Allegria at the Oaks – Reviews
My Aunt arrived at Allegria yesterday. She has been sick and in and out of the hospital and nursing care facilities for the last few months, before making it to Allegria. Leigha, Erin, and Trent from Allegria have been on top of her progress the entire time, staying in touch with her family, and reassuring us the entire time. Allegria is a very nice, clean place with tons of activities and great staff. We are so grateful to everyone there for their kindness and compassion. I would highly recommend Allegria at the Oaks if you need somewhere for your loved one to get the extra care they need
Moved my father to Allegria almost 2 months ago and we have seen a big improvement with his social skills and health since then. He lived alone for 3 years, since my Mother died, and now, hes eating 3 meals a day, socializing again, and enjoying life. He has dementia, but is able to take care of his personal needs. Hes in the Independent Living area, so I cannot comment on the Memory Care area. Of all the places we searched for, this is the only one that he could afford and the area is very suburban and not like living in an institution. Whenever I needed something, the Maintenance Team took care of his needs and the Nursing Staff is kind. The administration team is very friendly and helpful when I ask dumb questions (its not like Ive done this before). Thank you to the staff for taking great care of dad.
My dad became a resident at Allegria in September of 2020. I have ZERO complaints. They take excellent care of my father and that puts my mind at ease. It was a very hard decision to place him in a facility but I have no regrets. I am able to call and be updated with no issues whatsoever. I also do virtual visits through the activities director so I can see my dad (he looks so good☺) and have a some face-to-face interaction. I am very pleased with the care that my father gets there. I wish I can thank all of the staff, nurses and aids by name but I dont want to leave anyone out. Thank you ALL for taking such wonderful care of my dad you all are truly a blessing. Thank you so very much.
Id like to start by thanking the staff at Allegria at the Oaks for the care they have shown my family member as well as the renovations the renovations they completed a few months ago. I read a few of the negative reviews and feel its very disturbing when people use a forum like this to clearly try and sabotage a business instead of being honest about the pros and cons. This type of activity is juvenile and degrades the purpose of having a great review platform like google. I hope people who read the reviews that are clearly inaccurate realize this. I am passionate about this because Ive had a great experience watching my family members quality of life significantly improve in the last several months hes been at Allegria. He is in the memory care section. The staff have many activities and even bring in outside entertainment for the residents. I really feel what makes this place amazing is the staff. They know the residents by name and seem like they truly care when they speak with them. Thank you staff.
My parents were residents of Oaks from October 2016 until my mom passed away in May 2018 (my dad had passes away in November 2017). They had always resisted the idea of living anywhere other than at home. However, it was becoming increasingly difficult for for me to care for them and I eventually had to quit my job in order to be home with them. They ended up suffering concurrent falls on Labor Day and and were taken to Aria-Torresdale hospital. The doctor informed us that it was no longer safe for them to live at home and the social worker at the hospital placed them in a local nursing home. It soon became apparent to me this was not the type of facility where I wanted my parents to spend their final years They were not even able to share the same room together after being married for 70 years.Quite by accident I found Allegria at the Oaks and was very impressed by the tour I received of the facility. It was clean, bright, and cheerful and the residents I spoke with all appeared very happy.. i was able to transfer my parents to this facility within a couple of weeks and they were so happy to be in the same room. They involved themselves in various activities and were offered and also enjoyed dining with other residents while their health permitted. They enjoyed the company of both staff and residents alike. As their health declined over time the level of care they required increased and the Oaks staff provided excellent care for my parents. I myself visited every morning and got to know many of these caring staff members on a personal level as well. My dad passed away rather quickly after his kidneys rejected his dialysis treatments and Oaks welcomed hospice services for my mom during her final 6 months and worked in conjunction with the hospice staff.
My grandfather, god bless his soul, had to be put into a home. We were hesitant at first but I must say the care and compassion that Allegria has shown to our dear pops made all doubts fade away. He would always talk about how great the food was and how nice the nurses were to him. No matter what he needed they always helped with a smile and were nothing but helpful throughout his entire stay. Every time we went to visit the nurses sat down with us and gave us a full summary of how he was doing, and they were very open and helpful with us in general. Their recent renovations are gorgeous as well and add to the pleasantness of my grandad's stay. Highly recommended!! Great staff!!
We visited Allegria at the Oaks, the experience was very positive. The lady who gave us the tour was in charge of admissions and marketing. She was a very young at heart and lively lady who gave us a very good review and a good picture of what the community was like. They were updating and working on the facilities to make them more attractive. The residents had nice, big rooms. There was a shed out back and very pretty surroundings. It's for people who love a country setting. We didn't choose it because my brother-in-law grew up in the Bronx and likes to go to Wawa and places like that, and there's nothing for him like that in this community. He'd feel confined there. The place itself, the kind of care, and the personal interaction between the staff and residents was great. It's a great place and would be perfect for someone else. I saw a couple of rooms that were larger than average compared to the other places we saw.
I toured the memory care of Allegria at the Oaks. I liked it, but I was a little disappointed that they're doing some construction inside, though they made it sound like they're only doing it for two weeks. Their dining area was also under construction, but that's the kind of thing you can't help when somebody else takes over. I guess I was just disappointed because I have visited several places and they're my favorite one, and they didn't call me the next day. The place itself was OK, but because of the whole package, I liked what I saw.
Highly recommend this place for anyone who has a loved one with dementia. The staff are amazing and they know how to help the residents there transition. The daily activities there help their minds. According to my grandmother, the food is great there! You can personalize their bedrooms to make it feel like home! Very thankful to have found this place for my nana.
Mom has been a resident since mid-February. The thoughtfulness and caring from everyone from the director to the assistants is extraordinary. Even with her difficulties in walking and managing her personal care, she's in very good hands. She really does enjoy it at Allegria. <3
The care they have given my grandmother has been great! Never thought we could get her to transition from her home of 60+ years to here. The staff works very hard to get their residents to feel like they are at home. The activities/games that are done there are great! Keeps their minds going! My grandmother talks about how good the food is. Personalizing her room was fun! We made her room feel like home with furniture from her house and etc.. We can call anytime Of the day to ask how she is doing! Highly recommend this facility!!
Love this community! My mom is there. Home away from home is the best way to describe it. Also, I love the new renovations.
When searching for a home for my sister with early onset dementia, the check list was a long one. Upon walking in to Allegria @ the Oaks we instantly felt at home . The care and concern for each resident is what set Allegria apart from other communities I have toured. My sister is happy and that makes me happy ??. Good luck to you in your search !
Thank you for always taking great care of my grandmother. She mentions how wonderful the staff are when we visit her. The residents need smiles and laughs, and that is accomplished with the great care of the staff members. Thank you again, i know it isnt easy

Good care. Good food. Clean.
I would like to thank all of the staff for the care and caring that you showed my mother, Kay D. We are all so sad that Mom has passed yesterday but we know that she was well taken care of and cared for.
Oaks was big with close to 100 residents. They had some single rooms, but more were companion rooms, which would not have been the right fit for my mother. The person I talked to was new, so it was more of a perfunctory tour. There was an entertainer at that time, which the residents were enjoying. They had a very nice menu and choice of selections, so that was nice. It was in a residential area that was not in walking distance to stores.
My father has been at Oaks for over 5 years. He just turned 103 years old 2 weeks ago. He and my mother entered the facility together, they were both in the assisted living section upon entering. I was very pleased with the care they both received, especially mom at the time. If a concern was brought to their attention, it was remedied. Since entering, they have restructured and redecorated. They grounds are wonderful. The first floor was redesigned for memory care, which my father has recently been moved to. I am so pleased with that transition. He seems happier and more involved with the activities. More difficult for him was not speaking English and being able to communicate, but the staff went out of their way to include him. They even have a Russian speaking activities person who has been a God send. I am there just about every day at dinner. The food looks appetizing and nutritious, menu options are given every day for anyone who might want something different. Thank you to the caring staff and employees !
It is a very nice place. We hated putting mom in a home but had no choice when her condition became worse. The staff take very good care of her.
The people at Oaks of Bensalem are extremely caring, the staff is very efficient, and the facility itself had kind of a warmth to it -- kind of like an extended home for my mother-in-law. She was there for a 2-week respite care, and she ended up having a roommate. They became very good friends, so she had a very good experience while she was there. We had lunch there one day, and it was very good. They had the Olympics on in the evening for the people, and every night they watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, Bingo and parlor games. One woman across the hall from my mother-in-law has a son who plays the harp for people for an hour and a half, so she really enjoyed that.
The Oaks of Bensalem is a nice facility. The rooms are nice. The food is good, and she is happy there. The whole place is nice. There are a few things that we are a little surprised about, but overall it is a good place. I will say we are satisfied with the care. I will recommend them to others.
The staff is amazing! The care is top notch and the facilities are gorgeous!
Grandma at Oaks for 8 mos I'm disappointed in some things and happy in other regards. Let's start with the 'happy'. The staff is friendly & kind and engages the residents in interesting activities daily. The dining room is bright and cheerful. The renovations appear complete and are lovely. The renovations went beyond just some new plants & wall hangings; they completely ripped out the living room and dining room- floor and all. The 'wrist watch style' call system is a nice addition to the routine staff visits which are typically every 2 hrs even if the resident hasn't called. The residents wear this watch and push a single button when they need help of any kind. The 'disappointed part' is Bucks County Dept of Health reports. Although they are working to resolve issues, it seems slower that I would have liked. The wrist watch style 'call device' experienced a system crash and is not repairable. In the interim during replacement, residents were each issued a 'bell hop style' desk bell. Doors are encouraged to be left ajar when possible since many residents have a personal tv in their room and its noise level can be an issue. The staff routine check-in visits were increased to 30min intervals during call bell replacement. I last visited 3 days ago. At the time, I had asked two different staff members but could not tell me when the new call system would be in place. Maybe I didn't ask the right person. Today I received news that the new call system would go-live by tomorrow. That is good news.
