The Palms of Mount Pleasant – Reviews
April 2023
Moving our parents from the home they’d been in for 52 years was a difficult decision. The transition to Independent Living had a bump or two but Rhonda has shown patience, compassion. When it became evident our folks needed Assisted Living, Rhonda worked on a holiday weekend to facilitate the moving pieces and paperwork. Our folks have a canine companion they love dearly. Rhonda is doing everything she can to make it possible for them to give the pooch a chance to continue being with her humans. The kitchen and dining room staff are kind, friendly and accommodating. No complaints about dining options at all! The therapy department is incredible! Our Dad loves PT! And Ms. LQ at the front desk has gone above and beyond! We did feel there was a slow start and part of that was unrealistic expectations on our part. Be certain you understand Independent Living is just that. If your loved one needs more, consider Assisted Living from the start. The administrative staff is open, available and responsive. They will guide you through.

Although my father is not going to be living here because he is too infirm for assisted living, I would have no hesitation in placing him at The Palms. I toured the facility and found it to be warm and welcoming. One advantage is that both independent and assisted living residents share many of the same facilities like the dining hall. It makes the transition of care so much smoother for the residents. Many of the staff have been employed there for a long time which in my view is a plus. There are many choices in senior communities now and they seem to be undergoing changes of management and ownership with some regularity, but The Palms seems to be a very nice option.

Mother (age 95) will happily fit so perfectly in to life in Independent Living at The Palms as soon as they find her an apartment. Not sure which she will enjoy most. The cocktail hour with appetizers, the rocking chairs perfect for “people watching” at the porte cochére, hamburgers in the shaded central canopied courtyard, or maybe the heated pool or the hair salon. Could just be the excellent menu. Or conversations with Trish Ripley, the Sales Director and others. The handsome, well-dressed fellow residents. Mamma will be so happy to live at The Palms. Thank you Trish.

My Father lived for a short time there before he passed and we found The Palms to be very caring. Here we are 2years later and my Mom, after having a super year in Independent Living just transferred to Assisted Living. The staff are very professional and she is loving her new apartment. The Palms is an asset to the senior community.

I have lived at the Palms for the last seven years. The staff here has taken excellent care the entire time, including that spent under COVID-19 restrictions. I have made many friends among the residents and have enjoyed a wide variety of activities. The location is very convenient to shopping and medical care. Come and visit and talk to the residents. You will find we are like a big family!

I have worked closely with The Palms of Mt. Pleasant for several years in different capacities and it is a fantastic community. They have done a stellar job during COVID, keeping visitors to a bare minimum and screening anyone essential. They have mandated all home health staff have weekly COVID tests to ensure the safety of their residents and staff. I spent four years working as a home health nurse and treated many patients in both assisted living and independent living. The staff is pleasant, professional and knowledgeable and they treat the residents like family. The building is clean and inviting, the food is excellent and the staff truly goes above and beyond. I would not hesitate to recommend The Palms to my own family as a place to call home.

Great facility with very caring staff! I have had 2 separate experiences with the Palms, my mother was in the Memory Care Unit & some time later my Dad moved to the Assisted Living community. I have been very pleased with both areas - the staff are pleasant & attentive to their needs. Its very scary leaving your loved ones in the care of others but the Palms has been a pleasant surprise. During my mothers stay in the Memory Care unit, they were very compassionate with her & our family during a very difficult time. Im most impressed recently, during the COVID-19 situation, they immediately put safety measures in place for the community and after having all residents tested - they have ZERO cases! Thanks from the families of those you care for - we appreciate all you do!

As a physician who works in Long Term Care facilities and Subacute Rehabilitation I have been impressed with the excellent communication of the administration and staff with my mom and myself during this challenging time. I have been very thankful for the excellent job they have done and are doing to keep my mom and other residents safe during a very challenging situation with Covid19. The balance of keeping this population healthy & safe and caring for and meeting the needs and wants of the residents and their families is beyond difficult. There is no easy solution but I appreciate all of their efforts! They are pros!My mom enjoys interacting with the staff laughing and sharing what recent crazy thing one of her family members has sent in the mail or dropped off. She enjoys the Physical Therapy she has gotten there and she enjoys sitting and relaxing in the beautiful courtyard. Before the restrictions necessary because of Covid, she was hardly ever in her room because she was visiting other residents, watching movies in the theater and playing Bingo etc. They have been responsive, professional and kind.

Caregiving for elderly dementia patients is one of the most challenging, and most important, endeavors we face, and doing so in the midst of a pandemic so dangerous for the elderly just multiplies the difficulties for all involved. The Palms At Mt. Pleasant, and specifically the Bridge to Rediscovery Program, deserve 5 stars on all critical elements. Our Mom has been at the Palms for more than 2 years, first with our Dad in skilled nursing. Her 3 children and her best friends could not be happier with the care she receives, especially the BTR staff who provide the continuous love and compassion she needs and deserves. I recommend them to any family facing similar challenges.Thank you all at the Palms.

I have personally worked with The Palm of Mt. Pleasant in several different capacities. Each one has been a very pleasant experience. Over the past 10 years I have been a private caregiver assisting a resident living in an Independent Living apartment at The Palms and never had a bad experience. They always answered my questions and went above and beyond to make my job easier and more pleasant. also currently work in the Senior Marketing industry. I have had the pleasure of volunteering with some of the different staff member of The Palms as well as working and networking with them in many different roles in the community. I have always enjoyed the positive attitudes they have all had. They continually ask for feedback and do all they can to help their residents have a wonderful living experience.I have also attended many events and fundraisers supporting the community at The Palms and Savannah Grace. They are all top of the line and so classy. They always include residents as well the their families, community Senior Industry folks and the general community. The Palms of Mt Pleasant is a special gem in the area and it has had such a great reputation forever. The people are wonderful at keeping their residents engaged with activities and outings while they are aging in place. Leslie is always helpful and so well connected with all the residents. Have also worked with Rhonda who is goes above and beyond. Ebony is absolutely fabulous with her residents in the Bridge to Rediscovery. Elizabeth is a great activity director too! Sandra does great activities as well. I love how everyone is so friendly. Fun events for the residents too.

I moved to The Palms a year ago. It has been a great experience for me. I found people to be very friendly and that is true for residents and staff members who seem to work very hard and they are devoted to seeing that we are well fed, have an attractive clean place to live and have many different activities to keep us mentally and physically challenged. We have regular movies in our lovely cinema, bridge and other card games, a heated pool for exercise and a huge variety of entertainment both in the facility and in the community. There is a nice library and a beautiful courtyard with trees, flowers and several sitting areas. At times a cookout is held there. Three times a week we have a social hour. The apartments are varied and there are several sizes from which to choose. Lastly, there are several different levels of care including independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation and memory care
