I have visited this facility a few times over the past year for some of their community events. This facility is very bright and clean. The staff is very kind and friendly and you can see how much they care about their residents, and also for the community. I highly recommend looking into Independence Court of Monroeville if you or a Loved one is in need of an Assistant living facility.

My mom has been a resident here for over a year now. I have been very happy with the way they treat her, and with the level of communication they provide me. My mom has never had anything bad to say, and neither have I. I toured four different facilities when I was looking for a place for her, and while there were other contenders that I feel might have matched the level of care here, they were all further away and more expensive by a wide margin. The building is generally well cared for, and while there have been some instances of high turnover closer to the top of the management ladder, the aides who see my mom on a daily basis have remained mostly the same. I have had multiple other residents tell me that the food served here is better than any of the other facilities that they have been in, some citing as many as three other care homes. My only wish is that there was an Excela facility closer to Monroeville so I didn't have to transport her as far for doctors appointments, but that is hardly the fault of the people at Independence Court. I would recommend anyone seeking senior care for a parent to tour here and see what they think.

Tiffany, the Director of Sales & Marketing, was a wonderful help to us & addressed our concerns thoroughly as we transitioned our loved one to this personal care home. We were warmly greeted by Tyler (Executive Director), Marcelle (Director of Nursing), Mel (Patient Life Enrichment) and so many others. They are a fantastic team! Recent renovations make the facility inviting and bright. Multiple activities are offered almost every day and the staff make an effort to connect with each resident.

Having to place a loved one in a Personal Care Facility/Assisted Living is a very difficult decision. Thanks to Tiffany for her guidance, patience and kindness, this decision was a lot easier. The Director of Nursing, Stephanie, answered all of our questions and the entire staff are warm and friendly. Upon entering this facility it is beautiful, welcoming, clean and bright. I’m now excited that my 90 year old Dad is in good hands and in a safe environment. My family and I are very grateful. Thank you!

Staff treat the residents like family. There has been a shift in leadership in the building and it shows. The new director of nursing Tammy is a huge asset to the building. She was able to fix some issues occurring from lack of nursing leadership ,and is always available to the residents and their loved ones around the clock. Having talked to residents families currently in the building, they are very happy with the recent changes and are so thankful for the awesome job the staff is doing to make everyones days with special touches like One- day videos, FaceTime calls and continuing to have a robust activity department despite covid limitations. The building hasnt had any cases of covid which is rare in these uncertain times, unlike many other buildings in the Pittsburgh region. Keep up the good work !

The meal plan is so fantastic. Brian has been a part of the dietary team for more than 24 years and Tony adds a wonderful spin to any recipe. He and Julie have their own virtual cooking shows. It is near impossible to find a senior community with a more engaging activities dept. Sharon and Maureen add heart to all that they do with the residents. Additionally- Sharon has tweaked this program for more than 25 years. Daily exercises, trivia, outings, cooking, planting, manicures, crafts, cards, WII bowling, contests, bingo and the list really does go on and on.
