Today, I had the pleasure of working with RN Marie (for the first time)and CNA Mr. Teate today during our visit with auntie. RN Marie took time to explain very useful information regarding auntie's medical condition to her and to us. She assured me that she would be sure to pass along auntie's summary notes from her Endocrinology appointment last Friday to the care team and doctor. She followed up with me to confirm she had in fact put the notes in a binder. I also wanted to pass along my appreciation for Mr. T, as he seems to have the perfect solution when it comes to encouraging auntie to get up and moving. We just spent most of our day visiting with our sister. Very impressed with cleanliness and atmosphere. She has no complaints and said all the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure we (5) had a nice comfortable place for our visit. Very impressed and satisfied that she's comfortable.

Toured the complex today as I consider placement for my mother, outside looks like a standard elderly home. Common area appear modern and clean for the public eye. Communication between staff is not 100 percent since I was a quick tour with out appointment. The receptionist didn't know I was coming or who to contact since it was the weekend. Once the on-duty-manager was available I began the tour, first common areas caf. , Gym, rec rooms. Them living, sleeping quarters. While walking down the rehab wing. the smell of urine as of bed pans and or bedside Weren't being taken care of in a timely manner. The smell was strong enough I get a light headache. Walk back to the main entrance and the smell disapated. While in the social worker the sent of air freshener thru the ac made any order disappear. Further asked to see the long term , from there there was no order more pleasant. needless to say it was night and day in conditions. Rooms were pretty much non private rooms 1-3 roommates per room.

I am writing this review out of deep concern for the residents at this facility. What I have witnessed and heard from others suggests that many residents are not receiving the level of care and attention they deserve. There appears to be a pattern of neglect that is often overlooked or ignored. Residents are sometimes left waiting far too long for assistance, and basic care needs do not always appear to be addressed in a timely or consistent manner. This is especially troubling because many individuals in a nursing home rely completely on staff for their wellbeing, dignity, and safety. When these needs are not met, it raises serious concerns about oversight and accountability within the facility. It is important to note that there are some kind and hardworking CNAs who clearly care about the residents and try their best to provide proper care. Their efforts are appreciated and should not go unrecognized. Unfortunately, there are also staff members whose actions ” or lack of action ” contribute to ongoing issues that should not be tolerated in a place responsible for caring for vulnerable individuals. These problems do not affect just one resident close to me; they appear to impact many people living in the facility. Even other residents have noticed and spoken about the issues. That alone should be a warning sign that something is not right. For the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the building, the concerns raised here deserve serious attention. The staff members who are allowing neglect or wrongdoing should be properly investigated, and stronger oversight should be put in place to ensure residents are treated with the respect, dignity, and care they deserve. The families of residents trust that their loved ones will be safe and well cared for. Right now, that trust feels broken. I sincerely hope this review encourages management and the appropriate authorities to take a closer look at what is happening here and make the necessary changes to protect every resident in the facility.

When I was in there in 2021 for 2 weeks myself for therapy after covid it was fine I couldn't complain much about anything. But what I don't understand is why Social Services take so long to find them housing to be out on their own again. The person that I come to see now is a lot better and wanting to go home but she didn't have a home when she came there so therefore she needs somewhere else to go she wants her apartment of her own and just have like a home care aide a couple hours a day. She's been in there since beginning of June. I was telling her that I don't understand how that would work if Social Security pays for her to be there. So how she to find a place and put money down on a place for herself. Everything is such a slow process

Still some issues with food being cold. Some night staff are lax at responding to bell rings. Olga has had to wait an hour to an hour and a half for response. She messed herself the other night because no one came. Some night staff respond, turn off the light, say they'll be back and never return. On the positive note, Mr T is an excellent care giver and very responsive to the needs of patients. Very professional and skilled in the care of the elderly.

My Nan has been at Laurel Lakes for rehab for about 6 weeks. Every time I go to visit her, every single staff member is so friendly and happy! She really feels at home there. One man, in particular, named Tati has been amazing! He works so hard, never slows down, and is still always smiling and joking with everyone!! I have no idea what he makes, but he deserves a raise!

I am impressed with the quality of care my mother has been receiving at Laurel Lakes. My mother is receiving excellent care and appears to be adapting well to life in their care. The staff has been very friendly and attentive when my mother expresses concern with them. The staff listens to my concerns (albeit very minor in nature) and have taken action to resolve my concerns. I have attended both the 72-hour and care plan meeting and feel confident that the staff recognize my mother as both a patient and an individual and that they are taking the time to get to know my mother and care for her needs. The physical therapy team are working to improve her physical condition. Their approach and technique appear to be spot-on, and she has shown positive progress. The customer service manager, social worker and her charge nurse have been a real pleasure to work with and have been nothing but exceptionally competent, knowledgeable, and professional. Thank you all for the care you provide, it is making a real difference.

My mother was redirected here for some rehabilitation care after chambersburg hospital just barely tried to help my mother out with treatment due to ongoing health issues. The branch that they placed her in always had some sort of sewage odor when you walked down the hallway, there was too little staff that were always overworked to help care for the elderly patients in that branch, and somehow lost the easily recognizable blanket I gave my mother that every nurse who had seen it had complimented it. Also, the whole facility looks like they retrofitted an old school building to be a rehabilitation center, so I imagine the staff there would agree that it's not very well built for the needs of what they advertise to be. If you get sent here, do everything you can to get better so you can leave as soon as possible.

I understand that costs are tight when it comes to food services at a place like Laurel Lakes. At the same time, I have to believe there are a higher standards that should be maintained when it comes to the quality. It’s as if this place doesn’t even try. Patients don’t want to be there, obviously to begin with, but when you serve the type of food that’s served at this facility, it makes it exponentially worse. It might be tough to find good help, and professionals that wanna do their job but the one thing that would be easy to fix is the preparation and quality of the food being prepared and served to the patients. Much of the food I wouldn’t even feed my dog. If you’re unfortunate enough to have a loved one completing rehab at this facility, prepared to make arrangements to have food brought in.

Am so thankful for the care my family member receives, for a space to visit with them outside of their room and the staff that makes sure they continue to receive care during visits, always asking permission to provide care in that space. Most of the staff is very friendly. But the odor of urine upon entering the hallway just past the reception area is pungent and takes your breath away.

Most of the staff are very friendly. The physician there really knows his business in taking care of his patients. However, when it comes to the CNA’s doing their jobs, there are a few that work and the rest are lacking. The laundry service is very lacking. I have no other choice but to use it. But they don’t pick it up every day like admissions will tell you they do. (CNA’ job) it is also not returned in a timely fashion. My family member has had clothing missing for over a month. Just found some of his clothing with the labels removed. However, the nurses that are on the two units that my family member has been on so far has been amazing. I hope that this second unit the nurses continue to be this way. He hasn’t been there that long. We shall see.

Better late than never, but kudos to Janell Taylor and the rest of the activities staff who go out of their way to make days fun with many various events (games, travel experiences, music programs, and outside lunch catering opportunities). When loved ones family members are invited for evening and weekend events, we try to attend. One in particular worth mentioning was a 2023 Christmas/piano sing along. Many of the Christmas classics were sung by residents and family alike. All who attended had a great time! We only wished that more took advantage of the opportunity to attend. Hoping 2024 allows Janell to use her creativity for more positive experiences.

I just want to say thank you to the activities director Jenell (Taylor). She has been a great blessing to myself and all in our ministry. We have been coming here almost 2 years now, and she has made our visits a pleasure. Not to mention she has came in numerous times to help us on her days off. She is easy to talk too and work with. My family member received excellent care at the rehab facility. The physical therapists and staff communicated with our family regularly and answered all questions promptly. Taylor, The unit manager, and Teresa, the CNA, were very helpful with care and any issues were solved promptly by them. I would recommend Laurel Lakes rehab facility.
