud son of Lee Posey. After touring several places I recently decided to move my mom into Juniper Village. The assisted living was very homey and had a great courtyard. My mom fell in love with the courtyard and we visit outside on a regular basis when I'm there. She really enjoys all the activities and she loves Shelly, the activity lady. Mom has started gaining weight because she likes the food. I have been concerned about her weight for some time. She has made friends, which has made the transition much easier and I feel so comforted in her moving into Juniper Village. The staff at Juniper really care and I appreciate everything they do for mom. Thanks to the entire staff!

My mom went to juniper village after a stay in the hospital. We got there late in the day and they got mom settled in nicely. The staff and facility were wonderful. Mom had a bad night and early in the morning she made the decision that she wanted to go home. As soon as I informed the staff they switched directions and helped me and mom with the transition. Hospice staff came and talked with mom and I and got us home and all set. The staff at juniper village were exceptional. From helping mom get comfortable to helping me get my food deliveries. In addition to mom not feeling well I had been through a week and a half with her in the hospital so I was a mess as well. They were very caring to both of us. I would recommend this facility and their outstanding staff for your rehab needs.

I have been a live music entertainer here for over 7 years, and what I see on every visit is smiling residents interacting with genuine, caring, and attentive staff, in a clean, safe, and inviting home. Having played at dozens of other facilities in the greater Austin area, I know it is rare to have an activities director stay in his-her position for longer than a year. Ms. Herrera, the life enrichment director, has thrived in her position in this facility for decades, yet finds every opportunity to share her genuine enthusiasm for life with residents, staff, and visitors (like me) alike. Her authenticity and spirit are the best representation of Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit, which in turn is the best representation of an assisted living and skilled nursing facility.

A smaller community that is full of employees that just love their residents, you can tell. My Dad was there both in Skilled Nursing directly after his stroke, and then in Assisted Living. Hes gone now. But when Mom needed a place, she wanted to be there. Shes been there about 3 years. She loves the people, the food, and the activities. And I love the fact everyone (from the Director on down) know her (and me). I can talk with them about anything. I know my Mom is in excellent and caring hands.

I have been volunteering at Juniper Village for over 15 years and have always enjoyed my visits! The residents and staff are beyond friendly and I consider them friends now. Shelly, Carla and everyone here are superb at their jobs and make sure residents are always taken care of and engaged in fun activities. My loved one is a current Assisted Living resident at Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit. The facility just recently changed management and the improvements are starting to show. They took a good look at the areas for improvements and are actively working on updating systems, improving the menu options and more. I have always felt the Assisted Living facility was top-notch but now that Im able to visit in person again after a year of absence due to Covid, Im impressed at how she was treated during my absence. The staff is friendly, hardworking and feel like family, they truly enjoy helping people and it shows. The true litmus test was during the pandemic, there were no major outbreaks and the management team keep us well informed on a weekly basis. I always felt my loved one was safe, that was such a comforting feeling. I would highly recommend the facility. My loved one is in the Assisted Living facility and I cant begin to express how impressed I have been with Brookdale at Spricewood Springs, Senior Living Facility. The biggest test a senior living facilities has had is during the Covid-19 pandemic and Brookdale at Spicewood Springs has stepped up to the challenge and has executed flawlessly. From the very beginning, very early on, they took the situation seriously and put all the precautions in place to keep the residence safe and healthy. They took the advice from the experts, locked things down quickly and effectively, screened their staff and screened residence when needed. The staff pays attention to every detail, from cleaning and meal preparation to nurse visits. And something that is often over looked in these situations is the activities director has done an amazing job keeping the spirits of the residence and staff at an incredible high and positive level. I could not be more thankful and blessed knowing my loved one is in such a well-run and managed facility. I would strongly recommend Brookdale at Spricewood Springs to anyone looking for an Assisted Living facility.

While I cannot say anything bad about the staffs integrity and character, there has been a marked decline in quality management under the Brookdale umbrella. Good staff, just not enough of them. Call light response times border on complete abandonment with wait times as much as 50 minutes and some residents claiming no response at all. With possible head injuries this is concerning. Often EMS can gain access to a residents room quicker than Brookdale Staff, yet private medical alert systems are prohibited within the facility. After a 13 year residency, it is not in the best interest of our loved one to move. Many calls to staff regarding concerns have been met with placating instead of resolve. Detailed documentation regarding these calls, including staff responses, is available. People considering Brookdale Spicewood Springs should press staff for a written commitment regarding call light response times. Further, families considering any Brookdale facility should also press for details regarding frequency and amounts of rent increases. Our monthly invoice amount for 1-01-15 care was $4,031; for 5-17-16 was $5,169; and currently is $5,458. Brookdale runs their facilities like a typical corporate environment—low overhead, more profit. This is having a noticeable unfavorable impact on resident care. Unfortunately weve moved into an era where vigilance is necessary in eldercare facilities.

The care she received was superb, they’ve brought “ the pep back in her step ” that she was missing. She’s the strongest that I have seen her in quite some time. They really know how to get you up, moving, and get you on with life. I could not have asked for anything better. Our praise is not enough to express our thankfulness. I specifically want to thank Christa Zieschang and her well trained staff of professionals who work so well together and genuinely care for each patient. In addition, I want to recognize Sydney and Nancy, and all the therapists and staff that were so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. There are no words to describe how wonderful they are. I am so grateful for everyone that helped her with the journey back to her norm. Usually I don’t write reviews but this is an exception that I must share. If you have a loved one and you’re looking for a skilled nursing rehab facility look no further, Brookdale is the best choice. Your loved one will be taken care of and not be forgotten. My husband has been at Brookdale for almost a year for skilled nursing for a broken femur and now in assisted living. Due to my health problems at present time, I am unable to help care for him. The entire staff of Brookdale are very friendly, caring, and interested in the welfare of their patients. There are weekly activities like bingo, educational programs, and social events with musical performances. The food is healthy with several choices each day. A beautiful outside courtyard with a turtle pond and colorful flowers allow patients to enjoy the outdoors..I can rest easy knowing my husband is here allowing me to handle my own health problems.

I moved my mother here from Florida and she was in terrible shape. She received such fantastic care we were able to move her into an assisted living facility near my home. The nurses were knowledgeable and easy to work with. The CNAs were attentive and the PT staff got her back on her feet and walking. The facility is clean and well kept. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

I just was discharged from Brookdale Spicewood Springs after 10 days of physical and occupational therapy following foot surgery. I have all good things to say about this facility and its staff. The facility itself is very clean, well-maintained, and very pleasant, especially the beautiful courtyard with a number of colorful birds, a couple of turtles, and a gray cat. They serve wholesome food in a pleasant dining room overlooking the courtyard. However, the best thing about this place is the incredible staff. These people are 100% dedicated to making sure that you make progress in your physical therapy goals. They go out of their way to work with patients, and their expertise is top-notch. I would especially like to call out Naomi, Rigo, Damon, Jenni, Nancy, Lisa, Sam, Derrelle, and Sidney, for their outstanding work and care for me during my stay. I am very thankful for the opportunity to have been treated by such caring people at such a wonderful place.
