This place is understaffed and seriously needs to change that immediately as a whole lot of people here are not getting the care they deserve or the care they expected or the care they pay large amounts for. This place also needs more organization and to have areas used frequently wiped more often through the day like the tables used through the day. Health is a big part of healing. Nutrition is an even larger part of healing. This place hasn't given any focus on meals for its patients here. They also give the residents sweets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and sometimes 2 or 3 in one meal. This place does focus A LOT though on dessert and soda, which is very damaging to the human body and BRAIN....... Seems malicious......... This place also doesn't give nutritional meals. This place also serves everything in plastic that's been sitting in a heater, which is super toxic and more. If You have a friend here who can't feed their self, this place has no concern about that person's meals and will give them food they can't even eat or chew, or pickup. They need more people to help the elders too in the activities. If this place actually cared then they would have a higher focus on nutrition and healthy meals and meals set for the specific persons needs. This place also needs to help the people living here love more and to give them more interaction daily. Some are even left in bed most of the day, and that is just so sick in many ways, and they are also doing this to people who still have life. Some here are clearly depressed and just need more love and care and concern. Majority of the staff is super great, even though there are just a few lemons working there. Don't try to comment that U care, I've seen this horrible disgusting treatment in person at your facility. How terrible and wrong and sick............................. This place is supposed to care and the workers are paid to do a certain job so get those jobs done and done properly. I've also noticed some here and there people living there that need assistance while workers just "stand by." This place needs more staff IMMEDIATELY AND ASAP. There are many wonderful people that work here, but whoever is running this place needs to do better and get it together and do better as a person and as a whole and do better for the innocent beautiful people living here who trusted You with their wellbeing of being there. Don't be deceitful to these people as it will only bring bad karma to You from the universe. Treat the elders as You would want to be treated. Don't judge a book by its cover, looks can be deceiving. This place isn't fair to the residents or to the workers as they get the backlash from this place not being ran as it should and it also being UNDERSTAFFED. I gave 2 stars because of so many wonderful staff.

We just moved our mom into the Assisted Living residence. We’ve only been working with NHC CS for about a week and mom has been there just a few nights. But out of the gate our experience has been wonderful. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The staff are knowledgeable and relaxed and so easy to work with. Our mom’s apartment is spacious and has a lot of natural light. And so far, she’s happy with the food.which is a biggie for her!

My wife of almost 53 years fell and fractured her hip. With multiple problems, she was unable to recover. The entire staff at NHC Place was exceptional in her care and coordinating information and providing a plan for her attempted recovery. Alzheimer’s is never a welcomed disease. Thank you NHC for making her stay a reverent experience.

My husband needed a skilled unit for six weeks after his infected knee replacement implant was removed. My dad was in NHC in Lewisburg and received good care while there. NHC in Cool Springs had a room so we went there. The staff was great and Judith was his nurse most of the time. She was very caring and all the staff was attentive. The doctor's were there as soon as a problem arose. He received antibiotics via a PICC IV line every 8 hours. They have in house physical and occupational therapy but make sure your doctor sends an order if you have limits. In our case he couldn't put weight on his leg with a cement block in his knee. They have a gorgeous courtyard, dining room and facility. There are more great employees too many to name and also the Director.

my son was a patient for 3 months with various trips to the hospital for surgery which did not go well. NHC Cool Springs were so attentive to my son and my family, whatever he needed or whatever family needed - we got it! Caring techs, nurses, director of nursing (Kara & Kim) & staff, and Todd and Jayne. We were treated with respect and care. I cannot say enough about the techs & nursing staff and would love to give a shout out to Kate, Cassity, Kendall and others that I can't remember right off. The only reason we moved was due to distance from where our family lives. Love to all!!!

They did an excellent job getting my mom back to the best health possible in their skilled nursing. They would get 5 stars for that alone (but we've had issues with discharge...more on that later). Its expensive ($360/day which is about $11,000/month), but I guess you get what you pay for. My mom was ready to step down to assisted living/independent living, but the price was $5,800/month to stay at NHC. I knew it was not a price we could sustain long term, so I explored options outside of of NHC (and we found a more affordable option). She was discharged and had about 3 days of meds that she took with her. NHC said they called in a 30 day supply of medication, giving us time to see her PCP for refills. This is where all the issues begin (Rough timeline is below): Day 1 (Monday) - Discharge day, prescriptions are not ready - no big deal; Day 2 - (Kroger) pharmacist informs me he has deleted every prescription written by NHC cause they are all written wrong. Day 3 - NHC calls in another round of medicine after I submit an online complaint; Day 4- They have most of her meds (and just in time cause she runs out today), except NHC has failed to call them all in (or the pharmacist has lost them?), one of which I s a diuretic, needed to keep fluid off her heart; Day 5 - NHC once again tells me they will call in her missing scripts. Later that day, still no scripts (and its Friday mid-afternoon, so no one is answering at NHC but I leave a message). I keep checking over the weekend on the chance her missing scripts were called in. No luck. Day 8: (Monday) NHC calls the meds into a different pharmacy (Walgreens) because they say the original pharmacy must be losing the scripts. Day 9 (Tuesday): New pharmacy had no record of prescriptions for my mom, who has now been without her diuretic for 5 days. So, we finally got the scripts from a different provider. I often wonder if NHC punished me (and my mom by extension) for not keeping my mom in their facility? My mom received exceptional care while at NHC, but the discharge process was time consuming and stressful (because isn't the purpose of skilled nursing to set the patient up for success and not land them back in the hospital?). I’m hoping our discharge experience was a rare event. Originally submitted September 2023.

My mom was in the skilled nursing unit November and December 2022 she is 73 with Parkinson's and vertigo. She broke her hip and needed rehab. I can't say enough good things about the staff there . They cared for my mom like she was there mom. She left there better than she has been in years. They had a doctor come threw that really cared for her and all the nurses etc that helped her walk again and taught her many great things that she actually remembers about walking and when to do certain steps and when to take a break etc, I can't Remember everyone's name however the staff and business it's self is fantastic. I hope we never see that place again but if we need to i know where to go. Thanks sean g.

I cannot say enough good things about NHC Cool Springs. My 82 year old dad went there for rehab after spinal fusion on his neck. Everyone was wonderful from the social workers, therapy, nurses, techs and dietary (awesome food!). He was treated with respect every day and had everything he needed to return safely home. If he ever needed these services again, we would not hesitate to use NHC!!

The staff is very nice . My Dad is there now , each individual department calls me and gives me updates on his progress . I am a physician and I know this is excellent care and communication. He has had two stays here and the staff is committed to giving my Dad optimal care . Thanks for all you do !

My Mom stayed for Rehab and all the Staff seemed really nice and they even call me by name. I couldn't ask for better staff, The food they serve the patience is not all that good. The building seems really nice and well maintained, Its sorta confusing at first because all the hallways all look the same. I will miss the staff and some of the other patience I met and talked too. They became my second family and second home.

The personnel are very caring and generally attentive and willing to serve. Sometimes understaffing causes delays in unscheduled requests. The therapists have all been very competent and caring. The food choice and quality are definitely a positive.

This place is awesome, the people here are so nice willing to help in anyway. If you have to stay in a health center ya need to come here. I give it 5 stars.
