I toured every facility in Austin, Texas, for my mother with dementia and am really glad that we chose Arden Courts, where she lived for the last 11 months. It is not the fanciest of places, but it is the best set up. The fancy facilities tuck their dementia patients in corners of other facilities. This place has room to wander and roam. While staffing is an issue at every single place in the USA, there are a lot of folks who have worked for many years at Arden Courts who set a tone for all staff that is good and caring, no matter how long they work there. I am so grateful to so many people at Arden Courts for the love and care they showed my mother, but also the attention they show to those folks who really don't have anyone. It's not unusual for a caretaker to say "I will get you a pair of warmer socks next time I came to work" or something similar. Once you place a loved one in memory care, I believe that you become a family and I say that with intention and love for the folks at Arden Courts. There are so many outstanding people there. Chevella and Terry at the front desk, Jennifer, Delinda, Rachel and Odessa in the nursing office. Val, Nadia, Teresa, Kandria, Jazzmyn, Clementine, Tracy, Cesar, and so many more doing the hard work of really caring for the people. (I am sorry for anyone I didn't mention by name!) The activities team, especially Nancy, are so gifted in keeping spirits lifted and the bodies moving. I feel so much gratitude.

My brother has been a resident of Arden Courts going on two months. Staff is attentive and kind towards him. Meals are substantial and well prepared. I feel that he is in a safe and secure environment. The nursing staff returns my emails and phone calls. Arden is an older building but I like its homey atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and kept clean. I made a good decision in choosing Arden for my brother.

Arden Courts has been great for my mother with severe memory loss. Their staff are caring and supportive and their whole facility/family is set up to accommodate residents who need help getting around and those who are relatively mobile and need to move both indoors and outside safely. Memory Care transitions are not easy but we've been happy with how the staff support each other and inclusively care for their residents.

Update: My dad passed away a couple of months ago and it left an empty place in my heart. However, if it had not been for the staff at Arden Courts, I really don't think I would have been emotionally in a good place, then or now. I have never seen such kindness, caring, love and compassion like I did while my father was there (and for my family), and when he passed away. They stayed with him, they cried with me and they held all of our hands and hearts through a very difficult time for us. I am not kidding when I say the entire staff are my extended family. They helped me immensely through his last days and even now too. I literally love all of them. Also, the smiles and the laughter and the joy they bring every single day to work, is in itself a gift. Not once did I see anyone ever be unkind or not smiling each and every day. Bless you Arden Courts! I will be Forever grateful. First of all, I needed to place my dad in a Memory Care home after his advance diagnosis, which is never easy for anyone. After interviewing multiple places and locations, I decided on Arden Courts. I cannot say enough good things about Brian (the Director) and his Entire staff. They went above and beyond anything I was expecting. I was already very emotional and only wanted to do the very best for my dad. Brian introduced me to several nurses (Odessa) who has been there for over 20 years and knows all of her patients and families inside and out. Ryan, who is another nurse that handles all the medications if you have any. I also met the activities director and even the Chef! Who makes everything from scratch. Let me repeat, all of these members have worked there for many, many years because they actually care about the people that they help take care of every day and the families. The Home "feels" like home. It is easy to maneuver around, clean, safe and there is a great walking trail outside and plenty of other outside space too )which many places did not have). I can't even list how cool the activities calendar is. Brian and his staff also made getting all of the paperwork together really easy, which is saying a lot. Update 2). My dad has adjusted so well and I cannot begin to express how comforting and happy that makes me. If you need a place to check out, I hope you will consider Arden Courts, it has been a godsend for all of us. Thank you, D.

After our mom passed in January, my brother and I needed to put Dad somewhere where he could get the care that he needed. He was diagnosed with Lowy Body Dementia and it escalated after mom's passing. We looked at several places and felt that Arden Courts was the best place for him. I cannot say enough good things about Brian (the Ex. Director) and his Entire staff. They went above and beyond anything I was expecting. Brian introduced us to several nurses and staff . Jennifer, one of the nurses that handles all the medications if you have any. I also met the activities director and even the Keith the Chef! Who makes everything from scratch. All of the staff have longevity and are very qualified to care for your loved one. The Home "feels" like home. It is easy to maneuver around, clean, safe and there is a great courtyard for them to walk in. Very secure all around the outside. They have a great activities calendar. Brian and his staff also made getting all of the paperwork together really easy, which is saying a lot. My dad has adjusted and I cannot begin to express how comforting and happy that makes me. If you need a place to check out, I hope you will consider Arden Courts.

To set some context, I had been a Caregiver for my Mother for the past 4-5 years even before her official diagnosis with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). I was the only she had as my Father passed away 5 years prior, and being the sole caregiver has been a very stressful experience. I had toured 6 communities in the previous month and Arden Courts felt the most welcoming and homely. The staff are super sweet and proactive in ensuring their dementia patients needs are met. It has been about three weeks since I transitioned my Mother into Memory Care, but she's been super happy there so far and I feel relieved knowing she is in a safe and positive environment where her needs are met. I cannot recommend Arden Courts Memory Care enough! They do an excellent job at being very hospitable and caring. Keep up the great work y'all!

I was hesitant to make the choice to put my mom in a care home because I had heard so many stories from friends on how you had to keep moving your loved one to different facilities for a variety of reasons. Mom has been there a year and every time I go I see the same residents and their families. So other families are pleased with Arden Court's too!The staff is so warm that it feels like family. The facility isn't modern or fancy like the new ones popping up but it doesn't matter. I prefer the feel like a 1970 ranch style home because it feels " homey" and warm and that's what my mom needs at this stage of life. All of the caregivers from the different wings know the residents and I love how animated they are when they see my mom. They take the time to make it fun and really care about the residents and it shows in many ways.

My Mom was a resident of Arden Courts, Austin, TX for over 3 years. I consider the staff at Arden memory care experts, always available to help or answer questions. They have been exceptionally caring, patient, kind and thoughtful during her stay. She wasn't an easy resident but they took her preferences into account. Day after day they made life better for both of us. The food is excellent. The activities are engaging and varied with plenty of space to safely walk around inside and out. Mom's wing was redecorated last summer, and the facility is clean. There is a core group of long-time, employees at Arden dedicated to making operations run as smoothly as possible – no matter what the situation. Through their extraordinary efforts my Mom survived illness, the COVID lockdowns, ice and snowstorms and various other random crises through the years. During Covid and continuing today most facilities are experiencing staffing shortages. In my opinion, caregivers can never be paid enough and being a truly outstanding caregiver is a special calling – not a job for just anyone. It is hard work. No facility is perfect but the employees at Arden are problem solvers that work as a team. Their work is not easy, but it is tremendously rewarding. I highly recommend and fully appreciate them for all that they have done for my Mom and my family.

My mother lived at Arden Courts for about 6 weeks before she passed away, but she received excellent care during her short stay. It was comforting to know that she was being looked after by kind and compassionate staff members. Everyone there seemed to truly care about the residents that they looked after. We always felt welcome in the community when we visited Mom. The final days on Mom's life were difficult, and we could tell how much her impending death impacted her caregivers. Staff members who weren't specifically assigned to her hallway were always checking in to see how she was doing once she was confined to bed. Arden Courts held a beautiful farewell ceremony as a send-off at the end of her life's journey. I would recommend Arden Courts to anyone looking for memory care for their loved one.

I love how this place puts on a public show but does not treat their employees fair. Yes Odessa went out of her way to make fun of me being homeless and going through hard times. She shared my hard times with another employee who let me know what was being said. She is nice to residents to keep her job but she is NOT the same with her employees unless she has a favorite and I'm going to call corporate and complain too.

What follows is a long narrative. The summary is: Arden Courts is now caring for my wife. I am extremely pleased with the care she gets there. If you have a loved one needing more care than you can give at home, I recommend you contact Arden Courts. It’s been three months since my precious wife became a resident at Arden Courts. Caring for her became very difficult and I needed a place that would care for her with compassion and competence. A memory care consultant made the recommendation of Arden Courts. The day came that we needed to bring my wife to AC. The staff, medical manager Odessa, was welcoming and the transition was peaceful. The intake process, with the necessary forms to read and sign wasn’t overwhelming and the staff patiently walked me through the process. During the first few day, I was comforted with activity photos texted to me by Trudy, activity director. The staff is very attentive to my wife’s condition and needs. As the decline progresses, they are proactive and work hard to anticipate needs. This is seen throughout the staff. Family of residents are also given the same care and consideration. After about a month of her residency, we had our 27th Anniversary. The staff, dietary and activity, prepared a place to enjoy a special lunch. That’s going the extra mile and was greatly appreciated. As I said earlier, I have no reservations to recommend Arden Courts.

We moved Mom into Arden Courts from another memory care place back in April. Best decision we made and wished we had done it months earlier! The staff was great, the food was great, and the nurses in charge were great. A shout out for Odessa and Barbara! Mom loved her Arden family.

The staff members at Arden Courts administer to their clients’ needs with close attention and loving care. Odessa is one of the best nurses I’ve encountered anywhere. Trudy is a top notch activities director who interacts with every client as a unique individual. She creates programs that keep the residents engaged throughout the day with entertaining programs and activities. The caregivers are also top notch. I highly recommend this community.

My family really appreciates the care and support that Arden Courts of Austin provides to our mom, especially during the pandemic. The staff are always courteous, professional, and helpful, and the nurses are excellent in offering advice that benefits mom at best. During the months when the facility is lockdown due to COVID-19, we can still maintain communication with mom via Facetime provided by the staff who are so patient and understanding. Arden Courts staff does not only focus on the residents, but also provides support to their families as well. Thanks.

Finding a facility where we could trust all the people who work there to provide safe, compassionate, knowledgeable, competent care for our dad was one of the most difficult, heart wrenching, frustrating experiences of our lives. The brilliant, loving man we had always known was no longer socially, cognitively, or emotionally predictable. After calling numerous places and asking the same tired questions, we happened upon Arden Courts. We often say this discovery was a God thing. Everyone we have met - the nurses, caregivers and their supervisor, cook, receptionists, director, marketing specialist, activity director, housekeepers, and office manager work hard to care for the residents and maintain positive communication with their families. We are encouraged to visit or call anytime.Often, it appears the person with dementishould be our only concern, but we have learned through this painful process that family caregivers are also often in great need of nurturing and support. Feeling lonely, yearning for what used to be, not understanding the behaviors of a loved one - these are things the employees of Arden Courts know about, and they caret is comforting to be reassured that, Its not your dad; its the disease.

Update: My father truly enjoys his home at Arden Courts, and it has proven to be the right choice for him. More than many of the other properties in this area, Arden is designed for the particular needs and preferences of active memory-care residents. The garden, porches and 1-4-mile walking paths are perfect for enjoying time outdoors. The staff is a varsity team of deeply caring and passionate professionals who love what they do. They are flawless at meeting the needs of each resident, while also relating to them above and beyond the dementia. If you have a loved one requiring this level of care, you need an interactive team approach, and Ive found that at Arden Courts. Our family is very grateful. We visited other impressive properties before placing our dad here. We chose it for the strategic design -- 100% secured, but still inviting and explorable both indoors and out. The cozy houses are unfailingly spotless. When I visit, theres usually something delicious-smelling cooking in the kitchen. The staff have been there for years and seem to truly enjoy working together, despite the total focus the job demands. They reach out as frequently as I do to share and request information that might make a difference in my fathers care. Its a relief to leave him in such attentive hands so that we can just enjoy going over to Dads.

My mother has been at Arden Court for 3 1-2 months. She had been to two other memory care centers where they were unable to care for her properly sending her to the hospital for further evaluations after only 2 weeks then saying she couldnt go back. I was so worried and scared for her as the Covid-19 virus had arrived and i was not able to be with her during the hospital stays and transitions to the memory care centers. The only communication I received was to tell me things my mother was doing that did not fit their protocol. It was harsh and so sad. She is 93 years old with short term memory loss and dementia. I was always pleased with the communication from the hospitals during this time of Covid-19 they too are heroes.Arden Court reviewed her case and accepted her once she had been tested for the virus and was negative. All that I was told was that the Arden Courts staff would be able to care for my mom and I didnt need to worry. I had not slept for so long just waiting for another dreaded phone call. Well the encouragement was correct. Arden Court was and is able to care for my 93 year old mother. In fact they are really enjoying her stories and humor. It did take a while but they knew how to communicate with her and how to redirect and help her get engaged in activities. I honor both my mom and her care givers. My mom for being able to get through each day without her short term memory and with dementia..it just has to be scary andconfusing to not remember anyone or what has happened during any moment of time. The caregivers for their dedication, education, great hearts, and love for their work and those they care for. I consider them all angels. I still have not seen my mom for more than 4 months and she doesnt seem to understand the face time. An occasional phone call is great when timing is right. Last week they emailed a moment where she was enjoying music and even dancing with her caregiver in the beautiful court yard. It was a wonderful surpriseI appreciate that they care for my mom to meet her needs and at the same time letting her feel loved and cared for and that she can still make choicesEvery day I am thankful for everyone caring for my mom at Arden Court. It is a true team. cant wait until I actually get to meet each of them and to be with my mom. My mom and her team are all my heroes. They are so brave.

Thank you all for being dedicated to caring for residents with memory care needs like my dad. This level of kindness and graciousness with staff towards residents and their families and staff amongst each other is refreshing and rare. We are very grateful to have found Arden Courts (just five minutes from our house) and my dads quality of life, as well as mine-my husbands, has dramatically improved over these past months since dad moved there in MarchI feel that the staff at Arden Courts Austin TRULY cares about its residents and their families! The caring people who work there serve selflessly as though it is their calling, not simply a job. They continue to amaze me going the extra mile, creatively engaging with my dad and all the residents. They really know him and treat him with dignity and respect -- hes not a number; hes family. Every single time I walk through the doors, the staff is friendly, welcoming, communicative with me, displaying a positive attitude and never making me feel like Im in the way or imposing when I ask a questionMy dad loves living at Arden Courts; his room is sunny with windows on two sides. It is always neat and clean when I visit (varied days and times of the week). Im grateful I dont smell unpleasant odors when I visit and usually, it is the smell of homemade lunch or dinner that wafts pleasantly through the halls. Dad eats well (and I did too at the new family welcome lunch) and he is typically clean-shaven, groomed, and in clean clothes. You can tell he really likes living at Arden Courts and often is eager to give me a tour as though it is my first visit there. He and I both love that there are outdoor walking paths where he can safely walk and get outdoors. That was a huge selling point for me so he wouldnt feel trapped or feel locked in with memory care but still be safe and well-looked-after.Since Arden Courts focuses on memory care and many members of staff have happily been there for over a decade, you really feel the high level of expertise, experience, and wisdom. You can also feel the dedication, passion, and love for providing the best care!

I placed my father at Arden Court in Dec 2018. They made the whole process of moving him there seamless welcomes us with open arms. Since then I have been so happy with the care he had received the way they communicate with me regarding anything about his care. They have activities for residents family. The food is outstanding. Hes put on weight (which he needed). They always look in on him when I cant be there to visit and Im so confident knowing hes in good hands. It has taken a huge weight off my shoulders allowed me to just spend time with my daddy without worrying about his care. I rarely give 5 star ratings to anything. Was Arden Courts perfect? No. But is any facility? All you can ask is that they do their best and this facility did just that to my great appreciation. My four sisters and I had concerns, multiple requests and were very involved during my mothers stay there in her final years which ended a few months ago. But I cant imagine a more caring, capable, and responsive facility than Arden Courts. The location was not convenient to me but I quickly learned to love the location. It is situated with several nearby parks where I often took my mother for walks. The facility is divided into 4 sections each with their own color-scheme and staff. One of the draws to this facility was the claim that they had a low turn-over rate in their staff. That turned out to be true and I never went into the facility without saying Hi to multiple people that made it a point to share experiences and moments with my mother that they had experienced. I often left Arden Courts thinking to myself the people that work there are Angels. I never felt anyone was there just to earn a paycheck. They deeply cared for the residents and the job they were doing to make them as comfortable as possible and make their stay as stimulating as possible. I highly recommend this place. It is a jewel among memory care facilities. My family was lucky to find this place for my mother.

I just LOVE this place! All places for memory care-assisted living can be scary, but this place has the layout decor-feel of a true home.Every wing is a different color scheme, and all items in your loved ones room is yours to keep (wow)! The staff are absolutely exceptional, each and every one. They take personal interest in your loved one, and you can be comfortable knowing that knowledgeable professionals are taking care of everything.Lots of activities every day, and they are resident oriented, so if the residents feel like doing something off the printed schedule, they will accommodate that desire. They keep residents engaged with stories, music, music therapy, games and live entertainment. They also handle the wanderers very well. With my bad memory, I might end up there some day myself - I would not mind at all!

  • Schedule a tour and visit the physical location to make sure community description is accurate.
  • Confirm with community manager that living and services required for you or your loved one's unique needs and budget are met.
  • Check with state government websites for additional provider licensing and information.

If there is any information that is inaccurate or needs to be updated, please contact Assisted Living Center.

Assisted Living Center uses the term "assisted living" or "personal care" to inform users that a community provides assistance with some Activities of Daily Living (ADL's). It may not meet your state's legal definition required for that level of care.
