My dad had a 3 week stay in the rehab facility and it was a wonderful experience for him and for me as his caregiver. EVERYONE was attentive and took the time to care and explain things. He was completely at peace from day one. Cannot say enough about this facility!!!

I cannot say enough great things about The Village of Summerville. After my mother suffered a fall, she spent time there receiving care, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her with genuine compassion, professionalism, and respect. They took the time to ensure she was comfortable, supported, and on the right path to recovery. It was clear that they truly care about their residents and patients, not just medically, but personally. The communication with our family was outstanding. We were kept informed, our questions were answered, and we always felt confident that she was in good hands. The facility itself was clean, exceptionally well-maintained, and created a welcoming environment. I highly recommend The Village of Summerville to anyone in need of quality rehabilitation or care for a loved one. We are incredibly grateful for the entire team especially Ashley Edwards and Vince Thurman.

I'm moved here after my wife died because the house was so empty. My daughter and son in law suggested "The Village". I came and visited. Everyone staff, residents were all so friendly. Since I moved here I am happy and surrounded by new friends, activities, wonderful surroundings, the food is good. Once a month we have "Fancy Dinning. In February we had filet, minion and a lobster tail. For dessert we had cream brulee. Every meal is not like that but they're good. We play games such as croquet, card games ( i didn't know some of the games, but they taught me) exercise classes. Let me close by saying I truly believe that the Good Lord means for me to be here and I am thankful to be here. Why don't you come join us?

Moving to The Village of Summerville Aug. 1, 2025 was my Best Decision! I had a small medical situation, and called the nurse, . Within 5 minutes there was a tap at my door and there was nurse Jesica, coming to check on me! She personally lined up the doctor for care A house call! This is just typical of the excellent prompt personal attention offered, from every staff person. As for activities, you can be as happily entertained as you like, or as private. The residents are friendly and interesting. I adore the large Library, also Books and Magazines all around every nook , all for the taking. A wide variety of delicious menus offer Breakfast , Lunch and Supper. My family is so relieved and grateful to know that I am well taken care of, and that I am beyond thrilled in my new forever home. I moved to a Patio House in The Village in May 2025. I immediately found a very welcoming and friendly community and staff. We have easy access to nearby shops, dining and healthcare. I had the privilege of speaking with a group of residents from The Village, and it was truly an incredible experience. The Village is an impressive community with far more amenities than I expected”clean, vibrant, and clearly a wonderful place to both work and live. I thoroughly enjoyed lunch with several of the ladies, who were welcoming, engaging, and a joy to spend time with. The food was excellent, and the entire event was exceptionally well done. I was very impressed with the facility and the overall experience. Great job to the faculty and staff of The Village, and I would be delighted to return anytime.

The Village @ Summerville is just a special place! I was honored to be involved in setting up a model patio home for this village and fell in love with the setting, location and amazing staff that worked with me in this process. Peaceful was the overall feeling from the time I drove in until I left. If you visit...you will understand and likely fall in love with the the village and Summerville. They also have a comfortable little house that provided such convenience for our stay...you should check it out if you need overnight accommodations...The Hay House was perfect!

I’ve spent a lot of time at The Village at Summerville over the past several months as my husband's company has been rehabing the cottages, and one thing that consistently stands out is the level of care and attention the residents receive. Every time we’re on the property, we see staff engaging with residents in such a genuine, respectful, and kind way”it never feels rushed or impersonal. The community itself is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained, but what really makes it special is the people. You can tell there’s a strong sense of community here, not just between residents, but with the staff as well. We’ve even said to each other that when the time comes, we would feel completely comfortable having our own parents here”and even ourselves one day long down the road.

Ashley Edwards is an ANGEL!!!!! My 1st time calling! I was knee deep in research for 4 hours before calling. Ashley made me and my Family's Christmas even merrier! I'm a caregiver for my Dad and it's HARD mentally and emotionally. I was my mom's caregiver and she died in my care. So taking care of my Dad is triggering some memories around the holiday season. I'm in an unfamiliar town and I'm moving my dad 4 states over here. Ashley took her time to walk me through the website. She is extremely professional, welcoming, exceptional customer connection, understanding, patient, encouraging, phenomenal listener, knowledgeable, insightful, and such a freaking AMAZING Human being! I wish she could be my personal assistant and travel with me! THANK YOU Ashley for stopping my tears from flowing that you did not even see, bringing me back up for air when I began to sink, and encouraging me to keep doing a great job with my Dad. My mother was there For a month for rehabilitation. The staff was fabulous.The therapist or fabulous the food was actually pretty good and my mom had excellent care . The days that I would visit her I was beyond impressed with how modern and clean the facility is and just how generously kind and attentive the people were that were taking care of my mom. If for any reason she has to go into rehab again I would definitely feel comfortable her going back there.

My Mother was in the Rehab facility at The Village at Summerville after a broken pelvis for almost a month. I cannot give this place enough stars. The care was wonderful! The staff, management, nurses, CNA's, Physical therapists, Occupational therapists and receptionist were amazing! They took such good care of my mom and were so kind. It was so nice that my family and I didn't have to worry about her while she was unable to be home. She commented every day on how wonderful the staff was. We were kept up to date with her care needs and given so many helpful suggestions. A big thank you to all that helped in her recovery! Highly recommend if you or a loved one is looking for exceptional care!

After the horrible treatment my mother experienced at the hospital that treated her initially, The Villages received her in a far more deteriorated condition and it took time for them to get her healed from that and on a rehab schedule she should have started day one. The staff is exceptional and the level of genuine care given by all the different departments is nothing short of amazing. I wasn't expecting that from these types of facilities based on the many horror stories I've heard from friends whose parents stayed at different facilities. We were extremely lucky to get placement with The Villages at Summerville. There are so many names I could provide for exceptional service but the list is too long. Highly Recommend this facility!

We have experienced several areas at The Village of Summerville. My Father lives in assisted living. My Mother recently passed away but she lived in the memory care, and then the skilled nursing unit. In her last few months, she was on hospice. I cannot express how wonderful the care and concern that they receive from staff. My father has mobility issues and they assisted him every day so he could visit my mom. When mom passed we received cards from numerous staff and management and they were represented at her memorial service. It’s a wonderful facility with loving, caring staff.

Amazing facility. Caring staff, excellent physical therapy especially Erica! My grandmother who is 88 just had hip surgery and stayed there for a few weeks at their skilled rehab. She absolutely loved it there. We were so thankful for the amazing care that every staff member provided to her. Everyone was so kind and happy. The facility was clean, the rooms were private and large. Staff was great with planning activities through out the day and she also mentioned how great the food was. I looked at some reviews prior to sending her there and was not sure how it would. But I can assure you that I would send my family back there and feel safe knowing that they were well taken care of. Highly recommend.

This place is totally awesome! They play the piano every Tuesday! They have an ice cream machine for goodness sake!!! Also went one time when I came to see the piano. One of the workers was dancing with one of the senior citizens! It was just so sweet! It’s a really good place to go! We tried to put my grandma in, but they didn’t have any spots sadly! But I really do recommend this place! Even my daughter wants to move in! It’s just an awesome place! Everybody’s absolutely so nice! And if you have a walker You get like a special picture or emoji to match your personality wow! this is just my opinion. But I definitely recommend this place.

This is a difficult review to write. Because so many things were stellar, and some that were not. Pros: 1. The majority of the staff care about what they do. 2. Vincent, the Social Worker, does an outstanding job. 3. The Rehab Center is great. Many of the therapist are superb. 4. Food for the most part is very good. 5. The clergy on staff are great. Cons: 1. The Long Term care facility is well run as long as the administrator is on duty. When she is not there, the quality of service goes way down. 2. The doctors are too conservative with giving pain meds. My father suffered unnecessarily. 3. The administrator of the Long Term care facility lacks any emotional intelligence what so ever. When my father passed, she didn't even offer any condolences. Very unprofessional! 4. Even if you tell them what hospital you want your loved one to go to, they send them to MUSC. They don't honor your requests even if they ask you where you want them to go. 5. The nurses need to read the charts more carefully to ensure that the residents get the proper meds and care that is prescribed.

Not only did they keep messing up her medication, giving her too much of one medicine one day and not giving her any the next, completely outside of the prescribed times. When discharging her they did not tell her what medications she needed to take or when, they did not tell her about setting up any additional appointments or assist her with coordinating anything at all. Including not telling her anything about dietary restrictions... Being in the location was a nightmare for her (at times), and leaving was even worse... But hey, you didn't kill her under your care, even though she had to remind you to give her certain medications and not to give her a certain medications... So here's another star.. Good job for not murdering people... -Edited- spelling errors due to Voice to text.

What has impressed me the most is the strong sense of community among residents and the friendliness of the staff. I chose The Village because it just "felt right" when I first visited more than 4 years ago. It still feels right after living here for 5 months.

My parents moved to a cottage (independent living) in the Village at Summerville in 2001and fell in love with the friendly, caring community. Dad passed away in 2010 and Mom moved into the assisted living section several years later. She did very well there and died recently at age 105 1/2. She was able to remain in assisted living and was given all the help she needed. Hats off to the management and staff for protecting our loved ones from the Covid pandemic...a feat to be proud of. There have been many significant improvements to the facilities in Summerville over the years...its a wonderful place.
