Reviews Oaks at Beaufort
February 2021
My mom has been a resident at Summit Place for 2 years. There have been some issues I have had that are usually addressed quickly. The majority of the staff are pleasant and caring. I know dealing with dementia is a hard job. I appreciate the support and love they show my mom. I know with the pandemic its been an extremely trying time. The staff are pitching in where needed. Jennifer Phillips and Marvin Smart have been especially helpful to me. They make sure I know whats going on with my mom, sends picture of activities they are doing or just calls for my mom and I to talk when she is having a difficult day. I do appreciate that very much.

Ive just moved my mom into the Memory Care unit at Summit Place after searching for the right spot in the Beaufort area. This has been a complicated year for our family, with Covid making the decision to bring her to Beaufort even more fraught than it wouldve been. I had been in Summit Place prior to Covid and already knew it was clean and safe and appointed nicely, but now Ive gotten the chance to know the staff, too. Theyve made all over my mom as shes been getting acclimated and done anything possible to make her feel welcome and comfortable, as theyve done for me as well. Totally professional and incredibly warm and caring. And just plain nice. Im incredible grateful to know Ive made a great decision placing her here.

I have been a part of the Summit Place family since January of this year. I was formerly the Area Director of Dining, Dining Services Director, and Chef for another Senior Living company in Florida. I resigned after 8 years of service put my house up for sale and relocated to the Charleston area. Not knowing what to expect, I was immediately welcome with open arms. When you have a team who shows true compassion theres nothing you cant accomplish. My goal is to provide the best dining experience for my Residents and a positive working environment so all team members can reach there true potential. I feel blessed to be surrounded by people whos hearts are in it.

Everyone lends a helping hand when and where needed. The willingness to go above and beyond amazes me every day. Our company is absolutely dedicated to the health and well-being of our residents. Their resolve to support our communities as they protect our residents from COVID-19 is simply unparalleled. I have made the right decision to join this amazing team and company!

I have been with Summit Place for almost 5 years. Started out as an activity assistant and now I am the Lifestyle 360 Director. Summit Place is my second home, the residents are like family to me, they are well taken care of by our dedicated staff. Its a bright and happy community. I work with an amazing team, we all work extremely well together. Our executive director is fantastic. He is very dedicated to Summit Place and the team. Summit Place has been my parents home for the last 5 years and I am so grateful for the care they are receiving there. The staff treat them as family and not just residents. The activities are interesting and, for example, the jewelry making classes which raise money for worthy causes, give the residents a sense of purpose and community. Most importantly, my parents are happy there and I am so glad we chose Summit Place of Beaufort.
May 2020
Since January 2019, I have been blessed with caring for a lovely lady, 94, at Summit Place. The staff are truly welcoming and helpful, the minute anyone walks through the front door.FIVE STARS for Tyler Mikell, Executive Director, has contributed his warm personality to each resident, whenever he sees them, in the dining room, hall or visiting them in their room. Front Office Staff, receives each person with the same courteous greeting and go the extra mile for their needs. FIVE STARS for Jennifer Brewer, Julie Seibold, Kim Farlow and Leah Duncan. FIVE STARS also for Jennifer Phillips for her creative talent in marketing and designing the common areas. The nurses are ALL sensitive to the patients needs, however, two nurses, I give the honor to receive the 5 STARS, are DeShawn Brown and Sheila Webb.

Our experience at Summit Place was wonderful. The professionalism, care. and love of patients was more than we could have asked for, The CNA s were beyond good, they are exceptional. Summit Place needs to make sure they keep them. We could not have been happier with the care given to my Mother. It was superb. Thank you Summit Place. Judi Hitch

We had our 94 year old grandmother, mother, mother-in-law in this facility for two (2) years. The place was terrific. Our patient was in the memory care unit and needed a lot of help. The CNAs, Nurses, administrators down to their receptionist were very caring and handled their duties with knowledge and compassion. I would recommend this Nursing home to anyone and it is all about the staff............Special thanks to Brooke Sherman who sold us on the facility priorto bringing our family member in.

Summit Place of Beaufort feels like home. We visited several years ago for my Mom. She wasnt able to make it there and passed in Hospice care. My sister and I have kept in touch with the staff and have decided when it is our time we want to be at Summit! We want to have our plans in place so that our children dont have to make those decisions for us.Everyone at Summit is amazing! The views are spectacular and the care given is unparalleled.
