The Oaks of Mt. Pleasant has had a big turnover in staff. The quality of care has gone downhill. The staffing ratios are insufficient and the residents are not well cared for. The senior staff members are disengaged and show little compassion.

I must say I am not impressed with this facility. Staff members do not appear to have proper training, knowledge or skills to care for individuals with memory care issues. The majority of the residents look unkept with unwashed hair and dirty clothes. It is extremely difficult to reach the staff members by phone and voice mails are rarely returned.

Above all expectations on all levels. We escaped from one of the "fancier and glamorous" facilities and the transition to the Oaks could not have been a better one. The staff is phenomenal , and the place is spotless.

I had the pleasure to witness the life at the Oaks of Mount Pleasant. There was exercise happening in the day room. The Activities Director was serving fresh cookies to those watching a movie together. There was a mother and daughter enjoying fall flowers that they had planted together in the courtyard. Life is good at The Oaks at Mount Pleasant! Teasie Witte.

We have been dealing with a very difficult situation with my in laws and particularly with my Father in law who is suffering with dementia. I can't say enough positive things about The Oaks , and Jessica in particular has gone above and beyond to help our family. She is readily available, quick to respond, hard working, caring, kind and a competent problem solver. Her guidance and help has been a gift to our family as we navigate these unfamiliar waters. If you are beginning the process to find care for a family member in need of memory care, I encourage you to reach out to The Oaks.

The Sweetgrass Staff care for my husband as their family. He’s looks nice.. shaved and well dressed. His room is always clean.. bed made, curtains open with a comforting view of the woods. They keep him busy throughout the day with fun activities and exercise. The daily structure and consistency keeps him calm and stress free. Myself, along with my family, feel very fortunate he is under their care. I don’t leave, after a visit, with a heavy heart because I trust Sweetgrass Court with his care.

My parents both had end stage Alzheizmers when moving here from assisted living. My Dad was is hospice and passed away a month and half later. I was worried about my Mom as they had been married 60 years. Though her memory has declined, she is happy and has become very social. She now has made friends. She eats in the dining room for her meals and likes bingo! This gives me such peace of mind and happiness knowing shes not isolated and heartbroken ~ especially with Covid going on through most of this. Amazing staff! They do an incredible job! So very happy with our choice to have our parents-grandparents here!

This past summer we began looking for a memory care facility for our aunt. We wanted her new home to be close to us in Mt. Pleasant. We looked at several places but, luckily, chose the PERFECT place - Sweetgrass Court. The staff at Sweetgrass Court was incredibly supportive as we worked through all the paperwork and decisions that accompany this life-altering adventure. They were able to provide knowledge and resources to help us make a wonderfully smooth transition for our aunt - even during this cruel pandemic, which is no small feat. Even though our aunt has been at Sweetgrass for only a few weeks, she is thriving. She participates in activities geared specifically to her needs and she has a reason to get up and get dressed each day. She enjoys the company of the other residence and of the staff. Our family loves watching her interact with the staff on the weekly Zoom calls that have been set up for us. The staff members are so caring and so patient with her. When we asked our aunt if shes made new friends, she points to the staff and says, These are my friends. The staff really goes above and beyond to help the residents and their families - they answer all our questions (even the trivial ones) with patience, kindness, and with expert advice; they are always responsive and professional; they never make you feel like you are putting them out, even though they must be incredibly busy. It feels like an extension of family, which is just what our aunt and our family needed. If you are looking for a place to provide professionalism, experience, and patient, loving care for a loved one, Sweetgrass Court is THE BEST. Wish I could give it 100 stars!!!

I am so happy I have found Sweetgrass Court. When a family member starts to experience dementia or Alzheimer behaviors, you want to find them the best place you can afford. If you are like me, you will be drawn to shiny new homes that promise a hotel like experience with lots of activities. Well dont be fooled. If the home is new so are the employees. Which means little to no experience in dealing with the complicated issues your family is going through. Sweetgrass Court may not be new and shiny, but it is loaded with staff members with years of experience. Sweetgrass Court is happy to give you advise on how to help them take care of your loved one. Again if you are like me, you have taken care of your loved one all by yourself for so long. You need help. Sweetgrass Court is exactly who you need. They will take care of your loved one, and offer you the rest you most surely need at this point in your life. At the same time giving you all the visitations that you want, even the freedom to take them to appointments and events with no issues. Believe me, this is the place you want to choose for your loved one. Tracy Piatt

Need more stars...The entire staff is very professional, patient and has been so caring with my husband. They do everything Imaginable to include the families with Socially Distancing visits and live music. They help our families stay connected during this very difficult time with the C-19 Virus Pandemic. I want to personally thank the entire staff for all they do. Please know that you are all so appreciated and loved by the families.

We moved my mother from another state about 5 months ago to be closer to us. We had variable experience with several institutions there and find that Sweetgrass Court Memory Care in Mt Pleasant provides excellent, personable care and we are pleased. They have very good continuity within their staff and are very professional. They are responsive to our requests. Though it is an older institution they have nice, home like rooms and accessible, exterior garden spaces that most newer facilities lack. I recommend them.

It was a very difficult decision to move my parents from their home in Beaufort to a memory care home in Mt. Pleasant. However, the staff at Sweetgrass Court helped make it easier in every way possible. Tasha was amazing from the start, thoroughly answering all of my questions and checking in with me on a regular basis during the decision-making process. We were not sure if my mother would be a good fit, so their director, Traci, as well as their physical therapist, traveled to Beaufort to evaluate her. I was so impressed with their dedication. They did not want to just take our money- they truly wanted this to be a safe and appropriate move for my parents. Once there, the staff made every effort to help make a smooth transition for the entire family, not just my parents. The employees made a sincere effort to get to know my parents as individuals in order to help make them happy and comfortable. As soon as my parents condition changed, I was immediately notified and felt very comfortable and confident that they were well taken care of. Unfortunately, I lost both of my parents. However, the staff at Sweetgrass Court were there through every stage of my familys loss. They provided endless comfort and I wouldnt have wanted the situation to have happened any differently. They helped make the loss less painful. Tasha still checks in with me and I miss seeing their caring and beautiful faces. I wouldnt do anything differently, as my experience at Sweetgrass Court was priceless.

My mother in law has been a resident at Sweetgrass for one and a half years. We have been very pleased with the care and attention that she has received. The staff has been very accommodating to her and to us. We feel welcomed every time we come to visit. We routinely find her engaged in group activities such as music, arts and crafts. Her care and overall well being is a priority. They also have community outings that help the residents to stay engaged and motivated. We recommend you consider this facility for your loved ones.

Sweetgrass Court has been a welcoming residence for my mother for more than a year now. The staff is warm and welcoming at all times. The memory care residence is safe, home-like for the residents whose needs range widely. The setting is intimate which allows for the residents to be familiar with their setting, the other residents and the staff.

My father needed memory care assistance when he was 89 and we were referred to Sweetgrass Court. By mistake, I drove to the nearby Assisted Living Sweetgrass on Mathis Ferry. The nice lady there listened to my needs and then offered to get in her car and lead me to the Sweetgrass Court Memory Care facility that was not far away. She did so and she introduced me to the folks I needed to see. As things turned out, my Dad got a very nice room and was made to feel comfortable, safe, and at home. The staff has been very attentive to my Dad and they have watched over his every need, and they have been very communicative with me, too. Dad feels comfortable and has no complaints whatever. He likes the food, too. When he has a medical need, the staff doctor makes regular rounds and takes care of it. We are very happy with Sweetgrass Memory Care, 1010 Anna Knapp Boulevard, M.T. Pleasant, S.C., for my Dads needs. Tom

Ive visited Sweetgrass Court with a friend and his family I thought Sweetgrass was a lovely facility. The staff all seem to enjoy working with the residents and communicating with their families. The representative Tosha was very compassionate and informative, the residents seem to enjoy being in the courtyard. Its seem like a great facility for people with dementia.

Sweetgrass Court is the most amazing place I have ever seen. My experience has been wonderful, the first time in years that my mom has gotten dressed, been out of her room, been involved in activities, and the list goes on. She smiles and is happy every time I see her. The staff take them out to events, lunches, and activities which they certainly enjoy. Then they send pictures of my mom and others enjoying the activities. The staff are wonderful in every respect and very kind to their patients and family members. They have parties and invite the families which is great fun. Sweetgrass should serve as a model facility for others to follow. I feel as if they are a blessing from God Rebecca Robinson Daughter of patient

My mother has been at Sweetgrass Court for almost a year. I will say she has been well cared for and in many respects is doing better now than when she first arrived. The staff is very pleasant and they seem to take a genuine interest in the residents well being. The facility is clean and always has a pleasant smell. If there is an issue with my mothers room or care it is addressed in a very timely manner. No place is ever perfect but really the only minor issue I have found is the food is sometimes not as warm as it could be when served. All in all it has been a very positive experience given the difficult nature of circumstances.

My Mom is 91 years old,and has dementia. She resides with me,which can be very challenging.I have secured respite at various facilities, some of which were a horrible Nightmare.THIS facility,Sweetgrass, has consistently shown to be a top rated, caring, facility This was our second stay. The staff members are professional and personable. The sales counselor,Tasha Williams, took a lot of time,to include follow up instructions,to ensure that I understood all of the paperwork required for my Moms stay. She wanted me to be able to leave town without any worries. She greeted us at admission with a beautiful gift, and stuck with us thru out the day, providing some hands on assistance.A staff member,Teaco Washington, really went above and beyond during my Moms stay. She paid close attention to Moms patterns at home, and tried to duplicate those at Sweetgrass,i.e. went to bed and got up the same times she does at home, allowed Mom to help fold napkins (something Mom loves to do ).When I called to check,Teaco provided a detailed, involved account of her day. It was a major relief to have Mom at a place that was safe and reliable. When I visited, Mom it was evident that she was enjoying her stay, NEVER asked about returning home. I gladly recommend this facility !!! C.H.Singleton

I have been very pleased with the care my dad has gotten while at Sweetgrass Court. Since Im out of state they are kind enough to send me e-mails about activities and pictures of outings or other activities. This brings me a sense of comfort when I can not be there. They also are great when I call wanting to talk to him anytime of the day. I especially was grateful of the e-mails keeping me up-to-date on what all was happening during the recent hurricane. I was also impressed with the program that they have called Bridge to Rediscovery which is their Montessori based approach to memory care. He even gets to entertain the staff and residence with playing the piano which he loves!

Sweetgrass Court was the most caring, thoughtful facility that ever cared for my Mother. The staff attention and activities were beyond my expectations. My Mother felt that every day she was continuing to contribute to the lives of those around her. This was solely due to the staff remembering her lifes history and working daily with her to be a positive part of her past memories. I highly recommed them all. They put a smile on her face when she most needed it.
