I normally avoid leaving reviews unless they’re positive, but Cascade has repeatedly requested one, so I’m sharing my experience. I’ve reached out to Management several times with my concerns and even offered to help resolve some of the issues. Each time, I’ve been ignored without acknowledgment. Overall, the facility is pleasant. It’s generally clean, and the residents seem content. However, one ongoing complaint I hear from nearly everyone is that the food is consistently cold and of poor quality. Mealtime is a major part of residents’ daily experience, and having it be a disappointment every single day is unacceptable. My mother has also had incidents where she’s fallen and cut herself, and her bandages go days without being checked or changed. Her room often looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed for weeks. These are basic care standards that should never be overlooked. The core issue is Management. I own four companies in town, and I know firsthand that the energy of an organization comes from the top. When leadership doesn’t care, the entire operation suffers. The residents here deserve better.

The staff at Cascades of Bend are caring and attentive. I had to quickly move my Mom from out of state, and they went above and beyond to assist in the process. The activities coordinator is great at her role. Front desk is friendly. The caregivers and overall staff pay attention and communicate well! I visit 1-2x a week and feel a real sense of community with the residents. They could often use extra staff and/or maybe server training for meals to help timeliness and flow of service, but overall a great place!

We can't say enough great things about everyone at Cascades of Bend. When your parent gets to that stage where they start needing help, you feel guilt, sadness, and even anger. Starting the process of moving them feels like betrayal. We felt like we were just putting mom into storage, like she was an inconvenience to us. We toured multiple places, but the staff here just felt better. After moving in, that intuition became a reality. We were amazed on day one that most of the staff had already learned her name. They all did little things to make her feel welcome. Like the lady with the prescriptions who always remembered mom liked a coffee with skim milk, or the front desk people who always smiled and said hi. Everyone here genuinely cared about making people feel welcome and nurtured. Moving mom out of her home nearly broke my heart, but moving her into Cascades mended it. She instantly took to her new home, smiling and making friends on day one. We couldn't have asked for a better place.

Finding a place you trust for someone you love isn’t easy, but Cascades of Bend has been a blessing. From day one, the staff has been warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Whether it’s helping with activities of daily living or just sharing a laugh, they go above and beyond every single day. The facility is clean, bright, and well maintained. There are engaging activities, beautiful outdoor areas, and a real sense of community. Most importantly, our family members are happy, well cared for, and thriving. We’re incredibly grateful to have found Cascades of Bend.

My Dad lived in memory care for 5 months. His mobility and chronic pain made him a candidate for this type of care. The staff was wonderful to him and immediately followed the wishes of Hospice and myself when it came to his needs. He was well taken care of and he was happy there. I was there almost every day and I only witnessed professionalism and true compassion for all the residents and family members as well. I toured every memory care facility in Bend and I'm very happy with my decision.

This small little community is such a gift. So many smiles and joy on the residents’ faces. They have a lovely courtyard with a view of Pilot Butte, which also has some nice hiking trails and benches for picnics with family. They also have a wonderful security system for the safety of your loved one. These people truly care about the well being of their residents.

The staff at Cascades of Bend went above and beyond to ensure that my mother-in-law received the care she needed. They did their best while patiently managing unwarranted and disrespectful behavior towards themselves and their residents. Watching a loved one battle memory loss is extremely difficult experience for a family to go through, but the staff followed the care plan they were given to make sure that the most important person in this situation was as comfortable as possible. Thank you, staff!

This place is incredible. It’s unfortunate that my deranged, greedy, and mentally ill sister is able to post a one star review. She also has her friends (who know nothing of the situation) post one star reviews as well. Our mom was admitted with late stage Alzheimer’s several months ago on doctors’ orders and then passed away, because that is what happens at the end of the disease. She refused food and stipulated in her advanced directive that she didn’t want to be force fed when the time came. My sister was banned from the facility, because she verbally attacked the poor residents and the staff and she abused my poor mom by telling her she was in prison and withholding her medication. Everyone was able to visit my mom except for her, because of her violent behavior. She didn’t want any of her inheritance to go to a memory care facility, and so she has harassed them non stop. Cascades protected my mom from her to the very end and went above and beyond in every way. I’ve volunteered at multiple memory care facilities, and this one is by far the best I’ve ever visited. The residents are clearly happy and the place even smells good, because they keep it so clean. There are videos on Cascade's Facebook page showing my mom laughing and playing instruments and singing happy birthday up until only a couple weeks before she passed. That is miraculous to me that they were able to bring joy to someone with such advanced dementia. I owe them so much.

I transferred my sweet hubby after 3 months at another facility to a memory care apartment here when a renovated wing at Cascades of Bend opened in March 2023. Despite multiple forms of dementia he is content & thriving thanks to the devoted, professional staff. I usually visit twice daily and feel like the caregivers are my second family, surrounding him with love. Reports & pics shared by the wonderful activities coordinator during my recent hospital stay touched my heart. Blessed!

Not a place that I would recommend for complete care. Was told that would be so and it was not. Myself and my mother had to be there everyday. Usually twice a day. The food was awful! Just awful. Shame on them for allowing this. Kettle chips with multiple meals a week. 90% of elderly have dentures. Fact. 60+ in the facility have some sort of dementia. So when your loved one doesn’t understand the menu and won’t eat fish ( let’s say that) they don’t care. Family must be there to check on diet everyday. Yes everyday. Can’t have coconut? Oh well. Don’t ask for help. They won’t. The answer is call the paramedics. Let’s waist there time to literally reach out a hand. It was a bad experience. The person in charge seems to be on vacation more then she works. Was told it would all be ’ assisted years ago. Let me tell you it is not. So if you love the person who needs extra help this is not the place. I can say this the front desk has been a delight. They understand . They can only pass on information but it will not change. Shame on Jamie. Shame on her! You will get the delight in meeting her if you will choose to to leave you love one there. Talk is cheap. This place is not. Or her salary.

We helped a friend move here, very nice senior living place, and found the staff to be unfailingly helpful and cheerful. They've done an excellent job of seeing that the residents stay healthy during the Covid times. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful facility! The residents are amazing and the care that is provided is done at the highest level of experience with compassion & understanding. The chef's prepare mouth watering dishes and there are fun activities for the residents to participate in! Cascades Of Bend deserves FIVE BIG STARS & I'd refer this place to anyone!
