My mother was a resident at Deepwood Estates for 4 years. While she lived there, she had community. She made friends with the residents and made her little apartment into a true home. She especially loved the staff. They were so kind to her and made her feel like family; whenever she needed anything, they were always there to help. Deepwood made the difficult transition from her house very bearable.

I moved into Deepwood Estates January 1. My first impression was everybody was so friendly And the staff went out of their way to make my transition as easy for me as possible . Dustin found me the most beautiful apartment that I finally have a home. I have been able to let go of the past and embrace what I have now and I truly believe that that has to do with the staff. Jessica,, the director of activities has truly made this place a home how much she gives to the community is beyond reproach. Her energy is infectious and has inspired me to become as involved with this community and embrace this new stage of my life. Thanks to Deepwood Estates. I feel I have a home and I am not dependent on anybody. I don’t ask for anybody to do things for me. Deepwood has made it possible for me to be independent and it’s been a long time since I’ve been independent so I couldn’t be happier. So thankful for Deepwood Estates . We were looking for a place for my mom, and we had a great experience from the initial tour through move‘in. Deepwood Estates has nice curb appeal and offers all meals, utilities, weekly housekeeping, and activities seven days a week. Dustin was”and continues to be”extremely helpful and very quick to respond. Overall, we’re very happy. The public carpeting on all floors does need replacing, but we were told that is scheduled for March 2026.

My mother has lived here for several years. She followed friends to another place and then chose to come back. It is wonderful! They have a variety of apartments available, the location is convenient, it's attractive, comfortable, they provide activities and transportation, and the staff is fantastic. It's independent living but they have assisted living organizations/services within the building so it's the best of both worlds as your loved ones adjust to getting older. My brother has lived in 3 previous senior facilities. Deepwood has been the best ! All staff members have been extremely friendly and helpful in assisting not only their resident but also the family members. A few months ago , my brother was seen by another resident looking confused and sitting outside his apartment door. She reported this to Dan, administration . He contacted my brother’s daughter after my brother refused to call an ambulance. He was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks with infection in his bloodstream (sepsis). Dan and staff checked on him in the hospital, provided important information for returning him to health after he was discharged home. They have helped him at every step to install equipment to insure his continued safety. My mother in law loves living at Deepwood and we are so lucky that she is happy, healthy & living closer to us too! The following are her remarks: I have lived here for three years and it was the best thing I have done for myself. I feel very safe, don’t have to maintain a house & property, don’t have to drive, don’t have to cook, and I’ve made lots of friends. You can be involved in many activities, or be like me and enjoy sitting on your balcony watching the sunset, birds and squirrels. I have stayed physically active by walking after each meal with friends. On pretty days we walk the sidewalk that wraps around the building; on bad days we walk inside down the hallways. I am very pleased with the services provided here and the staff is great! They work very hard to keep Deepwood a beautiful and clean, positive and welcoming, active environment. We have lots of different food choices at each meal, servers take our orders at our dining table and deliver it in several courses. The dining room is beautiful and feels like a fine restaurant. I’ve been very impressed with the general manager, Dan Geurtsen, and the entire team at Deepwood Estates. The property is kept beautifully updated and maintained. We have visited the community on multiple occasions and always receive a warm welcome from both the staff and tenants. Everyone I’ve met there is very responsive, friendly, and extremely helpful. You can tell from watching all the interactions and fun activities they provide daily, that the entire team is very attentive to the tenants needs and they go out of their way to make it a clean, comfortable home where folks feel a sense of belonging and community.

We moved our mom to Deepwood Estates Lexington in January of 2025. It is an updated Independent Living Facility with wonderful staff and activities, great food, a family atmosphere, and reasonably priced. Prior to here, she was at an assisted living facility costing almost 3 times as much and raising rates on a regular basis. We were concerned about the move as our mom has memory issues. However, this has turned out to be a better move with even more attentive staff than assisted living. I can’t say enough good things about the general manager, Dan Guertsen. He assumed this role in Spring 2025 and has made tremendous improvements over past management. For example, I only saw the previous manager one time from January to Spring. Since Dan has taken over, I see him every single time I go there, twice weekly. He helps the wait staff serve coffee at meals and interacting with all the residents- joking and laughing and addressing concerns. He always asks how things are going and is willing to work through any and all issues with our mom. Other staff shoutouts to: Susan- sales director, who meticulously arranged the move in details. Jessica- the activity director with boundless energy, who does fun activities every day, outings in the community, live music every Friday, and special theme activities throughout the year. Nicole- front desk is super welcoming and willing to help. She has even driven from home at night back to Deepwoods to help my mom. Maintenance is on top of fixing issues and willing to make special accommodations for residents when needed. Dining staff are very friendly and get meals out in a timely manner. Lastly to the residents who genuinely care for each other like family. Most all are friendly and socialize with each other even outside of activities. Some residents take others to outside appointments, dining, or errands. A handful of residents have exchanged numbers with me as they help look after our mom and care about her. All in all, I could not be happier with Deepwoods since the addition of Dan as manager. He has made Deepwoods a great place for residents to have an active lifestyle and call it home.

Since we have in-house new manager, things are going pretty much what I hope for I never wanted to move into a retirement home. I did everything I could to avoid it. But since it’s happened, it was pretty much what I expected, and I was unhappy, but now with new in-house management Pretty much everything that I’ve was unhappy with they are trying to correct the the meals are on time every day I feel the quality of food has improved when the new management took over everything seemed like changed that we were happy with and when we complained about it and explained our concerns, they improved it. They seem to listen and they try to correct the situation. The manager we have now is aware of what the people needs are he listens and he tries to hit a happy medium, so everybody will be happy. I’m very happy with the facility and the people that work here they provide on site therapy from a private company. That makes it very convenient specially for people that can’t travel. Their employees seem very kind and caring they make you feel like family.

Every time I walk through their doors, I’m always greeted warmly by staff and residents alike. This facility reminds me of the Titanic’s opulence, but located on land. The dinning room is spacious and the food is delicious. They offer a variety of food to tease almost everyone’s appetite. I love the cleanliness of this facility. It’s difficult with the upkeep with a facility of this is, but it’s always immaculate. The residence’s rooms vary is size, but it’s a well though out floor plan; something for differing tastes. Not everyone can be happy all the time, but the residents seem really happy here. It’s like the small town I grew up in. Everyone is friendly and it’s really a community; it feels like home. Your friends are only a knock away!!

My grandmother moved in there about four months ago. She has never been so happy! The staff has treated her like she’s a queen, and she really enjoys the meals and treats!
