I cannot say enough wonderful things about Brookdale North Austin. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the warmth, kindness, and genuine care that the staff provides every day. They treat residents with dignity, respect, and compassion, creating an environment where people truly feel valued and at home. The caregivers go above and beyond to make sure each resident is comfortable, happy, and well cared for. It is clear that this is more than just a job for them”it is a calling. The smiles, patience, and personal attention they give make a tremendous difference in the lives of the residents and their families. The facility is beautiful, clean, and welcoming, but what makes this place truly special is the people. Knowing that my mom is surrounded by such caring and dedicated individuals brings an incredible sense of peace and comfort. I would wholeheartedly recommend this community to anyone looking for a loving, supportive, and nurturing place for a family member.

My mom is a current resident. Constantly smells in the hallways. I've never encountered a friendly worker there. The front desk people are lovely, but whoever answers the phone is perpetually nasty. Although I know it's hard to find a good care facility, we expected more from this place for our mother.

It took me a few weeks to adjust from independent living to assisted living, but it was a necessity. I gradually began to adjust and to enjoy being here.

I recently took a client to tour Brookdale North ATX. It is truly a phenomenal community”one that stands out for its top-tier dedicated team. From the moment you walk in, you can feel how special this place is. The environment is warm, inviting, and designed with comfort. What truly makes Brookdale exceptional is the people, and Seana Wheeler is a perfect example of that. She is absolutely amazing”going above and beyond to ensure that every resident and family feels supported, valued, and cared for. Her kindness, dedication, and passion for what she does are evident in every interaction, making a real difference in the lives of those she serves. Thanks for all you do for our seniors!

My aunt moved to Brookdale in December from an independent living facilty. Unfortunately she passed away in January, but we thought the facilty was wonderful. The staff was so kind and helpful to her and to the family. I would highly recommend Brookdale North.

We were so scared about moving my mother into memory care. After meeting the wonderful staff and getting mom settled in, it was the best decision we couldve made. They made my mom feel like she was home. This is exactly where she needed to be. Thank you Brookdale North Austin for being so wonderful!

Brookdale North Austin has a great staff who care about the job that they do, and they have chosen to work there. Every person is willing to jump in and help cover other jobs if necessary due to an absence or being short staffed. There are lots of activities available. It’s truly a community with compassion and respect for the clients. The high level of responsibility and positivity trickles down from the director and the other leaders in the community. My family is completely happy with the care my loved one receives.

We love the Brookdale North Austin community. It is like a neighborhood of its own. Everyone knows each other. The staff have been there for years and are so amazingly kind and responsive. They know all the residents' needs and preferences. The Executive Director is amazing. Highly recommend this facility for your loved one.

I love this place. Everyone is so caring. My mother stayed here and only moved because she decided to move to California to be by the beach. But I liked it so much that I continued to volunteer there and recently moved my father-in-law there. Updated: My father-in-law was a totally different situation than my mother. My mother was pretty independent. My father-in-law was totally dependent. He just passed and again I can't say enough how wonderful the staff is there. So caring and always willing to work with you on issues. Updated again: My mother has been at Brookdale for a number of years and the best thing about it is still the staff. Everyone is wonderful! New update: I have had my father-in-law and my mother reside at Brookdale at different times over the past few years. I’ve always been impressed by the care the staff gives/gave them both. I believe everyone here truly cares about the residents.

Bare basics for memory care. Not ideal for memory care. My mother stayed here for about a year in memory care. Overall, IMHO this location was not ideal for memory care. There are some benefits but quite a few cons to having your loved one stay here. The benefits: The room is quite large, especially if your loved one has it to themselves. Private bathroom with shower. You will need to provide your own shower stool as the shower benches are slippery. You can also install a bidet on the toilet but good luck teaching the workers on how to use it. You can also install a small fridge for your loved ones food. After signing an agreement you can install cameras as well that has access to the WIFI (They do provide the password for you to add your cameras). You can also access the building at all hours of the day, even late night if you need. The Cons: Inconstant with cleaning. My loved one was wheelchair bound and There were times I found that the trash was not cleared out and when they took my loved one to the bathroom they didn't flush. I have found toilet paper on the floor as well. Sometimes they didn't change the mattress pads and left my loved one on the soiled sheets or took her to eat in soiled clothes. A few times they lost bottles of medication or forgot to give medication with no explanation why. Some of the staff can be a bit rough handling loved ones. Quite a few times, they failed to ensure my loved one would eat or even tell me that she did not eat. Sometimes she would miss a few meals. Not all the staff are trained to use a gait belt and were incorrectly carrying my mother and hurt her back. Late night calls to check on my mother when she needed to use the bathroom were slow enough that I literally drove down to the home 15 minutes away. Very few memory care activities. More often they would put the seniors in their wheelchairs and just have them face the TV and watch whatever the staff wanted to watch. Staff spent a lot of time gossiping about pay and on their phones. Staff is very defensive when corrected. Management slow to take action or train staff on issues. I observed staff yelling at memory care residents. If you decide to put your loved one here, put in cameras and monitor diligently. For the price, I would recommend home care and hire home nurses. While there are one or two good staffers many are not trained for memory care. I would not recommend if you are not monitoring or visiting often.

We placed my mom in March and have been very happy with her care. I have 4 siblings and we bug the staff a lot - they are responsive and helpful. It's clean, my mom likes the food, and we feel that she's safe there.

I was hesitant to place my mother in an assisted living facility, but had a friend whose mother was at Brookdale North Austin, and he was nothing but complimentary about the facility, the staff, and the care his mother was receiving. When it became obvious that my mother was going to need more assistance than my brothers and I could provide, we decided the time had come to find an assisted living facilty for her. On the advice of my friend, we scheduled a visit, and were pleased with what we saw. Within a week of the visit, we had my mother moved in, and had her apartment set up with her own furniture, family pictures, and everything else needed to make her place feel like home. She was also able to bring her dog, which has been a life saver during the covid pandemic. When the pandemic hit, and everything shut down, she had her dog for company. The staff also set up video calls with my mother so she could stay in touch with us, even though we could not visit her in person. The staff has been nothing but wonderful during the past 18-24 months during the lock down. I appreciate so much the work they do to keep my mother safe. My friend was right. This is a top notch facility, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for assisted living for a loved one.

I have been helping my mom for eight years. She has lived at several communities. She is a hoot, but can be challenging. Finding good memory care has been difficult. For the first time, I sleep at night without worrying if she is safe, comfortable and carefully looked after. She is happy here. The staff are really her friends. They are intelligent, loving, funny and the take their responsibilities very seriously. The director, Megan, and the medical supervisor, Erica, are the best I have ever seen. Medical supervision is excellent. The front desk staff is incredible. Caretakers are great. For us, this wonderful facility has been a needed godsend in Mom’s difficult life. This is what you hope for your loved one.

My family had to move my mother here during the start of COVID 19. Everyone was so kind during a very stressful time. The staff here has been so attentive and went out of their way to make my mom feel at ease. Anytime I have had a question, the response time has been fast, which I really appreciate, since there is still no visiting. I feel like Brookdale is doing everything they can to ensure the safety of everyone under their wing. Very grateful my mom has them looking out for her.

My mother lives there and she said the staff is wonderful! She said there are activities as well. The only thing she complians about is the food (and she's not the only one). There is no dietician there and the cook is very inexperienced. She noticed the staff brings their own lunches and she never sees them eat the food. It's frustrating that it costs so much to live there with virtually no reasonable food service. She has her own food in her room so survives that way. She's not a picky eater at all but said the tuna sandwiches are plain tuna on dry bread with a blob of mayo in the middle. The salad is a leaf of lettuce with a few shreds of carrots and half a cup of awful dressing. Only when the bananas turn black will they buy new ones. The apples are baking apples, not snacking apples. The only ice cream is vanilla. When you're elderly and the highlight of your day is food, this is pretty sad. If you are sick and they have to deliver a banana to your room they charge $10. Our only saving grace is that my sister lives right around the corner and takes excellent care of our mom.

OK peeps!! I'm giving it the highest rating possible and I have not even visited the facility yet. My mother passed away not too long ago and I have been donating certain items to different facilities. Living in Anderson Mill Brookdale North is just right down the road and it seemed like it would be a nice fit. However being Grandma Texas I do like to do my research on anything and everything I do. So I call today March 3rd 2019 and the sweetest gentleman on the other end I do believe his name is Christopher‘ in the memory Department— he's a really sweet kid we chatted about what I could possibly donate that they would accept I'm talking DVDs things of that nature. And as Christopher answered every question I could possibly come up with never once did I feel he was in a rush to cut me short to get off of the phone he was very personable knowledgeable and extremely kind-hearted. So one more time I shout out to Christopher in the memory Department at Brookdale North YOU ROCK And to tell you the truth Grandma Texas thinks that you should have a raise. y'all have a good afternoon now. And by the way I will be dropping off those DVDs and some nice comforters.

I moved my father here in September following the hurricane in Florida. He is so happy. The food and care are so much better than what he was receiving in Florida. The staff has been extremely helpful in getting him established. This was truly an answered prayer for us. I knew he needed to come to Austin so that I could manage his care without getting on a plane for every crisis and sickness. But I was fearful from visiting many Austin assisted living facilities that the cost would be so much higher than what we had been paying. Brookdale North Austin is perfect for us. And although I live in Northwest Hills I can get there in less than 15 minutes most of the time.
