As a community partner of Royal Oaks, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with their staff for the past year. They are caring, compassionate, helpful, and do a wonderful job with the residents! As you walk in the front doors, you immediately get a warm feeling in the quaint atmosphere thats provided. I would definitely recommend this place to others who are looking for independent, assisted living or memory care for their loved one.

My mom has been a resident of the memory care facility here for about a year. We have been very happy with the facility and the care. They have done a great job through COVID of trying to keep us informed on how mom is doing.

Royal Oaks senior living is a place that is not only affordable, but the staff there adds onto the charm. Still, thats a drastic understatement. The staff is experienced and knows each and every one of their residents very intimately. I cant talk for the corporate-level (I just dont have any experience with them) but the Royal Oaks in Summerville has a staff that has a conscious, a heart, and the experience to take care of you or loved ones. Even the activities blow me away (e.g., local emergency personnel showing up in dress uniforms for Valetines Day dance, food truck rodeos that also support the Alzheimers Association, making liaison with local VA Reps to visit and help veterans side-by-side at their location, and its only getting better!).

Working in many facilities, I find the management and staff to be responsive to care needs of their community. They have a love for senior care that shows in a loving environment ; where residents are encouraged to form friendships in their home, find unique opportunities for senior dignity to shine and are educated on community resources for their residents best support to age in place.

Cant understand the recent not so good reviews. Our family moved our Mom into Royal Oaks in Summerville SC in April of this year. I have been very pleased with the staff and the care she receives both have been great. My Mom is always telling me how nice the staff is. The residents seem happy. My experience has been that the Facility Director Jackie goes above and beyond for the residents! Like I said, very confused by the more recent not so good reviews. They dont reflect at all what I have experienced. I would absolutely recommend Royal Oaks

Jackie, the administrator, has turned this place around. The staff does a great job. You have to provide diapers and wipes unless they are in hospice. The food has gotten better but there is still room for improvement.

I was visiting my sister today and noticed a heavy set blonde employee sitting on the couch in front of the TV on her phone. When a resident asked her for help she said without looking up hold on my show is almost over. I looked over and tried to see what was so important, as she was eating a bag of chips and scrolling on her phone. While I sat there with my sister I noticed this lady was barking orders to people and had a very nasty attitude. I asked my sister if she was like this all the time and she responded unfortunately. I not only was in disbelief that this lady was in some form of power but how lazy and uncaring she was. As for the rest of the staff they all seemed very friendly and helpful. One lady in a blue dress came over and was talking to us and seemed very friendly as well as a few of the nurses or care givers. I really hope the woman who was so rude can work on her attitude and make it more inviting for the families visiting. If I based my visit solely off her I would remove my sister and not suggest this place to any other person. Luckily, the rest of the staff is wonderful and gave me the impression they make up for this miserable employee.

2018 - Royal Oaks has a new staff. I am impressed from the resident care, food menu to maintenance of the facility. Day trips and activates are planned and are executed. The residents are enjoying the activities and are participating. I enjoy seeing the resident smiles.(old) 2017 - The facility has been remodeled and is nice looking.The on site manager is having issues in personnel turnover with nurses and cooks (sandwiches are often served for dinner).Medicines are not given on time they are given in a two hour window. This is a on site management directive.Scheduled outings are canceled due to management decisions and the lack of communication with the on site manager and staff. This leaves residents disappointed

Royal Oaks is a wonderful facility. Employees are always upbeat and welcoming. I frequently see them going above and beyond, to ensure residents comfert and quality of life, is at its best. The newly renovated courtyard looks amazing. Im glad i found this place! I give it 5 stars.

I visited my Aunt this week and was very surprised at the wonderful care that she is receiving. I spoke with the director, Kelly Koester and she was very caring of the residents and they all love her. Great place if you are looking for a place to care for a lived one. The staff is knowledgeable and professional.

Royal Oaks is a living community that is right down the street from our own 5 star and Best in Leadership Award organization, Visiting Angels.They attend the Lowcountry Senior Network, partner with local nonprofits, and their amazing new marketing Director Kat even walked me through the fantastic new renovations they have done on their homes.Competition and mud slinging aside- the community of Summerville has their eyes on Royal Oaks and Kat. So far we like what were seeing and cant wait to see what else they role out!!!

I just toured Royal Oaks this morning, I am looking for my mother who is in the beginning stages of dementia. I was impressed with the look of the facility. I was fearing that it would look and feel like a nursing home. It was nothing like that. The resident seemed happy and looked after. The staff was very invited and asked a lot of questions about my mom. The smell of breakfast made me want to sit down and join them. I was equally shocked to see the executive director there on a Saturday. She was informative and made the process less intimidating for my husband and myself. We liked Royal Oaks very much and it is definitely in the top 3.

My mom has been at Royal Oaks for the past eight months. I cant tell you how great our experience has been! Mom is doing better than she has in a long time. The manager, Kelly , has been awesome! She and her staff do a great job. I saw a recent review that said she doesnt care about her residents. I can tell this is not true! Whenever I talk to her about mom she always knows what is going on with her and I have seen first hand how she interacts with the residents. I have never had more trust and confidence in a facility to give Mom the care she deserves!!

Ive had quite a few members of my family move to Royal Oaks. It really feels like a home away from home . My mother and father - in - law both lived at Royal Oaks. I had two aunts that also lived there. My mother lives there now and has for about 6 years. The staff is very helpful and they take good care of my mom. I am so thankful for all the caring people that work there.

I had the opportunity to do Christmas caroling here last here and it was amazing! All of the folk there are nice and the staff is super helpful. Although they werent too helpful in getting a poor trapped kitten off of their roof. They should do something about that.

This community has recently been renovated and is stunning. The Independent Living program has been revamped as well and now provides a great dining experience and a choice of a glass of wine or beer with their meals! and compared to other communities I have researched it is very reasonably priced for their secured Memory Care wing and Assisted living and Independent Living apartments.
