As my mother likes to tell people she meets in her day to day life at Brookdale, "I feel like a rich Biddy living in a fancy hotel." We are there often throughout the week and she consistently says how much she likes where she is living and thanks us for moving her there. I know that may not be the case for everyone's loved one, depending on the stage of dementia. After living with us for two and a half years, mom needed more care than we could provide. We toured and looked at memory care and senior foster care homes in Bend and chose Brookdale because of the small town, homelike atmosphere. All the staff and caregiver members contribute to a safe, caring, and engaging home for my mother as well as all of the Brookdale residents. Amei, David and Tammy have responded very quickly to questions or concerns I might have. Kaitlyn, Becca, Stewart, and all of the rest of the med tech's and caregivers are incredible. They have a hard job, yet they do it thoughtfully and joyfully. They are also very good at meeting moms needs and letting us know if there is something else she needs or if she has had a hard night, morning, or difficulties throughout the day. Something Brookdale has that stands out is their activities and engagement program, directed by Abbie. Abbie provides activities such as bingo, morning chair exercise class, along with many field trips and art activities, all geared for the residents who have different abilities and tastes. Lastly, and most importantly, Amei and her staff have created and maintain a community where the residents can still experience a familiar quality of life that includes caring for each other and feeling cared for!

Brookdale of Bend is AMAZING! As a caregiver with an in-home agency, I had the privilege of caring for a resident there. The very first time I walked through the doors, I fell in love with the beautiful village-style design at the entrance. It immediately sets the tone for the warmth and welcoming atmosphere throughout the entire community. I would sit with my client during meals, and I have to say, the food was consistently delicious and beautifully presented. You can tell the chef truly puts heart and care into every meal. Speaking of heart, the staff”especially on the Clare Bridge side, where my client lived”put their hearts into their work every single day. Even as an outsider, I could see and feel the joy, compassion, and genuine dedication they bring to the residents. The residents are happy, engaged, and offered some truly wonderful activities. One of my favorite things was how each day began with a morning gathering that included the Pledge of Allegiance, the Lord's Prayer, daily news, and fun conversations to start the day on a positive note. They even have ducks and chickens! Be sure to check out their Facebook page to see all the creative and meaningful activities Abbie organizes with the residents. Honestly, this is one of the best care communities I have ever visited. In fact, I miss being there since my client moved away, and I've even considered applying to work there myself. A huge shout-out to the entire Brookdale team. The difference you make in the lives of your residents is evident in everything you do. Thank you for your compassion, dedication, and love. I miss you all”and the residents”very much.

My wife, Mary has been at Brookdale Bend for 6 months now. All the people I've met there, from the Executive Director and the Health and Wellness Director to the person who cleans her room, are very sincere, caring individuals. I have witnessed many incidences of care givers giving special attention to individual residents who needed it for some reason. The whole atmosphere in the facility is light hearted and sincere. If anyone needs this type of care, I can highly recommend Brookdale Bend. Dale

I am very happy that I chose Brookdale of Bend for my mother. I have been very impressed by the level of personal attention that she receives. The executive director, Amei, is just wonderful. She hires excellent, caring staff who clearly take pride in their work and really care for the residents-and the families. Amei is extremely friendly and approachable. Brookdale has weekly outings for the residents who are able to participate, including horse therapy, trips to a preschool, swimming, and more, and Amei sends me pictures of my mother after every activity. Brookdale also has daily activities, 7 days a week, including physical activity as the residents are capable, lots of crafts, and group mental games to keep the residents stimulated. I have seen the staff pay individual attention to my mother, including working with her on puzzles, playing cribbage with her, in ways that just never happened in her former assisted living. The food is plentiful and she has actually gained much needed weight. The dining area and activity area are always decorated beautifully. I really recommend Brookdale.

Amei and her team at Brookdale went out of their way to assist with my brother Bill who was a unique case as he was only 58 when he went to Brookdale. Not only was he the youngest person there, he needed a lot of care after suffering 2 sets of strokes. They made him feel very welcome and were super attentive to his constantly, changing needs. The staff was kind, cheerful and attentive. Thank you Brookdale.

Brookdale Memory Care has been a true gift to our family and mom in an excruciatingly difficult time. Mom's dementia had been well managed at home and she was very happy until that first, major stroke, then everything changed. We quickly researched and visited every memory care in the Bend area and after meeting Tina at intake, BD stood out as the top choice by far, at any price; it had the right vibe for us. Amei, the Executive Director, is high energy and deeply committed to both her team and the residents. I won't be able to name them all, but mom went from "why am I here?" and "I want to go home!" to making friends and later calling BD her home after just a month or two with the help of her caregivers -- to name just a few: Ryan, Autumn, Bekkah, Lori, Amanda, Stuart, Abbey and Tammy, the head nurse, were all game changers through their compassionate care. The entire staff works very hard; this is a tough job and best of all, they truly strive to connect with the residents on their respective levels in a caring, personal way and often with humor. The human connection and care are the number one priority for all and it shows. Activities were very good -- there could always be more, but each were well matched to her interests, even if she initially had to be coaxed into participating. Mom found her "new rhythm" and was happy again! Unfortunately, the strokes continued, so after 8 months she has moved on to her "Forever Home" and will be deeply missed by her family--and her family will miss the lovely, caring people of Brookdale Bend. We thank each and every one of you for helping mom and her family through this challenging time---we would have been lost without you!

Brookdale has been a huge blessing for our family. Our mom, Susan, has been a resident at Brookdale since August 2025. This is after living both at Touchmark and Mt. Bachelor Memory Care. We finally feel like mom is at home! And we think she feels the same way too! When I come to Bend to visit her I always see her engaged with other residents and the staff at Brookdale! There is always something to do whether it be bingo, Jeopardy, cooking, a fabulous theme party or an adventure out to Healing Reins! Before Brookdale, mom knew there was life beyond the locked door. Unfortunately, she was able to get out of her old memory care unit a few times..thankfully she was always found safe. Since she has been at Brookdale that has never happened! When it comes time to say, goodbye there is always someone or something there to engage her. Amei and the entire staff are truly angels on earth. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right! There is something extra special at Brookdale..and it shows! This time in life can be difficult for families..we want our loved ones to be happy and safe. Sometimes that not easy to know if they lack the skills to communicate their feelings. But I KNOW mom is where she needs to be..as well as the other residents who are fortunate to call Brookdale home.

Brookdale was our mom’s third memory care and the best and most caring team we’ve encountered. It felt like we were on a team together. They were communicative, compassionate, and a joy to work with. If you’re new to this journey, follow Amei Pratt (current ED of Brookdale) to wherever she goes. While turnover is high in this field, Amei is skilled at hiring quality people. Thank you Amei, Nurse Tammy, David, Erin, Tina, Autumn, Spencer, Hairdresser Tammy, Doctor Adams (who doesn’t work there but comes there to support the residents) and every single member of the team that helps with care, laundry, cleaning, cooking, and community events (sorry if I missed names). You’ve really stood out as an exceptionally kind and caring group and it meant the world to me.

After looking at several homes for my Father, Brookdale , Bend, was by far the most warm, inviting, and full of activities place by far! Exercise class every day, great food, fun creative activities, trips out, and so much visiting entertainment. Also kind and patient caregivers and Directors. They call me when there is a problem, No matter how small, so that I am aware. I feel so lucky we found them! Price comparable with other facilities we viewed, but offered much more. Highly Recommend.

Hi everyone. I recently attended a Christmas dinner at brookdale. The staff and food was outstanding. I’ve been to a few of these facilities in bend. As my wife works in them. And brookdale is far the best. All the facilities in bend need to run like this place. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in . Just like your part of the family. After much debate within the family we decided it was time to place my wife Alice in a Memory Care facility. I reviewed 8 facilities in Bend, OR and personally visited 5 of them. Brookdale stood out as reasonably priced, properly staffed with attentive individuals, warm private rooms, nutritious food, a full schedule of resident activities with numerous field trips and a caring place for Alice. After her placement my great impression remained and increased as I worked more closely with facility's management and staff. I'd highly recommend Brookdale to those with a family member needing help in life's later year's challenges.

My mom was at another facility in Bend and she just sat in her room. We moved her to Brookdale and it has been a completely different experience. She is always out in the kitchen/TV area. It is set up like a home so it is very cozy and there are always people for my mom to socialize with. Amei is wonderful! She is always so full of energy and is hanging out with the residents and staff a lot of the time. The other place she stayed I never saw the executive director. I thought that was normal but now that I see Amei interacting with everyone it definitely helps me feel better about the atmosphere my mom is living in. I get photos and stories about my mom that make my heart happy. I can’t say enough good things about Brookdale. It’s a home away from home ™

Brookdale has been such a good place for my mother. She has been a resident there since September 2022. In the beginning under the old director we had some concerns. The current director Amei has been there for a while now and has totally turned the place around to a top notch facility. The staff there is so caring and do a great job. The activities director keeps the residents busy and their minds challenged. The Nurse Tammy does an excellent job also. It puts my family at ease to know mom is being well taken care of.

Our family is very grateful for the kind and loving care my Mom gets at Brookdale Bend. The Caregivers, Nurse, and Staff take good care of her needs. We visit frequently and you can see the smiles on the Residents' faces and most participating in happy activities every day. My mom also likes the chickens that she can see outside their dining room window! We are also very thankful for their Director, Amei, who warmly greets and spends time with each resident and plans very creative events! Amei feels like family to us. Brookdale Bend is a very positive, safe environment, and caring place for our Mom.

Moving my Mom from Assisted Living to memory care was a difficult decision. After meeting with Tina, Amei, and Tammy, moving her to Brookdale Bend was an easy decision; one that has brought me comfort knowing she is in a safe place. Amei, Tammy, med techs, and the other staff interacting with Mom are caring and kind individuals in what can be a stressful environment. I’ve observed them with Mom and other residents; they treat them with respect and an understanding of their personalities. I give the staff credit for Mom becoming more interactive and interested in activities than she was in AL. I know of no place that is perfect in every way all the time, but having a team that takes time to listen and positively react to any question or concern is a great start.

From the first meeting with Tina to consider placing my brother at Brookdale Bend,I felt warmth, enthusiasm and friendliness. Those feelings have continued as I visit with staff and my brother at the facility. I experience much love given to him. Frequently, I receive pictures of my brother enjoying the activities and trips. Before making the difficult decision to place my brother in Memory Care, I visited many facilities in Bend. I feel that my decision to place him at Brookdale Bend was, thankfully, the right decision.

My mother is my bestest friend and there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her. She always wanted the best for me growing up and did whatever it took to ensure that. Now, at her age of 99, that’s all I would want her to have in return. Brookdale is helping provide my mother with some of the best, interpersonal care and safety which is exactly what I would give to her myself. This facility has my trust within their compassionate care-giving abilities. The staff is wonderful, my mother raves about these people and I do too. I’ve seen nothing but smiles and efficiency at this facility. They genuinely care about the individual needs of their residents and keep up on these priorities well. Brookdale always does their best to keep the residents occupied with healthy indoor and outdoor activities, they serve good food which my mom was a cook her whole life so she would be the best critic and she’s very satisfied, and they give care that is well beyond the base line expectation of most assisted living facilities. If your loved ones need to be in an assisted living facility, Brookdale in bend is THE facility where you can rest assured that your loved ones are given exquisite care, day in and out. Thank you brookdale for helping take care of my precious mother. You guys are all nothing short of amazing.

My husband, Randal, and I have nothing but good things to say about the management team and staff at Brookdale, Bend. My mother was residing there and we saw nothing but caring, love, and compassion from Amei Pratt and her team and staff members. Even in her demented state, my mother knew she was loved and cared for. She was always hugging the staff and telling them how much she loved and appreciated them even if she couldn't remember their names. And they would do the same to her. We are, and will always be grateful to them that in the last few years of her life she was surrounded by people who cared for and loved her. To us, they have a hard job that they work very hard at. My mother lived with us for awhile and then with her sister for awhile and she was actually happier at Brookdale because it was very difficult for her to accept help from us. Also, the set up with the "town square" is amazing and they do the best job ever in providing activities and outings to keep the residents occupied!! My mother was even able to go bowling in her wheelchair. I would highly recommend Brookdale, Bend for your loved one. You will not find a more devoted, hardworking, and caring staff.

My father-in-law was in Memory care in the Bend facility. Initially his care was fine but it then deteriorated. I would not recommend this facility. High turn over of staff. Long delays in getting orders for care and meds were impacting his care. Clothing and linens were repeatedly lost or took a long time to get back in his room. The washer and dryers needed to be replaced and there was a long delay for this. They could have had the laundry done by a commercial company but chose not to do this. At the very end of life he went 3 days before his shirt was changed and I had to request it. He passed away with someone else’s blankets on his bed. I reported the facility and inconsistent care to the state Ombudsmen, who is an advocate for patients and family. Even with several meetings and promise to improve care there was little change. They increased his room rate if/when he refused meds. This is incredible and only after requesting the corporate manager to get involved that charges were changed. We received another increase in rate after he passed, showing lack of coordination with facility and corporate office. Once he passed away there was no acknowledgement from management to give condolences. When my mothers passed away in a different facility, the staff sent a gift and cards. Even when I sent a text for follow up issues and mentioned how sad it was that they did not offer condolences, there was no response. Big bucks for poor care. So sad for us to see him go through this.

Our daughter was diagnosed with bvFTD. In doing our due diligence to find the right placement for her, we made an appointment to meet with the management of Brookdale-Bend and her staff in our home. We visited a couple of facilities prior to our scheduled appointment with them, and luckily found, before that appointment, what we believed to be a perfect fit for our daughter at a small memory care facility, with a limited number of beds, clean, well run, with a caring staff and excellent recommendations. Yet, I neglected to cancel our appointment with Brookdale staff, and they arrived at the agreed upon time. We had a most pleasant conversation with the Brookdale staff and was grateful to find that the quality and friendliness they displayed was both refreshing and heartening, demonstrating that their larger facility would also have also been an option. The facility was represented with professionalism and class, and if our daughter had not already made her decision the day before, we would have followed through and seriously considered Brookdale-Bend to care for our loved one. I wish to state again that the deportment, grace, and compassion the staff displayed for our situation, and their forgiveness of my breach of business courtesy was very much appreciated.

I had to move my wife because the service was pitiful. She was not kept clean the room was a mess most of the time (just filthy) and she was not dress properly and rarely had and clean close in the closet.
