We are incredibly grateful for the care my uncle received at this memory care facility. The caregivers were always attentive to his needs and showed genuine compassion and kindness every day. They treated him with dignity and respect while providing a safe, caring environment. The daily activities kept residents engaged, active, and connected, which meant so much to our family. The staff also provided comfort and support to us during what was an incredibly difficult time, making a challenging transition easier to navigate. We truly appreciate everything they did for my uncle and our family. We have a loved one here. We have been happy with the care she has received. The facilities are nice. The residents have a lot of freedom but are secure at the same time. The outside area is large and welcoming. There are activities daily that are fun and engaging. The staff does a good job keeping the residents involved. We feel that our loved one is in good hands with the care partners here and the rest of the staff.

Artis of South Hills has been the best decision made by her family for my Aunt. ALL of the staff are kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and respectful of ALL residents. The facility is focused around safety, and all activities are geared towards dementia patients. The food is tasty and appealing. The biggest difference between Artis of South Hills and other facilities is the management, Dan, Liz, Debbe, Steve, Mike, Chrissy, and Leland, (if I forgot one I will edit my post) They are visible and working managers. They are NOT in their office all day. The residents are up and out of their rooms enjoying the many dementia based activities Artis offers. They take their time and get to know your loved one and what is important to them and what they enjoy and they make it a part of each day. Upon entering the facility I am greeted by Valeria. She is a real gem. She makes you feel welcome and at home and can answer any questions you have. There are other ladies who work the front entrance but because of the time of day I visit I see Valeria. I do have to add Lorelei, dear sweet lady. Helpful, knowledgeable and most important kind to all and the residents. These ladies at the reception desk hold the building together. They can multi task like no other. Superstars!!! Valeria and Lorelei are office angels. Thank you Artis of South Hills for being an outstanding facility.

Artis of South Hills has been a wonderful place for my mom. The staff has been extremely responsive and helpful in making this transition a little easier for our family these first few weeks. I can tell they genuinely care about my mom and want to make her feel comfortable. Dan, Liz, Debbie, Mike, Stephen, Sherrie, Jessica, I could go on and on about the extra effort they put in every day. It was not an easy decision for us to move mom out of her home, but I know that she is well cared for here. I highly recommend Artis is you are looking for somewhere to place your loved one that doesn’t give a nursing home feel and provides compassionate care.

Thank God for Artis! This place is a perfect fit for my Mom who has dementia. Artis has four neighborhoods which makes life more simple and navigable for Mom. She loves her room which we call her apartment. She gets her hair done and nails done right on the premises! The staff is wonderful and caring. Sher and Bri keep my Mom busy with all their activities and trips out in the community. They also bring in the best entertainment!!! Valeria, Karen and Lorelei, are the receptionists who are awesome and helpful with any issues or questions we have. We take Mom out to see her great grand kids basketball games, the movies, pool, restaurants, and sometimes just to the grocery store. I highly recommend Artis for a loved one suffering from dementia. Mom is living her best life.

Artis of South Hills has the kindest, most professional and compassionate people working there and taking care of our mother. Liz, Debbie & Dan went above and beyond to make mom’s placement as smooth as possible last month. They kept the communication high, reassuring us that she was happy and acclimating well, and told us to call at any time, even after hours. The facility is modern, well-kept and smells wonderful; she seems to enjoy the food and eats well! So far, this has been an excellent experience and mom has been well taken care of. Her Care Partner somehow gets her to shower twice a week, something we had NO luck doing! We are excited to enjoy the beautifully landscaped walk areas with her that Mike lovingly maintains. We cannot imagine a better memory care facility in all of Pittsburgh! Thank you all for your kindness and effort!

The staff at ARTIS creates a warm and homey environment. They are always kind and attentive. There is always something going on relating to music or culture or just simple fun games. The residents have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors on their own while being in a safe environment. I couldn’t imagine a better place for Mom.

My mother has been living at Artis Senior Living in the South Hills for over six months now, and I am truly grateful for the care and support she receives. She is thriving in an environment where the staff not only understand her needs but also communicate with her in a way that makes her feel valued and respected. In particular, Liz has been an incredible help to us as we navigated these first challenging months. Her guidance and kindness have made all the difference during this transition. Whenever I go to Artis senior living South Hills I am always impressed with how well the people there are treated by the staff. All the staff talk with and engage with their seniors with kindness, patience, respect. Treating them in friendly conversation and assistance. They know all the names of the people living there. Artis is a very clean home, decorated for the seasons and holidays. It is bright and well decorated as well. The rooms are clean. There are always group activities going on. Staff and management do their best to make their clients feel comfortable and at home at the place they are living now .

Many positive aspects - a beautiful outdoor courtyard with gorgeous flowers and landscaping including waterfall - so relaxing to sit and listen to the water - a walking path - outstanding communication avenues where concerns can be voiced - all residents are valued as if family - very appetizing and nutritious meals provided - many activity opportunities including special events such as Father’s Day which included a bbq for residents and family - with entertainment- needing to place a loved one in a memory care center (or any facility )is such a hard decision and step but having a facility like Artis helps in many ways

We looked at several places before we decided that Artis was the best place to be. I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is and how amazing all the people are there it's hard enough to place someone away from home but they have made everything so much easier. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Special kudos to Debbie L. She is amazing, so kind and caring. I am not sure I would have placed my husband there if it were not for her warm welcoming kindness when I first visited. She is the best first face ARTIS Southhills could have. She is one of the many treasures that work at ARTIS Southhills.

My Mother in law has been at Artis for almost a year and a half now. After visiting several Senior homes we settled on Artis. It is the perfect size for someone with dementia. My MIL is so content and happy now. She loves her room and is involved in all the activities they provide. She has gone to a play downtown, several lunches out, and a museum. It's nice they do day trips now that Covid is gone. The staff are caring and kind and so helpful. It is so nice they celebrate every holiday! Her life is 100x better than when she was alone at her lonely house.

I cannot say enough about the care staff, administrators and all those who make Artis the compassionate and caring home for my mom in her struggles with dementia. The facility is clean and well maintained. The caregivers go above and beyond their duties and treat each resident with dignity and respect. The caregivers that stand out to me are Keith, Milton, Lina, Melanie, Judy and Luisa. Keith is a jack of all trades leading sing-a-longs with his musical talents, giving manicures and styling and cutting hair. He also gives the best hugs. My mom has gone back to her native language of Italian and has a difficult time communicating and being understood, but each one of these caregivers and others make it their mission to get her whatever she requires. My husband and I became part of and were welcomed into the Artis community 2 years prior to my mom becoming a resident through the support group. The administrators are very hands on with the residents and family members knowing us by name and making sure we are taken care of as well. I would recommend them highly and give them 5+ stars.

As an occupational therapist, I have been visiting this facility for nearly two years and have enjoyed building relationships with not only the residents, but the staff as well! This facility is a family-like atmosphere. Dan, Valeria, Karen, and Leland are always welcoming once you walk in the front door. Beth, Liz, Deb, and Keith always keep me updated with each resident I see and are incredibly personal and caring. The care team staff are very kind, patient, and always willing to assist me as needed. I always enjoy my visits at Artis, all around AMAZING staff!

In my profession I visit many people in multiple different assisted living communities. Artis of South Hills is a favorite . The staff is knowledgeable and compassionate . It really seems like a family.The staff there really care about the residents and you will feel it when you walk into the place. All the staff I have met seem wonderful but especially The director of Nursing Beth and Dementia specialist Liz who are so helpful and communicative. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone.

This dementia care home provided exceptional care for my elderly mother with severe dementia and physical decline. I originally had her stay for respite care when I needed a break but then had to place her once her dementia worsened. The environment is welcoming and home-like, each resident has a private suite in a small neighborhood (There are 4 neighborhoods containing 16 suites each) with a comfortable living room and dining area in each neighborhood. There is also a larger community room and craft room for all residents to gather for daily activities that are thoroughly enjoyed by the residents and their family. Family and friends are welcome to visit their family member at any time of the day - also to partake in the daily activities. The meals are exceptional with large portions. And the care is very good with a dedicated nursing staff, also the administrative staff is hands-on with an open door policy for any issues you may want to bring to their attention - always striving to make it a better place for our loved ones. The grounds are park-like and beautiful with covered porches, a patio area and walkways for residents, families and friends to enjoy. Thank you so much Artis of South Hills for the compassionate care you provided to my mother and the support you provided to me when it was needed the most.

I have been working with the staff at Artis over the past weeks to get my 89-year-old cousin placed into their care. She has a rather complicated situation surrounding her placement, and despite these circumstances, all of the folks at Artis have made this process so much easier for us. Kristy has been our contact from our first tour and has been so helpful, informative, and supportive and has stayed with us throughout the entire process. Kristy's level of commitment is truly noteworthy. I toured several facilities before choosing Artis Senior Living in the South Hills. They had many features that fit my mom's lifestyle as she knew it, such as getting her hands dirty with gardening and baking. It is all on one level and the residents have access to walk the grounds or just sit out and enjoy the day. Since my mom has been there she has enjoyed the landscape and walks everyday. She is engaging in the activities and is never discouraged when she offers to help. She is eating and keeping hydrated which was a concern before she moved in. The staff are always pleasant and kind to the residents and guests. A bonus for the residents are all the rooms are private with their own bathroom. The facility is clean and the food is 'really good' as my mom says. A memory facility can be costly, but Artis is very reasonable and offers the comfort of knowing my mom is well taken care and safe.

I work as a Social Worker for 80 Physicians and I went on a tour a couple years ago and this place is beyond fantastic. The Staff is really caring and checks on the patients every ten minutes. They have wonderful activities for the residents, even cooking. The place is spotless and clean I always refer my patients to Artis Senior Living of South Hills . Mary jo Greene and all the staff are excellent. Please consider Artis for your loved one.... they will be well taken care of.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful people who work at Artis Senior Living of the South Hills. My father has been living at Artis for nearly a year. As a health care professional myself I am in awe of the dedication and untiring amount of time the staff spend with my dad and with our family members when we call to talk about my dad. My dad is meticulosuly cared for and it seems the staff never tire of our requests or his needs. During the past year with the pandemic, this facility has been exemplary in keeping the clients safe and free from COVID-19. The team at Artis has been wonderful throughout my Mom’s stay! She remains happy, healthy, and content! Moving her into Artis during the early stage of her cognitive decline allowed her to quickly make friends and socialize (much more that she was doing while living in her home). The facility layout was one of the key decision factors in our family selecting Artis. Its single floor allows for walking and going outside when the weather is appropriate and the intimate neighborhood concept with lovely dining and living room amenities. My father has made Artis his home. He is being well-cared for with delicious meals, good company and clean facilities. His personal and health care are well attended to and he enjoys all of the activities, both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. I had to move my mother from an assisted living facility to a memory care unit several months ago. So during the midst of the COVID-19 lock-downs, I moved her to Artis of South Hills. This is one of the best moves I could have made. The staff at Artis and the level of care my mom is receiving is second to none. The folks at Artis are true professionals when it comes to caring for people with memory issues and dementia. They ensure that the residents are engaged in activities and with each other on a routine basis. And the staff goes out of their way to assist family members in maintaining face-to-face contact with their loved ones which is very difficult with the COVID-19 lock-downs. I am truly grateful that my mom is in such a safe and caring environment.

My father has been a resident of Artis for about 2 years. When asked, he indicates that the facility and people are very nice and that the staff is attentive to his needs. Also, he comments that his room is cleaned daily, that his laundry is taken care of and that the meals are good. He occasionally will chuckle and say that the facility is deluxe and top notch. I speak with him daily and he is upbeat about the facility and staff. I do agree with him on all points; I have been very pleased with his care and well-being. My father does participate in the daily activities at the facility and this keeps him busy. I do wish he had more to do in the evening but the staff tries to do their best with him to try and suit his needs. With the current pandemic, Artis has done an exceptional job so far in keeping residents safe. I appreciate the hard work the staff is undertaking and personal sacrifices they are making to keep it that way. Thank you!!

Placing my father in a dementia care facility was something I prayed I would never have to do. Although dementia has robbed him of so much, we still see him as the greatest father in the world. After visiting quite a few facilities, we chose Artis. It is bright and clean. The staff are friendly, caring and understand how to care for dementia patients. Although it is a secure facility, it doesn't have a locked in feel. My father has been at Artis for two months now. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the entire staff. They treat my dad like family. They call him by name. They genuinely care about him. He is clean. His room is clean. He participates in activities like exercise class, bingo, noodle ball, movies and more. He is happy and comfortable. No, it isn't home. But I feel that it is as close to home as it can possibly be. I know he is safe. I know he is cared for. I know he will not wander away. Thank you to every single member of the Artis staff.
