I would like to give my highest possible rating to the Village at Skyline Pines. They took care of my 93-yr-old mom in both Memory Care and on her final journey in Hospice. Both the administrative and day-to-day staff are wonderful! My mom was a very fussy eater and we knew that eating other than at home would be difficult for her. The food service was wonderful and the staff was always so excited to tell us that they had found something that she would eat. Everyone was so caring and professional and felt more like family than an institution. We cannot express how happy we are that we chose the Village to take care of my mom when we no longer could!

I moved my parents into this facility last August and have not regretted one single minute. The staff is caring, attentive, and professional - they treat the residents like family. My mother was worried that she wouldn't like the apartment but she quickly changed her mind. My father was adamant that he wasn't moving from his house and now he really enjoys all of the people that care for him. My mother recently passed and my father has decided that he likes the employees so much, he wants to stay there instead of moving closer to other family. If you are looking for a place for your parents to feel at home - this is the place!!

It's a very fun place to work and the Residents are great and fun to be around. I really enjoyed working there and having the opportunity to show the staff and residents what the dietary staff can accomplish when we are challenged with an assortment of random things. (Inclement weather). The management team are quick to help when and where unexpected surprises arise. I'm sad to leave The Village, and I hope the next place of employment I go to is as enjoyable as The Village at Skyline Pines.

The staff at the Village at Skyline Pines were a godsend for my family when we were trying to find a safe place for our mom who has early stage dementia. We felt mom was in a safe place, with staff who truly cared about her. We recently moved out of state and it warmed my heart to see staff coming up to her, hugging her and telling her how much they were going to miss her. She was treated with kindness, and dignity during her time there. She was well cared for in terms of medical support, nutrition and activities. I was always impressed with the thoroughness of the nursing team, and felt mom's health was being monitored for any changes, and calls to me to take her to urgent care, doctor or the ER were timely. Add to all of that the reasonableness of the pricing and the lovely setting and you have a recipe for excellent and affordable care. Mom misses her care team and her friends, and talks about them with fondness. A big thanks to Kelly, Alexis, Noah, and the entire team for taking such wonderful care of mom.

My mom has been in the memory care unit for 14 months. She went in unmedicated with moderate alzheimers and was angry, difficult to deal with and it was just hard for me as a caretaker and employed full time to give her the careand protection she needed with her having all these issues. I worked with BH advocate thru a very difficult process of getting guardianship and Jenny suggested the Village had a room. BH advocate and the village worked together for a smooth transition. Mom was NOT easy to manage in the beginning but they were prepared and were able to get her the help needed to live there. So fast forward to now- mom is happy, she likes it there. She does have moderate alzheimers but the staff has been nothing but caring to her and to other residents when i have been there. Mom is medicated but not to the point of being constantly sedated. I'm able to take her out for lunches. Dr Andrew that handles the case load there is great for understanding the level of care and voicing that to family. The administrator Kelli has been great to work with. I can send emails asking how mom is periodically and she responds right away. I feel comfortable not having to see mom constantly to make sure shes getting adequate care because i know she is. There are times when i take her out , they have her hair french braided. They have her nails done (which is kind of hilarious since she hated getting her nails done, but now its her thing lol) Mom has bad knees and does fall sometimes. They call me immediately. I like that mom has the freedom to move around and isn't tied to a room or a wheelchair. During covid they still allowed residents to walk around the memory care and I'm so thankful for that. I feel like i have a bit of knowledge about care in this area with my dad going into a different assisted living and then rehab and nursing home til he passed. The level of care here exceeds what he had.

This place was a blessing while my mother-in-law was independent. She loved her view from her window. There are many wonderful amenities and sweet staff in this beautiful building. If you are needing more assistance, such as more individual care 24/7, they don't have the manpower right now but I'm sure they will as they continue in the future. We are thankful we were able to take our loved one home to care for her in the end but will forever be thankful for this place. (Especially the unlimited amount of coffee available on the first and second floor ~ this brought so much joy)

The Team @ Villages, This note of appreciation includes all of You from Administrators, Front Desk, Nurses, Med Aids, Caregivers, Providers, Kitchen Staff, Laundry, Cleaning, Maintenance Crew, Activities Director and everyone who makes up the Team at the Village. Not sure I can find the words to express my experience of Mom and Dad living at The Village at Skyline Pines over the past 18 months and how it impacted our family. This Daughter of Pat and Barb Miller was NOT happy nor looking forward to Mom and Dads new home and way of life at the Villages. Well, once again I was mistaken about what this experience would turn out to be for us. I learned some of life's most valuable lessons this past 18 months and can honestly say I am so grateful and appreciative for the full circle of Mom and Dads life and the part you each played in the last part of their journey. As I watched you caring for Mom and Dad I experienced Gods love in a real tangible way. The unconditional love that you shared was so kind, so authentic, so fun, so gentle, so patient, so accepting, forgiving and nonjudgmental. You spent quality time with Dad, truly getting to know him and connecting with him in your own unique special way. All your stories about Pat your Patrick always blessed me when you shared them. This bond you formed with Dad gave me so much comfort, I knew he had you as friends and family when I couldn't be with him. Each of you have a special place in my heart filled with Gratitude for your compassionate way of caring for Mom and Dad. One of the things I never expected to happen was to build relationships with the residents living with Dad. I found myself looking forward to seeing them and bringing them treats. "Susie is that You?" I loved hearing Gail say that to me Donna latched onto my husband and wanted to marry him one night! Smart Lady, that Donna is. Charlie even painted a portrait of me in Memory Care while re painting the dinning area. So many fun memories with all of you! You can probable still hear me asking for a popsicle for Dad. The most precious moments for me, also totally unexpected from Mom and Dad living at Villages was when Mom passed and Dads last month of care. I had absolutely no idea how much I would need all of you during this time. Your presence and stories about Mom and Dad brought me so much joy and comfort. We laughed, we cried, you held me, you fed me, you listened, you forgave for my crazy moments, you stepped in when I needed to go and couldn't watch him slipping away. You held his hand, made him smile and looked into his baby blue eyes for me with love. @ 2:30 July 17 when I opened his door expecting to be overwhelmed with sadness instead I was overwhelmed with a tidal wave of your love and support. You were all with me at that moment physically or spiritually. I have no words for that moment and all the moments of talking with many of you over Dad's bed or sitting on Dads bed with you, - we shared deeply. I believe this is why I have no grief only love, gratitude and joy! You each have a special gift in your souls that I never new existed until The Villages at Skyline Pines became our home for Mom and Dad. The gift you have to love and care for another person while upholding them with dignity and respect. You make them feel important, heard realizing their feelings, learning about them and their lives. You make them feel important and that they matter in your life. You create experiences with them everyday to make them smile. Example Playing Kiss an Angel Good Morning for Dad so he enjoys his shower/bath time..... Your gift is that you do not see them without their full memory you see them as Gods Creation, fully alive and perfectly made just how they are for today. I hope and pray that you know how special this gift is and that you treasure it always. Mom and Dad's time at The Villages will always be some of my most treasured memories. Forever Grateful All my Respect Teresa

My Dad lived at The Village from almost the time it opened until October 2022 when he passed away at the age of 101. He was happy living there and loved "His Girls and Guys", which he called the nursing staff and housekeeping staff that cared for him. He also thought a lot of the young man who brought him his daily newspaper and mail and transported him to his doctor appointments. He spoke highly of the maintenance men who helped him with any issue he had in his apartment. They all not only cared for him but brought joy into his life, and for that, his family was very grateful. The nursing staff, especially the night nursing staff, were his earth angels during his final days of life. I felt they were earth angels for me also during that time. Dad was able to peacefully pass in his home which was his wish.

The Staff, Nurses, and Administrators are amazing! Whenever I needed help with something for my dad, they were right there to help me. Whenever dad had an appointment, they would transport him to and from his appointment for me (since he was in a wheelchair) I would just meet them there and take dad in for his appointment. One time I was told my dad was thinking about me that morning. I asked how she knew he did as my dad had severe dementia and rarely recognized me. She said he told her he couldn't go to breakfast because he had to get his daughter to school. I will cherish that memory. I thank you for all you did for my Daddy! Teresa

The staff and caregivers at The Village at Skyline Pines were so wonderful, kind, and helpful to our mother through her final days. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was safe and cared for. They got to know mom and what she liked, making this feel like her home. Everyone treated her with dignity and caring. The facility is beautiful and in a very peaceful setting. We could not have asked for better care.

My mom was a resident at The Village's memory care unit for 7 1/2 months before she passed away. My family and I were very pleased with the care that my mom received while she was there. The Village took my mom in when the nursing homes in Rapid City were unable to accept her and the family did not want to place her out of town, for which we as the family were very grateful for. The facility was neat and clean, the food was good and most importantly the residents were well cared for. The staff was pleasant, they were very good with my mom, they understood her, they were very attentive to her needs and helped to make her last days with us comfortable. I would highly recommend The Village's memory care unit for your loved one who is experiencing dementia or Alzheimer's

I needed a place for my mother to go for memory care and to move her into a place that I felt she would be taken care of. The Village at Skyline Pines and the staff there have been amazing! I have no worries about how my mother is being taken care of (as I live out-of-state) and the staff and administration keep me up to date on how she is doing and if she needs anything. I couldn't be happier about her care and where she is living!

We had a difficult decision to make when we realized that mom needed more care than we could provide. Kelli and team came to our rescue and have provided a safe, caring, attentive, comfortable and secure facility for mom. The staff has helped us all adjust to this change. Even when I can't be there in person, I can reach out to the staff at any time and find out how mom is doing. Thankful and appreciative for the services and care that they provide!

I would highly recommend the Village at Skyline Pines for memory care. My family experienced one of the most difficult years of our lives navigating my dad's diagnosis of dementia. But, through so much uncertainty, one thing I could be certain of is that he was getting the best care possible at the Village. Cory and Kelli Back are well-known in the area and have turned the Village into the very best facility there is. My thanks to them and their staff for showing true care and kindness to my dad, and helpful knowledge and support to my family.

We toured several facilities when it was time to move a relative into assisted living and The Village felt like the right fit. The staff was wonderful as they collaborated with various specialists for some unexpected medical issues and a transition to memory care. More than once, a message with an update from Kelli has been the most heartwarming part of my day. As out-of-state family, it's reassuring to know that the capable team at The Village is going the extra mile for our loved one while offering so much support to the family as well.

When I first started working here, I wasn't sure it was a fit for me but I stuck it out during the management change and Kelli and Cory have turned this place around. I used to get phone calls from angry family members trying to figure out what was going on here. Now, mostly everyone that calls is nice and polite. The care staff here do an amazing job with their everyday tasks and caring for our residents. It's like one big family here.

Took a tour and the staff were all wonderful! The facility is absolutely amazing! The residents all seemed happy and enjoying their time here. Unfortunately with the great facility it's very pricey as they don't accept my insurance and due to unforeseen circumstances we do not have long term care insurance. I can't afford to place my loved one here but I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone. It's an absolute must check in your decision making for your loved one.
