Overall a good experience. These places are never fun, but all the staff members were kind to my husband. I think like everyone else on the planet these days, they're understaffed, but they were as attentive as possible and would listen to and address any concerns we had. Better than other facilities I've dealt with. I hope you never need to make use of this kind of facility, but if you do I would recommend this over others

The staff is generally excellent. Physical therapy is top notch. The main problems are that they, like many other businesses, have staffing shortages. The remaining problem is that the diet is not diabetic friendly but it can be adjusted. The kitchen staff has adjusted my meals with caring attention.

Staying in a skilled nursing facility is never on anyones wish list. That being said, I am so grateful for my relative's 2 week rehab experience at Royal Gardens. I can compare this with two other facilities in the Medford area and would choose Royal Gardens again. From the start our Social Worker Celine was proactive and set up a group phone conference to discuss my loved one's care plan. Myself, patient, and representative from Physical Therapy were all present with Celine. I was given contact info for the floor manager and nursing staff and welcomed to call at any time. Some of the helpful conditions at Royal Gardens included: *Easy phone transfer to room from front reception. *Single not shared room *A recliner in the room *Well organized activities like Bingo. *Staff happy to walk patient to the dining room for meals - better social experience than tray service to room. *Well coordinated therapy with OT, PT and Social services. *Arranged Dr. appts with Dentist and Ophthalmologist as well as transportation while residing at RG. *Medications were handled well. My loved one is doing well back home. Thank you again Celine for involving me and keeping me informed throughout my loved one's stay. I deeply appreciate all the staffs had work , kindness and team coordination.

My cousin was in hospice care through the VA. Everyone was very nice. It certainly takes an exceptional person to work with people who have chronic illnesses or are dying, on a daily basis. The administrator's door was always open and Janelle, the social services person, went above and beyond. All nursing staff was exceptional especially when I got the call from Charity, she was very compassionate and genuinely concerned. The front desk staff were very helpful and kind. Everyone was great. My mom is at this facility following an injury to her thigh and hip which was exceptionally painful and left her immobile on her own. The staff have been so compassionate and caring while addressing moms needs, from physical therapy to daily hygiene, medication requests, etc. This odd a fair size facility and everywhere you look you see a sea of employees with varying jobs busily working to assist the patients and with a focus on their comfort which means so much when the patient is someone who means the world to you. Another review here mentioned a two hr wait for her mom's Tylenol. That emergency's do occur and the staff is on top of the needs based on most in need to lead as it should be. I'm sorry if your mom needed the Tylenol but, if her waiting meant another patient's life was kept from being lost or their need was to be transported to the hospital, then where else would you expect them to be?? It isn'ta matter of not caring for your mom's needs but, rather caring for the needs of the most critical to the least... It gives me peace of mind to know this and it should you as well.

Great physical therapy staff. Food sucks, short staffed. My mom had to wait 2 hours for Tylenol!!! Took forever to get some one there to help her when she needed to go to the bathroom. They forgot to give her a shower 1 and 1/2 weeks when she finally did get a shower!!! Asked for a better more comfortable chair for my dad the said they would but never did. He ended up bringing his own in so he could stay with her. Concrete block building so very cold. Had to bring in extra blankets for her to keep her warm. I would not advise staying there. She broke her hip and was there for 1 month. They wanted her to stay another 3 weeks but she checked her self out and I and my dad too care of her. She is much better at home least she gets the care she needs when needed!

While this the last place I wanted to be after breaking my hip once I accepted that I needed help I came to enjoy my stay and, in particular, appreciated my nurses, PTs, OTs, and CNAs. They put me through my paces so that when I went home I was able to manage while still needing a walker etc. to get around. In fact the first couple of days at home I wish I was still there! While no one wants to imagine ever having to need a nursing home this experience proved that I could actually enjoy my life if and when it comes to that. Thank you so much.
