My Father needed to be transferred from his residence to a new memory care facility. We were referred to Desert Sage Memory Care, where Stephanie Crespo, Director of Community Outreach helped with the entire transition and move. I had to do everything long distance as I am located in Southern CA. My Father is exceedingly happy in his new home. He loves the food and the menu choices too. I cannot thank Stephanie enough for everything she has done and is still doing to help with the necessary paperwork, etc. I look forward to working with the other staff at Desert Sage too. Thank you for taking such good care of my father.

I’m a movement/exercise educator who has taught at many memory care facilities. The level of care and attention the staff of Desert Sage shows to the community who live there is extraordinary. The caregivers escort the residents into the room and then participate in the class creating an atmosphere where learning and moving together makes exercise fun. The staff seem genuinely committed to providing a warm, connected, and engaged community. I highly recommend it.

My 87 year old Mother has been at Aspen Ridge for almost 2 years. I am very lucky that I live close enough to visit often and get to know the staff. While there had been many changes and some challenges over the last 2 years, I have always felt comfortable with her care. The current staff (at all levels) care about their residents and work hard to ensure their comfort, with a high level of respect. With the new management, I feel even more confident that my Mother is in a good place, is well cared for, feels safe, and is as happy as she can be (dementia).

My 93-year-old grandmother lived at Aspen Ridge for just over a year. During that time I NEVER had any reason to worry about her. Except, of course, for the normal things of dementia patients. My mom had pretty "normal" visit days and times, but not me. I would just show up whenever, without advance notice to the facility. Every single time there was always staff on the floor checking on residents, interacting with them with activities, walking with them around the building, sitting in their room with them, being present. On several occasions I witnessed staff encouraging residents with different things....and seeing the smile that would result as a resident did something that they couldn't remember doing (dementia SUCKS).... fantastic. Seeing residents gently reach out for comfort from touch and watching the staff willingly interact. Watching staff gently, slowly and encouraging help feed residents who've forgotten how to do it themselves. Hearing staff sing and/or talk to residents who are suddenly sad or anxious. That is what we witnessed. As my granny started her transition heavenly life.....the staff would sit with her when we weren't and sometimes when we were there. They would gently make sure she was moved and changed often. Always telling her that they were doing, stroking her hands/arms, her head. Some walking out with tears from the impending end of her life. Always checking on US making sure we had anything we needed. Making sure our mental health was being considered. Granny didn't pass while we were there ... But she didn't die alone. Staff saw the shift, and took extra time with the multiple checks per hour. When her breathing was noticeably slower....they sat with her, talking to her and she passed peacefully without any distress or typical death rattles. I attribute that to her level of comfort and peace in her home (even as a facility, it was her home). I am very thankful and have been blessed by the staff of Aspen Ridge Memory Care. And would not hesitate to use their facility for any one of my family members if that need arose. Gladly leaving a very satisfied review, from very personal experience....as a family member of someone who had great care.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! Both my grandpa and great aunt have been here and since the recent management change the care has been highly neglectful. I work in healthcare and with the elderly and this is the worst care I have ever seen. There is no communication between staff and family members, my aunt’s condition has drastically worsened due to neglect (I will spare the details because it is kind of gross, but it involves active infection and bandages being changed monthly instead of daily), and the management is incredibly rude, unprofessional, and actually ran away from us when we came to check on our family members. We were also notified of a 10% price rate increase with a stamped date of December 30th that would go into effect as of January 1st. Hundreds of dollars in increase with 2 days notice. I would not send your loved ones here if you want them to have good care, we are currently seeking other options.

My father lived at Aspen Ridge Memory Care in Bend, OR for 6 years. In his time with this organization, I always felt content that he was part of their family. Memory care is a difficult business, but under the current management team, I have witnessed an esprit de corps within the ranks that allowed a coordinated effort to provide quality care for its residents. The Activities Director strives to provide program enrichment and excursions to those residents able to participate. When he passed in October 2018, the compassion and care to our family was exemplary.

Outstanding staff and facility! The staff at Aspen Ridge Memory Care truly go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to taking care of the residents. Having a loved one with dementia can be a difficult and sensitive dynamic to handle. I encourage anyone looking for a place to care for there loved ones to consider Aspen Ridge. Simeon Purkey who is the Assistant Executive Director was amazing!. His compassionate demeanour and knowledge mixed with being a truly genuine individual was what we were looking for in considering a place for our loved one.
