My mom, Gloria Lavelle, was a resident at Serenity for past 15 month. Each and every staff member made her feel welcome from very first day she arrived at the facility. They gave excellent care, companion and love to my mother. She enjoyed all the activities provided especially bingo going for ice cream and movies.She loved going to the dining room for her meals and loved the food. She enjoyed getting her hair done on Tuesdays. She met many great friends at Serenity including all of staff. Serenity is a family oriented facility in every sense of the word. The staff is the "Best of the Best" and we will never forget what they did for my mother and my family!

I spent some time here recovering after a surgery that I had at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. It was actually Old Forge Manor at that time, not Serenity. I always felt they gave ,me the best care that they could, and the had some gret staff. But they never seemed to have enough people working. I'm not sure if thats because they couldn't hire anyone or if they're not allowed to have that many staff working at one time. Still I wouldn't hesitate to go back if needed.

This facility seems to be changing. I know the Administrator is different and I've had to chat with a woman named Alyson who I am not thrilled with. She's condescending when she's on the phone unlike Melanie who was very helpful and joked around too. I'm glad the other staff seems to be the same but I don't like the other changes I see. Just seems like it ain't as much about caring about the old folks like it was the past couple years. Seems more cold and distant lately.

I've worked with Melanie and her staff for a number of years and would definitely recommend Old Forge Manor if you are looking at personal care facilities. The activity director goes above and beyond for the residents! There is always something going on. Car wash events, shopping trips and trips to Veteran's Promise for their residents who served. The staff is friendly and helpful. Debbie always has a smile for residents and visitors alike!

The staff at Old Forge Manor were kind, respectful, and compassionate when taking care of a member of my family. Debbie Gealy went above and beyond on several occasions in order to ensure all family questions were answered and all resident needs were met in timely manner. Melanie, Debbie and the entire staff treat residents as members of their extended family. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking to ensure their loved one's social and personal needs are met with the highest level of compassionate care and respect.

My mom has been living at Old Forge Personal Care for almost 4 years. The staff there is great! They are very caring, attentive and really make the residents feel like at home. Debbie is the best! She is always pleasant and I can tell she really loves her job! She is always able to provide updates on how my mom is doing. I have peace of mind knowing that my mom is well taken care of at Old Forge Personal Care Center.

I stopped by Old Forge Manor over the weekend to purchase raffle tickets for their fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association. There are a variety of baskets/gift cards to choose from! I donated to this event last year as well as other fundraisers they have held! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the residents were very pleasant. Each time i visit, I leave with a smile on my face!

My Aunt and Uncle lived here for three years my Aunt passed away first and it was hard for my Uncle they were married over 60 years the staff was so wonderful he and I both felt they were family. Two years later on Christmas night my Uncle passed there in his room where Hospice and the nursing staff were with him all through the process holding his hand and sitting by his side everyone one of them came to see him I can not begin to tell how above and beyond that made me feel they cried with me where else would you get so much love! When the doctors told us his time was limited he stated he wanted to die at his home [Old Forge Manor ]I did not know if it was possible they made it possible and worked side by side with Hospice to give him his wish. This was his home and they were his family I will never be able to say enough wonderful things about this place! If you are chosing a place for your loved one this is it it is way more than a personal care home the care, love and respect they provide goes above and beyond.
