My mom recently spend 2 months here after a hospital stay. She received a lot of good physical therapy. The staff, PT and nursing, were both very kind and attentive to her needs. She felt everyone was very friendly and caring. The facility was clean, if not a little run down on the outside. She was very happy there. Her only complaint was that the food wasn't very good, or we would give 5 stars. Overall she would be happy to stay again if need be, and she misses the staff members Updated review: I changed it to 5 stars. She had to stay again recently and I was able to spend more time here, the staff is truly amazing and cared for her so thoroughly as well as always addressed my concerns. I would send her here again anytime if she needed it.

My 8-week stay at Laurelhurst was, on the whole, a very pleasant experience. The staff were excellent ” attentive, cheerful, and genuinely committed to meeting my daily needs without complaint. A few team members truly stood out and deserve recognition by name: Venus, who was my nurse for several days and was wonderful throughout; Vee, a nurse originally from Micronesia, who brought warmth and skill to every shift; Amelia, Jos© and Lorrie, CNAs who were reliable, caring, and always there when I needed them; and Andrew in Physical Therapy, who worked diligently to get me ready for discharge and did so with great professionalism. The food was generally pretty good. There were a couple of meals I couldn't quite identify, but I kept a personal stash of salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash, mayonnaise, and mustard ” sourced from the break room ” and a few added seasonings made everything quite enjoyable. My one area of disappointment was wound care. The physician and wound care team took longer than I had hoped to become fully engaged, and since that was the primary reason for my admission, I would have liked to see it addressed more promptly and consistently from the start. Overall, after the noise and bustle of the hospital, Laurelhurst offered a quieter, more peaceful recovery environment. The compassionate staff made a real difference, and I'm grateful for the care I received.

Avoid taking your loved one to this place if you have a choice. They will prioritize profit over taking care of your loved one. And they do not rehab people. They watch them. The staff is nice yet unorganized. Management is a joke. They do not coordinate with wherever your loved one is coming from after surgery. You can't reach anyone about serious matters. I honestly believe the place should be shut down or investigated.

I’m not sure I’ve visited a more friendly, pristine, professional environment. Visited a friend and was immediately greeted like a guest as opposed to an inconvenience that I’ve experienced other places.

Still here. I have had stuff stolen from my room while back at kaiser for 9 days. A kitchen staff member threw out my gallon of milk that I just bought. Now my glass container with butter can't be found. No one is helping me find out about that. The food is THE WORST HERE. I wouldn't feed my dog this food!!!!!!!

I visited a friend here today and was very impressed with the staff here. They did not look overworked or rushed at all. The center was clean, the rooms were large and comfortable and the air smelled fresh and nice.

Having never been to a rehab facility before I had no idea what to expect. Laurelhurst Village far exceeded anything I could have imagined. The rooms were large, accommodating and kept exceptionally clean by the friendly staff. And the staff itself is professional and caring in their service to you. After a few days it was like one happy family for me be it the doctors, the RNs, simply everybody who was employed gave it their best and it was obvious. I highly recommend this facility to anyone headed for rehab. Oh, and the food was quite acceptable.

I was a patient at Laurelhurst Village for months while I was recovering from a badly fractured ankle, while my husband was out of town. I can't say enough good things about the facility. The people, food, and my room looking out on the patio and lawn were totally outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone!

Can't say anything about the business itself but I'm an Uber driver and have delivered here a few times. Be careful in their parking lot. If you're going east bound off stark into the parking lot There's speed bump that has a pot hold like right behind it, GO OVER IT WITH SERIOUS CAUTION. We went over the speed bump and our cars body literally smacked off of the edge pot hole when we went in because itt was so deep and so sudden. You can't see the pothole behind the speed bump because it's basically attached to it.

I moved my brother in here a little over a year ago. The staff is amazing and take good care of him. His mother moved in here shortly after because of how well they were taking care of her oldest son. I have zero complaints.

In August 2023 my 90 year old mother was at Laurelhurst Village for ten days. After a horrific experience at a previous rehab, we were relieved she was being placed at Laurelhurst Village as we had heard very good comments on the facility. All in all, it was a good experience for my mother. At times she would have to wait a bit for the staff to come and help her to the bathroom. However, when spending many hours there each day with my mother, it was apparent the staff were short handed and doing their best. The staff were all very warm, friendly and caring toward my mother and they are a tremendous asset to the facility. My hope is that administration will work hard to take good care of the staff as otherwise, all you have is a building. Thank you ALL for taking good care of my mother!

My mother is staying in the Rehabilitation and Recovery Building. From my understanding, they're short staffed right now, which explains why sometimes my mom has to wait so long to get assistance going to the bathroom, etc. Initially, I gave 3 stars. The 4th star is for a select few of CNA's who have been absolutely wonderful to my mother. Other CNA's are clearly here just to get a paycheck and don't seem to like their job. I would like to give a huge thanks to Diego, who has remained professional, respectful, compassionate and prompt when caring for my mom. He has been an absolute delight! There's a couple others who have been very kind and caring but I don't know their names. Thank you, to the select few CNA's who bring a smile and some laughs to my mother's room while she is there. It means everything to her and to us’

I was at Laurelhurst Village for a month while recovering from a car accident. I had a great experience there the nurses and CNAs were extremely attentive. The staff was able to get me transportation to and from for my follow up appointments off site. I also received OT and PT which was extremely great in speeding up my recovery and getting ready to be independent. I would not have an worries if I had a family member going to Laurelhurst Village.

I was admitted directly from the orthopedic floor at a Kaiser hospital. I was put in a private and very quiet room. I didn’t expect to get so much attention but a variety of personal from administrative to service came to my room to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. I was reassured that my safety was of primary importance. The nurse and CNA made sure that I knew who they were and what to expect from them for the rest of the day. The staff continued to be attentive for the rest of my stay (6 days and nights). The healing process was definitely helped and I was on the road to recovery at discharge.

In November 2020 i had a spinal surgery and ended up in the skilled nurse facility for about 5 months.. Yes it was difficult for the first few weeks as it was my first time experiencing the type of situation.. But as I reside at resident a bit longer i was very well taken care of. My mother has been there and reports a poor expierence. Horrible food, and requests for alternate options such as basic salad are denied by folks who work there, who are less than friendly or helpful. Requests for assistance to use the toilet take 20+ minutes and have multiple times resulted in accidents. Don't feel that her dignity is promoted hear in the least bit. A little more kindness would go a long way.

Once upon a time this was a beautiful place to live. I enjoyed driving onto the property the upkeep was great. The parking was maintained unauthorized visitors parked where they were supposed to. The property is now unkept trash is everywhere. Residents don't pick up after themselves. Unauthorizrd visitors park where ever they want leaving residents without parking spots. We pay a decent ammount for rent but, it's not reflected in the maintenance of the building and grounds. My hope is once we move into.a different phase of the virus things will be restored.

My 98-year-old father has had two recent stays in Skilled Nursing at Laurelhurst Village, and we can't say enough good things about them. All of the nurses and caregivers were kind and compassionate, not just to the residents but also to my sister and me. Because Dad has dementia he can present problems for care facilities, but at LHV they treated him with dignity and kindness, and he loved it there! The nurses were never too busy to answer our questions, and kept us well-informed on any changes in Dad's condition. The social worker we dealt with was also extremely helpful and responsive, and enjoyable to work with. Dad had stayed at another rehab facility prior to this one, and we can say without a doubt that the staff at LHV was far more professional and caring. From management, to the nursing staff, to the business office, and the friendly people at the front desk, we feel like LHV was committed to providing us with a positive experience.

I have a sad and cautionary tale for anyone considering the use of Laurelhurst for a loved one. My grandmother has had multiple admissions to Laurelhurst in the last 5 years, and her current admission has been an absolute disaster. My grandmother is essentially immobile after a substantial injury. The nursing staff never saw fit to move my grandmother at a regular interval to avoid a pressure sore. My grandmother is a RN and mentally sharp, and articulated to me at a recent visit, that she knew she was developing a sore. I had spent 4 hours with her that morning, and not once did a CNA come to move my grandmother to change her position in the bed. I was concerned, could not pin down her nurse or a CNA, so I called the social worker who seemed concerned and said she would alert the nursing staff. I called my parents, and they played phone tag with the charge nurse who denied the existence of a sore. Fast forward a few days, my grandmother was in the same clothes that I had picked out for her 2.5 days earlier, they were dirty and my heart was broken. My mom (who is also a RN) demanded to know why my grandmother wasn’t being moved, the came in and exposed my grandmothers backside to expose a pressure ulcer. Not once did this nurse check when she said that she did, and the social worker never followed up with my concern. If you have a loved one at Laurelhurst who needs a higher level of care, it is imperative that the family stays as alert and strongly advocates for the loved one. It shouldn’t work that way, but sadly, it does. Now my grandma is stuck there until the sore heals as no permanent facility will take her in her current state. My grandma has physically and mentally deteriorated from her time at Laurelhurst. We got the administrator involved. He is kind, caring, and took charge of the situation. However, the nursing staff should never have let it get to this point, and despite our entire family being heavily involved, it wasn’t a match for the poor nursing care. 2 stars for a quality administrator and decent facility... nothing more though.

I was in rehab here four years ago; my sister was here in assisted living three years ago. We both had MAGNIFICENT care and I recommend it without reservation. The staff was compassionate,, wholly professional and attentive. I DID NOT WRITE THE REVIEW QUOTED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE REVIEWS , and I have no idea who is responsible for the use of my name, especially since I have not contacted Laurelhurst since my sister passed away over two years ago.

This place is great. It is located in the City, convenient to family and homes, and has very good care. Our aunt was a resident here in the assisted living portion, but she had an illness, she was able to be in skilled nursing all on the same site. This helped her as her friends were nearby and also helped family who were able to visit. It was a very nice place for her.

Family member reports most of CNA's take up to 45 minutes to respond to call button. During my visits, they came shuffling in room with an attitude of "I don't care". Never smile, depressing to look at and make you feel like you are a bother. Unreal, do not come here! If I was in charge, I would fire the lead charge nurse as that person is the "leader" and her job performance reflects all the CNA's problems. Are there no consequences for poor job performances? The answer is NO and the CNA's know it. I want to slap em all.
