I have been working in memory care in various facilities and positions for over 10yrs. I'm now honored to be the Health and Wellness Director here at Brookdale in Bend for the past year. We have a new administrative team and am I'm ecstatic to be a part of the amazing growth happening here. We have such a dynamic crew who all work so well together to provide the best care for our beloved residents. We have a culture of teamwork and support now and I'm so proud!

I create our monthly activities schedule, implement our person-centered activity plans for each individual resident, as well as provide resident family support. I currently work at Brookdale - Bend as the Resident Care Coordinator. I can personally attest to the sweat and tears caregivers put in day in and day out. Like most places, we have been hit with the staffing tribulations of the current era. The staff here has consistently worked 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week on numerous occasions in positions outside their own to ensure the health and safety of our residents. You would be hard pressed to find a group of people that cares more. We love our residents like family, feeling every high and low on a daily basis.

I had to move my wife because the service was pitiful. She was not kept clean the room was a mess most of the time (just filthy) and she was not dress properly and rarely had and clean close in the closet. Her bed was often a mess with several dishes and sometimes no sheets. Since moving her all has been really good. So, there are good places out there.

This is an extremely caring place! I had tears of joy and thankfulness the way the staff treated our loved one. They make you feel warm and welcome, like family. Invited us to stay and eat and had ice cream treats for us when we moved in. The staff is friendly with all who walk in. I see them saying hi and smiling all the time! What a happy place. A memory care does not have to be depressing. I like visiting because I am in a better mood when I leave.
