Our family has been incredibly grateful for the care and support provided by this facility over the past three years. Transitioning a loved one into long-term care is never easy, especially when navigating the challenges of dementia, but the staff made the process as smooth and reassuring as possible from the very beginning. Everyone has been accommodating, compassionate, and responsive throughout the admission process and during my grandmother's residency. The facility has a genuine family atmosphere, and it is always easy to reach staff members when questions or concerns arise. Communication has been consistent, and it is clear that the residents are treated with dignity, respect, and kindness. Most importantly, my grandmother has been very well cared for throughout her time here. Knowing that she is safe, supported, and surrounded by people who genuinely care about her well-being has provided our family with tremendous peace of mind. We sincerely appreciate all that the staff does each day and would highly recommend this facility to other families seeking quality care for their loved ones.

This is a continuation of the above review. They immediately welcomed him with open arms (literally and figuratively). They not only made him feel welcome but all of his family as well. They worked with us to incorporate his daily routine into the routine there, adjusting meds, and meals and items of comfort. They encouraged him at mealtime, even feeding him when necessary (he was a terrible eater). The staff was kind, respectful, attentive and loving to him. We all visited at various times during the day and we always found him to clean, shaven(mostly), and comfortable. As he got more ill, Nyala and the staff set up hospice for him in a matter of hours so he could pass at "home" in his bed. We are very grateful for the heartwarming care our dad received during the last months of his life. Thank you all, A&B. P.S. If you are looking for a fancy place with all the bells and whistles you probably won't love this place. The value is in the care and dignity given to everyone here

Above and Beyond is truly true to its name. My father-in-law spent the last year and a half of his life here and received exceptional care in every possible way. He genuinely enjoyed being there and was deeply appreciative of everything that was done for him. He was originally expected to have only six months to live, but thanks to the incredible care he received, he far exceeded those expectations. He was back to walking on his own, driving, and even going to the gym right up until the final couple of months of his life. He constantly raved about how wonderful everyone was to him and how much he loved the food. He truly called it his home. We are so incredibly thankful for every single person there. We could write pages on the amazing things they all did for him and for our family. We can’t begin to express how grateful and blessed we were to have him there, and we would wholeheartedly recommend Above and Beyond to anyone looking for a place for themselves or a loved one.

As many families already know, the journey once a family member is diagnosed with Dementia has it's many challenges. My father was not an easy person to manage and the only facility that guaranteed our family that they could manage him was Nylia and the Above and Beyond Staff. We started our journey together 3 years ago and soon began to know we were truly blessed to have the loving support of everyone at Above and Beyond. We as a family never doubted that my father wasn't loved or cared for especially by the Memory Care and Hospice Staff. We as a family found peace when my father Charles passed away in January. Words can't express our appreciation and gratitude to everyone at Above and Beyond. We would recommend Above and Beyond to anyone looking for a loving and supportive place for your family member.

My husband was in a horrible rehab and I needed to get him out of there asap. I was so blessed when a friend told me about Above and Beyond at the Knights. Within 10 minutes, I was on the phone with Nyla. She came to see Bill and accepted him for residency that week. Since then, he has been more comfortable than in his two hospital stays. A&B is exceptional in their care. I go there daily and I am brought up-to-date on his condition. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. A&B knows how to deal with it. I leave there daily feeling confident Bill will be in good hands with the excellent staff until I return the next day. Nyla is always in good communication with me. I have peace of mind now. God Bless the employees of A&B for the great job they do. I am so grateful. They do go "Above and Beyond".

Three years ago, I would have given this facility, a much higher rating. But their turnover of staff has caused a shift in my opinion. The current administration has been uncooperative and supplying requested information and communication with the family has been lacking.

My father and my Aunt have been residents at Above and Beyond at the Knights for about 3 years in their Memory Care unit. Naila and the staff are extraordinary! From Nicki, at the front desk, who greets you with a big smile and a warm welcome to Amal, Fufu, Tess and the rest of the amazing nurses, aids and support staff; they truly go above and beyond! They really care about the residents and treat them like family with dignity and respect. I can’t reccomend Above and Beyond enough! My Mom has been in the memory care area of A&B since 2022. She transferred from another facility that said they could no longer meet her needs. From day one, the care here has been excellent. She is always, clean, well-fed, and treated with dignity and kindness. The staff are dedicated, attentive, compassionate and loving from Nikki at the front desk, to aides like Amal, Sarah and all the others. Naila leads by example and is on top of each of the residents needs. It is clear they genuinely care about the residents and treat this as their home. The building may not be flashy, but the level of care and attention is what truly matters. After experiencing several types of senior living, I can confidently say A&B is truly above and beyond in care.

I am compelled to rebut the completely unjust and bizarre reviews of Above and Beyond at the Knights (A&B) provided by my sister Linda Findlay and her son Brett Findlay. My Mother was moved into A&B after hospital discharge because she was unable to return to assisted living. It was unexpected, but we did as much diligence as possible and selected A&B after many discussions. Naila, the director, assured us that Mom would never need to be moved from that facility regardless of her condition. And that condition deteriorated over the next months and A&B provided the dramatic and necessary increase in care at all times. During my visits, I was overwhelmingly impressed with the caring attitude of everyone at the facility. Whether it was the Director, Naila, who knew everything about every resident, or the maintenance and kitchen staff and certainly those whose hands touched my Mom, the amount of caring was truly unbelievable. There was never an instance where I second guessed the decision to place Mom at this facility I would recommend A&B without hesitation.

Above and Beyond at the Knights is a Senior Living community in Allentown that takes pride in providing dignified care for their residents as if they were taking care of their own loved ones. Naila, her staff, and her family are dedicated to providing the best quality of life for the rest of the residents life in an active community that caters to providing personalized care for each and every resident. I visit A&B at The Knights often as well as visiting many other communities in the Lehigh Valley area. I highly recommend A&B at the Knights as one of the most caring communities around. This review is written as an endorsement of Above and Beyond at the Knights (A&B) in Allentown, PA, and their Director, Naila Furiccia. Unfortunately, my sister, L Findlay, has continued to speak out unfairly against this fine facility, and has been joined by her son, Brett. When Brett says that they should be investigated, the point is that my sister filed twenty-six (26) complaints with state agencies against A&B. State regulations require that every complaint be investigated. The Area on Aging and Department of Health and Human services investigated each and every complaint and found no substantiation on every one of the complaints that my sister initiated. They never found A&B in any violation or substandard level of care. This is in keeping as to what my brothers and I found on every one of our (dozens) of visits. Every time any one of us visited our Mom we found her well-treated. She was clean, her clothes were clean, the residence was clean and she was well fed. Any questions that we had, or that my sister expressed, were responded to by the Director, Naila Furiccia, to our satisfaction. It should be clarified that Linda was restricted at times from seeing our Mom with the unanimous consensus/support of my brothers and me. After much thought each time, we felt this was necessary due to the fact that her disruptive actions during visits often led to hyperactive delirium symptoms by our Mom. A&B followed up on this restriction with the full support of my brothers and me. Of interest is that when my sister visited our Mom on March 4, 2025, she predicted that Mom would be lucky to live 2 more months. She lived nine (9) more months. My brothers and I believe that this is a testimony to the level of care and compassion offered by Naila and her staff. We have continually reviewed whether we made the right decision in entrusting the care of our Mother to A&B and we have continually agreed that if we had to make that decision again, we would entrust Mom’s care to Above and Beyond at the Knights.

I had been the point man’ in regards to getting my mother in Above and Beyond at the Knights . She had been moved there after a brief hospitalization. Her prior place of residence was not fully equipped to deal with my mothers’ increased Alzheimer’s symptoms. Through numerous, positive recommendations, our family decided that Above and Beyond was best suited to deal with her deteriorating mental state. I met with Naila, the owner of Above and Beyond,for approximately 90 minutes prior to my mother being admitted there. In that 90 minute time span, Naila not only listened and answered all my questions, but I saw her interact with many residents, as she saw they were in some form of distress(mind you, she self-interrupted our meeting to deal with these issues). Her sense of compassion and caring was genuine and, at that moment, I realized that this was the best place for my mom to be. My sister had made 26 grievance complaints about Above and Beyond to various state agencies, while my mom resided there-and these had all been unsubstantiated. There was no indication of neglect or abuse, and it was found that all these accusations had no basis in fact. Despite fighting these negative, bogus allegations,Naila continued to provide excellent care for our mother, ensuring that she was safe-and most importantly, well taken care of. It is no wonder that my sister had given a rating of 1 star as her complaints had been overshadowed by the fact that our mother had been , all along ,well cared for. Although there is no perfect place’, I feel that Above and Beyond deserves recognition as a place of compassion and caring and has the residents’ best interests at heart, and deserves a higher rating.

Naila and her staff provided thoughtful and amazing care for my Mother-In-Law during her last year of life. They carefully brought her out of an extreme case of hospital-induced delirium, accepting her when her previous care facility and others denied her admittance due to her state of delirium. A&B was highly recommended to the family by folks in the senior care industry, as well as reviewers. She often told us how nice they treated her, and she shared with us details about activities that made her feel at home and special. She felt she had an important place in her memory care area. The staff, especially her primary caregiver and the director, Naila, were very attentive to her needs and treated her like family. She was clean - her clothes were clean, and she smelled clean; the facility was clean and never smelled, and she was eating well. These were important indicators of good care. As her disease progressed, the family added Hospice palliative care; adding more eyes and hearts attending to her needs. This gave us more insight into her care, and we continued to feel that the decision to place her at Above and Beyond was the right decision, and those who cared for her earned their name “ they did demonstrate care that went above and beyond for her comfort and dignity.

Naila and her staff were wonderful with my dad, who was in their care for dementia and lung cancer until his passing. During the few months he was there, he never seemed upset or neglected”quite the opposite. He often talked about how great the food was and always smiled when the staff brought him out for our visits. Naila was consistently courteous, kind, and genuinely caring throughout this difficult time, which meant so much to our family. They have been conscientiously caring for her and the owner, Naila, is so loved and appreciated by our family that we have trust in her observations and judgment in all situations, including covid, and she and her loving staff pulled through successfully. My Great Grammy was here for quite a few years. She made friends with many of the supportive staff members and residents. They truely made her feel like she was family. She loved bingo and her jewelry and when she passed away we donated some of her jewelry to the residents. They had a special memorial jewelry bingo in honor of my Grammy. I thought that was the sweetest idea. They always went above and beyond and helped with any questions or concerns we had.

My Mother-in-Law is a very stubborn lady! She has had health issues caused by her stubbornness to do the right thing. The team at Above and Beyond have worked miracles with getting her to comply and doing the right thing for herself. After a hospital stay we sent her to a rehab to get her strength back and they did nothing for her - we got her back to Above and Beyond and she is almost fully recovered. They have worked with us, kept us informed, tried different ideas until we came up with the combination that worked! I can't thank them enough for all the extra attention they gave to my Mother-in-Law when she really needed it. We almost lost her and now she is thriving. THANK YOU ABOVE And BEYOND! I originally wrote a harsh review of Above and Beyond, one year ago, that I would like to retract. I wrote it at a time when our mother was not herself (to say the least) and my brother and I were so upset and half crazy, not knowing what to do to rein in the rage of her dementia and provide reasonable care for her. Naila, owner of ABK, took a special interest in mom and focussed her laser-beam attention on getting her more balanced. Gradually, Mom began to be more manageable and more herself, but I don't think it would have happened in another facility, and we visited many in the area in our attempt to find the best place for mom. Under Naila's care and with the help of kind, determined, caring staff members, mom eventually reached a point of equilibrium and rationality where she remains today. We don't know what we would have done without the attention and kindness paid to mom during the most difficult and challenging times in her journey through dementia, and in our own lives in terms of her care. I can only say I wish I had counted to ten at least ten times before I wrote that harsh review a year ago. That is my only regret as far as ABK is concerned. Granted, it's not the Taj Mahal, but personal care delivered in a loving and supportive way, is so much more important than crystal chandeliers and fake portraits. ABK has a heart bigger than the building it is housed in and we are at peace knowing mom ended up in a good place. I don't think there is a better place for our sweet mom than ABK. Many, many thanks to Naila and her staff.
