If people only knew just a bit of what really goes on here the doors would be locked and be an empty building this review is coming from someone that needs to get out. Don't be fooled by what your greated with from the director she is the most fake person to be a director ever the staments and recordings people of how awful she can be to workers and residents would blow your mind everything will come to light .

Franklin Manor has been a blessing for our loved one. Losing independence is never easy, but we are thankful for this facility and the efforts made to ensure continued dignity, compassion, and comfort.

coffee to some because they do not like the person. Some employees just do not care about the residents at all and just see it as a job. If you plan on working here, just know there will be a lot of drama with your co-workers. They will talk badly behind your back. If they see you as a threat (aka better or more qualified at the job) they will try everything to get you to quit working there. You can try to tell upper management, but it really seems some of the employees run the show or have something over management. If you have never done this job, the training is subpar at most. Most people get into this career because of their heart and not pay and well, I felt like people here just saw a paycheck and made it their playground to bully you. Being a new worker there (even if you have way more qualifications there) the co-workers will treat you worse than dirt but be nice to your face. Also, do not ever question anything that goes on there like I did. I spoke up when I saw something not right. I also let families know when their relative wasn’t being treated like they should have been. (Some have memory issues) I actually have become really great friends with the residents there and their families and it broke my heart seeing employees (and even management) yell at them. The employees do not just want to sit with the residents and just talk to them. They have been very lonely durning covid and being stuck mostly in their rooms. Everyone just rushes so they can finish and go out and smoke or just sit down on their phones. I had to walk away from this job because it was either that or tell everyone just how I truly felt about them and how they ran this. We had one resident who broke her foot in many different places all because she clicked her bottom to go to the restroom and the employees on the clock at the time did not go help her. (She was having dizzy spells from her meds) She normally could do it on her own but needed help sometimes, and she tried to do so- and fell. If you want to put your loved one here- It is a nice place to live building wise. Nice rooms. Kept simi clean. (Never once saw anyone vacuum a room while there) They will have their hair done. The meals are okay (they don’t get many options nor have a say what they get), they will have PT if they need it from outside sources, make new friends, and honestly that’s all I can think of for that. You will be charged tooth and nail for everything. It’s extra if someone has to help tie a shoe one day, extra for tissue, extra for paper towels, extra for coffee, extra for snakes; pretty much extra for everything. So take that into count. Most facilities are NOT like that. It is one charge each month. Just being honest here and want the best for your loved one. I am not some jaded worker that use to work there, but just want you to be informed.

This is a uniquely wonderful place for the elderly. The manager is a kind, sympathetic, delightful person, and her personality filters down to her employees. I will never be able to express how loving and gentle the staff was with my mother. I can recommend Southern Manor without reservation.
