My review is based off my 2019 experiences. Out of all the places my family member stayed for rehab this was the best care facility locally for the short to long term. There was no major concerns during the entire stay. Every other place we went to all had major concerns within 24-48 hours and we promptly left. They even have volunteers! Some of the ladies that volunteered even hung out with me after their time was over. There is always room for improvement but you can only do so much based off your size, budget, and resources available. If I ever need a place this is where I would like to go today.

Pickering Manor has grown to be family. From the very first day it was like an extended hand from a family member saying I am here for and will help you and they sure did supersede that promise The way I see it Pickering Manor is a HOME of Nurses not a nursing Home full with the most caring people from the front door all the way through the hallways and up the stairs to the offices. Both my parents have been living at Pickering Manor for over a year. They have been taken care of by some of the most wonderful staff who care deeply about them especially during these COVID-19 days when we cannot be there. Pickering Manor is hidden treasure in Newtown PA!

My niece recommended Pickering Manor as a rehabilitation center for my Mother after hospitalization. I couldnt be happier with her choice. The staff at Pickering is wonderful. From the laundry person, the kitchen and waitstaff, the cleaning staff, the hairstylist, the massage therapist, the nurses, the CNAs, the activities personnel, the physical therapy staff and the office staff, everyone, and I mean every single person was personable, kind and caring. Every single person knew my Mothers name, smiled when they spoke, and treated her with respect and dignity. I was there on a daily basis during my Mothers stay and I watched as the staff treated each and every resident, whether long term or short term, as if they were interacting with their own parents or grandparents. The residents were truly nurtured and loved. On numerous occasions I even saw the staff kiss residents on the head or forehead. It made my heart melt. Pickering is the model of excellence and every center should follow their example. Besides the staff, the facility is impeccably clean with a beautiful atrium dining area. I expected meals to be like institutional dining but instead, to my surprise, they were more like fine dining. I would 100% recommend this place for care. Thank you Pickering for everything ! And a special shout out to Mary Kate. Thanks for being especially accommodating and always willing to help. You make it look easy.

I wanted to share our experience about the wonderful staff at Pickering Manor. My mom was there for 2 weeks following an acute care facility for a broken hip. At every touch point in my mom's care, we were so pleased with the professionalism and kindness of the staff. From past experiences at other facilities, the care of my mom and of us as a family was heads and shoulders above what we've had in the past. Entrusting your loved one is hard - I was made to feel very comfortable in our choice of Pickering Manor. Thank you all!!!

After visiting eight assisted living facilities and researching them with Medicares Nursing Home Compare web site, my family members and I chose Pickering Manor for my mothers rehabilitation and assisted living needs. Smaller than other facilities, Pickering Manor offers a close-knit, long term staff who work together to create a personal and loving environment for their residents. The facility is clean, odor free, and run very well. At no time, during my mothers stay, did we have to address her care with the staff. Knowing that a loved one is well cared for is priceless. Without reservation, I highly recommend this facility and their staff.

Pickering Manor is a superb facility for all the services it provides and for all the guests it serves. The design and layout of the facilities provide for a very social atmosphere amongst the patients and between the patients and staff, and such societal activity can be important to the care many of the patients require. This is taken to the next level and beyond by the detailed attention so many staff members give to each patient. Indeed, the top management in the facility sets an example in this respect and that example is followed by all others. Every person on staff appears to circulate throughout the facility inquiring into and serving the needs of each of the patients as they come across them, whether in their rooms, in activity centers, or in the hallways between. Importantly, Pickering Manor not only provides top quality amenities, but also monitors the patients use. For example, meal preparation and service is more like that of a top tier restaurant than a medical services institution, and the dining room staff monitor the patients consumption closely where that may be useful in evaluating their health. I could go on and on with what I have observed in respect of the rehab, physical therapy, medical, and social services - all is superior to any I have seen elsewhere in similar facilities or in comparable organizations providing other types of services. I have never been more favorably impressed by any such organization with which I have had a close experience. The leadership in Pickering Manor is superb, and that shows rigt down the ranks.
