To: Covenant Place Corporate From: Joanne M. Crisman 906 Twin Lakes Drive, Sumter, Sc. 29154 Cell: 803-847-8910 On Monday, June 1st at 11:30AM, I was asked by a resident who lives there if I had seen her friend, Mary Jean Dowling, who also lives there. She told me that she had not seen her in 4 days. I told her that I would check on her after I delivered my client's lunch. I knock on Mary Jean’s door and there was no answer. There was a note on the door that read just sleeping, I left. At 1:25pm, I went to the lobby and I talked to the receptionist and asked, if she had seen Mary Jean Dowling. I told the receptionist I had not seen her in 21/2 days. She said, she would check but did not want to go by herself. The receptionist waited till the bus driver return from a run. I don’t know how long she waited. At 1:40pm, I went to the third floor; the receptionist and the bus driver were standing in the hallway in front of the missing resident’s door, which was opened. The housekeeper was in the room, she came out and said, yes, she is on the bathroom floor and left. I went into the room and touched her leg, she felt cold and stiff, I called her name and she was unresponsive. Then I called 911 at 1:42pm. The bus driver stood there, with phone in hand, and did nothing. I came out and the manager and another lady went into the room. The manager told me to tell 911, she was alive. I hung up and left. I went down to the lobby. An employee waved me into the office and told me she was calling the falling residents daughter. I said OK. I went to the porch trying to get a WIFI signal to clock out. The other receptionist that comes on duty at 2:00pm was standing at the front door waiting for the ambulance to come. The ambulance came and she went outside and wave to the ambulance to stop. The ambulance saw her and backed up. I went back into the lobby and finally got a signal and clocked out at 2:03pm. I called my husband at 2:05pm and let him know I was coming home. I was never told what the protocol is if covenant residences need help and what I was allowed to do to help. Later that night, at 4:15pm I was called by my manager, and she told me the manager that runs Covenant Place told her I was not allowed on the Covenant Place premises because I did not work for Covenant Place and I should not have gone into the room or called 911. I am supposed to just walk away, which I was never told that was the policies. My Boss and My Co-Workers all said that they would have called 911 also. I do not feel I was treated justly and I believe the Managers are not taking care of the residents living there properly. I believe the residents that live there are in danger. Sincerely, Joanne M. I was extremely impressed when I toured Covent Place. Having done alot of the buildings and my wife's grandfather being a resident there some years ago, I am very familiar with the grounds. They have gone above and beyond to make Covenet Place better then it ever has been. The living spaces are cozy and truly feel like home. The staff is superb simply said. I have no problem or worries in letting this facility take care of my grandmother whom took care of me.

My grandfather was at Covenant Place and we absolutely loved it. He was always smiling and happy every time we visited him. All the staff are excellent and now they have a new executive chef now and I went and visited the facility recently and they are remodeling the entire facility! It looks amazing!!

I would honestly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a home for their loved one. The process was easy, quick. The actual facility is clean and gives off such a great vibe. Most importantly everyone that works there are so nice, attentive, and caring.

I thoroughly enjoy working with the staff at Covenant Place. The front line staff as well as the Administrative staff are always willing to help if we have a need. I also love the warm cozy feel of the building which you don't always see in other facilities.

Covenant Place is under New Management . Covenant Place provide Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skill Nursing Care. The building is beautiful, remodeled,and offer a homelike setting in a welcoming community. Your love one(s) can retire in peace, live within a prestige community that can provide assistance to nursing care...The food is amazing!!

It’s taken a little bit longer than I expected to get my Mom enrolled due to some staffing changes. But, Kat has been working endlessly to get things handled and has been such an asset to me. She does what she says she’ll do, and calls with updates as needed! She is so understanding and caring.

Covington place nursing home they really take care of you better half this is one of the nice facilities they have in Sumter I would love to come here when I go to retire they have state-of-the-art rooms they have recreation they have sports they've always have some type of activity or fun games to play they always trying to keep the patients moving and trying to exercise their brain not only their body and if their motto is if you don't use it you will lose it

The staff at Covenant Place cared for both my parents up until their deaths in 2019. The staff were very caring and showed a great deal of compassion. The management was responsive to any problems and were easy to work with. I am so glad we had Covenant Place to help us care for my parents in their final years.
