The staff at Somerby in Baxter Village is top notch. They are empathetic, kind, and patient. Miss Dereatha, Miss Vee, Miss Bella, and Mr. Daniel do their work with compassion and positivity, which is so beneficial for the patients and their families. The therapy team (Miss Sara, Miss Rachel & Miss Anne have helped my Dad in so many ways and take the time to explain what they are working on with him and why. And the food is incredibly diverse and delicious! .I can rest easy knowing my Dad is in good hands!

OK, I have been in this place almost 2 years and I have never yet found anything that I didn’t like about it. Everybody has been so nice to be. Everybody smiles all the time they take care of everything we do we have plenty of time to sit and think and then we have plenty of time to do things interesting things Thanks to Michelle our life engagement Director . all the time sometimes it’s almost too much for a day we get so tired, but we are not bored. I have not been bored a minute since I’ve been here, I try to sit in my room sometimes and just sit there and think but it doesn’t last wrong. I think oh my gosh, I was supposed to take exercise so then I have to get up go to exercising and the food is there is always something in the on the menu that you can eat something that you like you might not like everything but there’s about six things that everybody likes so you can always find something and I like to try different things and we have a lot of of those different things and I do most all of them sometimes I don’t like them, but sometimes I love them, but that’s just the way life is we don’t always like everything. We don’t are not happy about everything, but I tell you one thing I hope to live here the rest of my life. some of the things that we have here are exercise five days a week. puzzles bingo happy hour. we also have different kinds of music throughout the month. I am never bored

We are very pleased with Somerby. The Executive Director Sara Melody has greatly improved communication with family members over the last few months. She along with Victoria has sat down with me and my family member to go over questions concerning resident care, evaluations, and levels of care. They answered all our questions and made adjustments where adjustments were needed I very much appreciate the weekly updates from Sara about all going on within Somerby. The new Somerby Team has improved some of the normal challenges found within most Assisted Living Facilities.

We are extremely pleased with the care and environment at Somerby Baxter Village. After a difficult experience at another facility, my father-in-law moved here, and the difference has been remarkable. From our initial meeting with the Manager's, every promise made has been fulfilled. The staff are attentive, the facility is clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Our family has experienced a significant reduction in stress knowing he is in capable hands. We highly recommend Somerby Baxter Village to anyone seeking a supportive and well-run community for their loved one. Thank you to the entire team for your dedication and compassion.

We are excited to hear that The Bridge Management Group will now manage Somerby in Baxter Village in Fort Mill, SC. We have had family members reside in The Bridge managed ALF’s. The service, care, and therapy staff are exceptional. We expect great things!!!
September 2025
They are undergoing management change and things have already improved. Not that it was bad to begin with. Just little improvements that make a big difference, e.g., replacing the auto door opener buttons, food service, landscaping... just so far. Can't wait to see all the changes.

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. They do not care about the residents at all. The leadership is AWFUL and hide behind a door. My mother in law lived there for a year and we tried to make it work but after being given another residents medication for 2 weeks, having her room filthy and inhabitable because they don't have housekeeping she was forced to live with feces on her floor for days at a time, the toilet would be clogged for DAYS and no one to help fix it. They claim they have housekeeping and maintenance onsite but that is false. They can't keep staff so they sometimes pay for a company to come in to clean but most times they just leave it and the resident lives in filth. There is no weekly cleanings as they tell you. Its garbage removal and that's about it. My MIL has an incontinence problem and they would leave the stains on the floor for days at a time. You would ask for it to be cleaned and they would never send anyone in. When we found out she had been given another residents medication for 2 weeks and reported it we were told they would look into it and get back to us. Never heard another word. They were bothered we brought it to their attention. She could have died taking someone else's medication and who knows what could have happened to the other resident going without. We would try to meet with the ED but she was always "busy" or "in a meeting". The executive staff is rude, inconsiderate and do not want to be bothered with dealing with families or residents. One of the med techs pushed me because she was upset I reported her to her manager for instructing my MIL to not take prescribed medication because she felt it wasn't helping. We asked her several times to not have that conversation with my MIL and she continued so we reported her so she pushed me. If she pushes me, my MILs advocate, what does she do to my MIL and other patients when we are not there? We reported it and nothing happened. They continued to have her work with our MIL. We had to put a camera in the room because we were worried for her safety as we found another place for her to live. My MILs room had a door to a patio, we asked weekly to ensure the door was locked at night for her safety as she was not able to lock the door herself. The door was ALWAYS unlocked. So we got to the point she couldn't go outside because they never ensured the door was locked at night. It's very easy to gain access to those rooms and the residents as the lock is tricky and challenging for residents so who knows what could happen. The staff doesn't check the doors so anyone can get in if they tried. They do so many sneaky things when families are not looking and when you call them out on it they act like you're stupid. Communication is awful. My MIL fell one night and they didn't inform us until 11:30 am the following day. When asked what happened I was told the book was "too far away to get" that would have the report in it. Luckily, she was OK but you can't rely on them to keep you posted if your family member falls unless they are taken out via ambulance. They cannot stand family members who are active participants in their loved ones lives. They don't want to be held accountable for anything. It may look nice and have all the bells and whistles you want, but believe me, you're doing a disservice to your family member putting them there. Tour other facilities, you will see the ED has their office doors open for families to see them, greet them and make them feel like your family member matters. Not [name removed], the ED there. She could care less and it shows. They can't keep staff because they treat them so poorly so residents have no consistency which is important as they progress in their disease. Go find another place and don't make the same mistake we made.

I visited my SIL today from 3 pm to 4:10 pm There was supposed to be coloring and taiChi, neither of which happened. My SIL was at a table with 3 ladies. They had nothing to do. Can't there be cards, easy puzzles, rubies cubes, candyland etc on a few of the tables so they can goof around with something rather than just sitting there? Does the inactivity go on all day ( other than having the tv on)?

This place is so amazing, it's like a 5-star hotel. From the moment you walk in, you can tell that this place is top notch. I love the smell, and the atmosphere is just so welcoming. The staff at the front desk is friendly and helpful, it's like they're there to make your day better. I love the dining room ambience. The tables are covered with clean white cloth, the food servers are very polite and of course the food are great. The staff at the memory care are very helpful, they treat you like family. They're compassionate and attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure your needs are met. Valerie is the best! The staff is truly the heart and soul of this place, and they're committed to providing the best possible experience for the residents. The facility itself is well maintained and clean, ensuring that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Overall, I highly recommend this facility. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

My father moved into the Blake about a month ago. He has started PT, which is something I've been trying to get him to do for forever. The one thing I really love is that it is a one stop shop. He is served three sit down meals a day which are absolutely delicious but he can also see a Dr. there and get his hair cut. Diane made the transition smooth and I appreciate all her help.
October 2021
Not worth the money. No follow through. Dust inches thick in the apartments. No assistance with personal care or personal hygiene. Unresponsive Executive Director and leadership. They promise the world and deliver nothing even close.
April 2021
My father lived in the memory care side of the Blake at Baxter for the better part of 2020 until he passed away in November of that year. I cannot say enough about the staff and the facility. Rita Hill, the director at The Blake, was exceedingly kind and helpful during a very difficult time in our family’s life. She accommodated every need we had in regards to my dad and his care, and she always helped us with kindness and caring. Madison Cavanaugh (I hope I spelled her last name correctly!) was also a gift to us during this time. She took care of my dad as if he were her own father. She treated him with dignity and respect and always made sure to let him know that she cared about his well being. She was a friend to my dad during a really hard time, and for that I am very grateful. The rest of the staff at the Blake was awesome as well! Everyone was always very professional and accommodating...... and always kind and caring.... always. I would recommend The Blake at Baxter Village to anyone looking for assisted living and/or memory care accommodations.
December 2020
The staff and team and the Blake are phenomenal. Chelsey, Sophia, Rita, Dianna, Emma, Michelle--All amazing folks that truly care for the residents that they are helping. My dad feels like he is at home--and has thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
November 2020
Since day one, the entire staff has been very attentive and professional with all matters involving my mother. We are especially appreciative of how they have managed things since COVID. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special place to live.
November 2020
My father (who just passed away) was a resident there since January. Rita was always helpful with any questions or problems we had. Covid has been difficult for all, but she managed the Blake extremely well given the circumstances. Madison was my fathers favorite and became like a second daughter to him as we could not spent a lot of time with him. She looked out for him and spent time with him even when she didn’t have to. She really went above and beyond. I would trust the staff at the Blake with my loved one any time. Thank you all.
November 2020
My father was the very first resident at the Blake at Baxter Village (July 2019). He loves it there and has received nothing but the best most respectful care by all. During the pandemic they have done a lot with the residents to keep them happy and safe. Prior to the pandemic I spent a lot of time with my father and had the pleasure of dining with him weekly and never had a bad meal. The facility has a high end hotel feel and is light and bright. All of the staff have become like family to us. I hope my Dad gets to spend the rest of his days at The Blake at Baxter Village.
November 2020
The Blake at Baxter Village is an outstanding facility. The staff is top notch and make sure mom has what she needs. Not to say they are quick to answer any of my emails or phone calls. They have had zero covid cases which is a 5 star in my book. They are very cautious on their protocols for the residents. Only complaint from mom(she's picky) is the food but I'm sure it will get better with time.

We absolutely love the staff and environment at the Blake! My grandmother lives in the memory care and you can truly tell they care and love her. Nurse V is so sweet, and truly takes the time to know the family and connect with them. We just attended their valentines party this evening, and it was not only so well done, but we ALL had a absolute blast. The music was upbeat, yummy treats for everyone! It was so much fun! We also loved attending there Halloween trick or treating. It was such a fun event for the whole family and even friends outside of the community!! I could go on and on! Every event is awesome! This place is always welcoming, warm and does everything great!! They even had gluten free special snacks for my daughter. Love love the Blake at Baxter village! ™™

I am puzzled by the negative reviews posted on here. Let me say I live here and do not know any of the reviewers. My experience is the staff/management is compassionate, responsive and caring. The concierges are NOT rude nor is the management. The food is excellent and definitely better than any other assisted living facility I have visited. I invite you to come and see for yourself.
