I absolutely love everything about Shorewood Senior Living. I started looking for independent living for my mom back in 2025. At that time I was living in Hawai’i and my mom was in Florida. My husband and I knew we were moving to Florence in February (2026) Both Kelly and Andrea were extremely helpful! I secured a unit for my mom and when she arrived the end of March she wanted a larger apartment. Andrea and Kelly made it happen! My mom moved in middle of April. Unfortunately, at that time the cancer came roaring back and she passed on May 3rd. Everyone was so kind, helpful and very caring. I cannot express how lovely everyone who works and lives there are!

6/25/26 update Brought an elderly neighbor with me today to a promo lunch . Hes 88 and doesn't want to do yard work anymore and is getting lonely . I,ve been at 5 events here in the last 2 years The staff members here and in every department are selfless and will help you with your needs Checked out the laundry room : Newer large capacity washers and dryers. use included for residents For a fee there is someone on site who will do your laundry for you . nice Again the food was outstanding , we had salmon salads with desserts and appetizers , i am in love LOL 2 / 19 /26 update Came by this week to sit in on their 1 hour Mardi Gras celebration , live music , great appetizers , drinks . had a good time . After the event I asked one of their staff [ Andrea Sanchez ] if she would show my friend and i a unit or two ' She was very accommodating , She showed us a one bedroom one bath , and a 2 bedroom 2 bath . I am impressed with the on command hot water [ meaning no hot water tank and stays hot as long as you want it to ] wall to wall carpets , sound resistant interior and common walls , dual pane windows , no outside noise , had to open the window to hear the birds lol . in fact we didn't hear any neighbors or people in the hallway , The salad bar even has artichoke hearts wow . 10 2025 update 6 stars Stopped in to have dinner with one of the residents , The clam chowder was very good , the salad bar is a class act , Jody and Kam took very good care of us Last year at the florence events center i won a free meal pass , Many months later i took them up on the offer . For dinner i ordered a cheese burger with chips , the fresh salad bar was better than most good restaurants , the burger was very good ,.the apple pie with icecream was out of this world , + great coffee . I think the servers name is john ? anyway , he was very nice and was always there when i needed something . I talked with several residences , they were all happy living there . I am 73 and may look into moving in . My impression is that this place is a class act

I have lived at Shorewood since September 2021, and I love this little community. As a very active 87-year-old, I appreciate the independence that Shorewood provides. I travel occasionally and feel completely comfortable leaving, knowing that my home is safe and well looked after while I'm away. I enjoy most of my meals in the communal dining room, but when I prefer some quiet time, I can simply order my meal to go—it's easy and hassle-free. The meals are delicious andhey are always open to suggestions for different meal ideas. The staff is exceptionally helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Small maintenance tasks are handled promptly, and staff members respond immediately whenever the emergency button is used, day or night. Regular housekeeping frees me from chores I no longer enjoy, and they would even change my sheets and do my laundry if needed. The common rooms are available for organizations I belong to, as well as for residents' families to gather for special occasions. The staff works tirelessly, seven days a week, to keep Shorewood clean, attractive, and welcoming. The laundry areas are equipped with upgraded commercial-size appliances, which is a wonderful convenience. Although I occasionally miss cooking, there is a fully equipped kitchen in one of the common rooms that residents can reserve and use when desired. Overall, Shorewood offers the perfect balance of independence, convenience, safety, and community. I am very happy to call it home and would highly recommend it to anyone considering senior living.

Came to check out the facilities with and for a family member in the market for A-living. They keep the property clean and trimmed. The staff was very friendly and was able to answer all our questions. The community was quite friendly as well, which is nice. We think it’s a great, clean friendly and quite place to call home.

The People at Shorewood are both caring and loving. My Mom and Dad have lived there for two years now. To be honest they get bored , however they no longer drive and they aren't much for joining in. My Mom does think of her front view as her yard and busies herself keeping it neat. She is proud of it. Both my parents are walkers. My Dad walks all the trails around Shorewood, both long and short. There are several stores and restaurants with in walking distance. They remain healthy and have good meals provided. Some special events are a plus for all the Seniors. I think Shorewood tries hard to keep everyone entertained. The Staff is very aware of everyone and their specific needs. They go the extra mile.

Shorewood does a great job in creating a connection with its residents. They do fun activities and keep the residents engaged in a variety of activities. It’s great to be able to chat with some of their residents when we go down to their building.

The Shorewood has been a warm and welcoming home for my Mom and Dad. From the first day when we toured the feeling of a very loving and happy place was evident. The staff are wonderful and the food is amazing. We love to visit and have lunch or dinner with my mom!! I am so happy we found the Shorewood!! They have tons of activities as well, and the residents can get involved as much as they want. I would recommend the Shorewood highly!!

My father was a resident at Shorewood for 15 months, until his passing. The residents and staff at Shorewood were more than kind. I cannot say enough good things about the culture of Shorewood! It’s a great place to live and thrive. During my dad’s last days, the staff were extremely thoughtful, respectful and loving with our family. Shorewood is the BEST!

Although the building is not new or fancy, Shorewood is filled with wonderfully kind and caring employees. My mother is a resident and makes repeated comments about how helpful and sweet the chef and servers in the kitchen, the people responsible for weekly cleaning, and especially the activity director have been to her. The executive director forever has my admiration and gratitude for her determination and relentless quest to provide the residents the earliest possible opportunity to receive the Covid vaccines. Staff members have been extraordinarily accommodating for my mother’s needs, and focused on doing whatever is best for her physical and mental welfare. Not only the staff, but a number of the residents have truly taken my mother under their wing. It may not be a beautiful and impressive building, but Shorewood has an amazing personality.

Shorewood Senior Living is the place to live in Florence for seniors wanting a great living experience. The living is top notch. The food is prepared by a very talented team. There are always fun activities. The residents are very friendly and eager to welcome you to Shorewood. The residents apartments are roomy and nicely decorated. Some even have patio's. The staff that assists the residents there are friendly and helpful. I think anyone would love the living at Shorewood Senior Living.

My grandparents lived there for a few years before they passed. The care they received was the best when they needed it. It was easy for them to adjust to living there and the place was nicely kept. My Grandma always commented on how she loved the staff as well as my Aunts when they went to see them. I'd recommend this place if your parents are in need of assisted living. You won't be disappointed.

My 91 year old father lives here and it is wonderful for him. The food is very good and the staff is so helpful and friendly. Dad is still active but this gives me the social outlet he needs plus I don't worry as there is always someone available and having restaurant style dining is wonderful. Really a nice place to live!

My mother-in-law lives here. She likes it really well and enjoys the food and socialization. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. They even lowered the closet rod and showerhead because she is quite tiny, without being asked.

Beth Webb the Manager is without reproach, and her kindness and consideration for all of the residents is a beautiful thing. Shorewood makes every effort to find the right solution for each resident and I cannot thank them enough. Beth rocks!

My 83 year old mother has resided at Shorewood Senior Living for a little over a year. Since she moved in she has required increasing levels of attention and care due to decreased mobility, progressive loss of memory, delusions, and overall failing health. My sister and I are delighted with the wealth of knowledge, support, guidance, and genuine care we’ve received from staff at Shorewood. It feels like we have an extended family all committed to provide the best quality of life for our mom. They customize her care to address her unique and specific needs. In addition to the family-like care that our mom gets, the facility itself is stellar. It’s top quality all the way and offers every type of amenity and life enriching experiences and activities you can think of. Shorewood truly does provide a first class experience in a first class facility.
