Morning Star has been am excellent choice for my Mom. The memory care unit is clean, safe, decorated very nice and smells good!!! The staff is amazing and the food is good too!! There is an art room, work out room, activity room with kitchen and a lot of games. There is also a theater, art room, beauty shop and a large dining room. They have a grand piano, library and a bistro. The staff is very good and attentive. And they are all very nice and experienced.

I was honored to go to a open house at Morning Star Assisted Living. I absolutely love all the detail they have to include luxuries galore, fireplace library, Bistro, large dining room, grand piano, nice gathering areas on each floor and all the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The ED and people who work there are professional, polite and have a genuine interest in the residents. I would highly recommend you go on a tour and see for yourself.

Morningstar senior living has great intentions despite the reputation that the negative reviewers here are sharing. A response to the covid reviewer here: no one intentionally gives anyone covid. Hence the entire last year of a worldwide pandemic. By all means-if you were so upset about the care that was given-no one made you stay with Morningstar. There are other places. Other news: They had a bad start. They didnt have the management team they needed to support the front line staff. After 2 Executive directors, one of which really didnt know what was happening in the entire community-they got a new executive director. She is merely amazing. Ive never seen someone give their all In trying to make a better living and work environment. Never have I seen a director hand out their personal cell phone number to family to ensure proper care. Shannon goes above and beyond the call of duty. Shes readily available for all staff and family to educate and re assure. She is doing the job of ten people and never complains about it for one second. I believe that a job well done should be noticed here despite the past. They have come a long way, and if you ask any one of the assisted living residents or family members-they will tel you that hands down-the staff are like family. The care and medication managers, go above and BEYOND to ensure every one of the residents are loved and cared for. I would definitely have my loved one stay with MorningStar just for the fact of the front line staff always on duty.

My daughter convinced me to tour Morning Star Senior Living because I continued to lose weight at the community where I lived for 5 years. The food was not good, bland, and boring there so I refused to eat. The first visit to Morning Star I was introduced to Tom the Executive Chef. They had just finished lunch but he had an extra piece of Salmon so he let me try it. Oh my goodness it was so good I ate every bit. Then we went back for a tour of the apartment on July 4, 2019, however, I was invited to also join in the celebration lunch, expecting hot dogs and hamburgers. Again to my surprise, we were served sirloin steak, riblets, corn on the cob, baked beans, and strawberry short cake. It was delicious!!! I couldnt stop eating. Next we toured to apartment and I fell in love with the size of the bathroom and dressing area. The apartment was so bright, warm and inviting. You guest it, I signed on the dotted line and move-in the next week. Senior living dining at Morning Star is fabulous, like family! Great menu options are available every day with snacks, fresh fruit, and cookies for later, if you get hungry. I have been here about 6 months now. I look forward to the great food Tom and his team prepare for us that is shared over good conversation with everyone. Tom comes out and gives everyone a big hello and hug making them feel welcome and put a smile on their face. Even the silverware is wrapped in a linen napkin just like at a restaurant for fine dining. Holidays are special as well. For Christmas we had a choice of prime rib or salmon. WOW!!! Sharing delicious meals at Morning Star prepared by Chef Tom, that taste really really good, gives this 96 year old lady something to look forward. What else do seniors have to look forward to at this stage of their life......but an excellent meal, excellent company (residents and staff) and some good old fun and laughter. We experience all of this at Morning Star of Beaverton, come join us! Fran Stuart

Wow! Impressed! My husband and I visited my parents today for the first time in 6 months on the outside beautiful deck of the facility. While sitting there talking to my mom and dad, I noticed the staff inside vacuuming, cleaning in a most impeccable manner! I observed at least 4 employees working at cleaning the dining room area and the floors of the location with impeccable concentration. It wasnt something that we were looking for but could not help but notice as we visited with my parents how hard the staff was cleaning the interior of Morning Star. It made me pause and take a look at the beautiful deck and once again I noticed how clean and beautiful everything looked. At the end of our visit my father paged for help and immediately a CNA responded to him. This left my husband and I with a positive feeling that my mom and dad are safe here and looked after.

This is more of a letter to everyone at Morningstar beaverton who cares for my mother. It is difficult to properly thank and acknowledge you all. Some of you we know well, some of you we have never even met. It is our greatest wish you ALL know how much we appreciate every single kindness and extra bit of effort and attention to mom. It takes a special person to do the work you do.Please know that there are a least 3 people on this earth who thank you and appreciate you (even if you dont hear it from us personally). If ever we seemed curt or impatient, please know its directed at the circumstance and not you personally. We are grateful to you all for guiding us during this very difficult time. As an employee of an In-Home Companion Care Provider, I recently went to work with a client who lives at the Beaverton Morningstar. I was really impressed with not only the building, which is beautiful and well kept up, but with the staff as well. They have so many individuals who truly care about the residents and their mental and physical well being. When I came in there were residents playing games with staff and socializing in what they call their bistro area and was met with a smile from the front desk gal. I was working with a resident in the Memory Care and found the staff there to be helpful and attentive with the residents. I also noticed the cleanliness and that there was a freshness to the air rather then odors often associated with MC facilities. I observed the resident I was with and the others during a meal and saw how nicely it was presented and noticed they really enjoyed it so I asked If I could purchase a meal as well. It was great and they even tried to comp me the meal. The menu had several options and I saw that guests and staff also ate the meals, which I have found to be a the best indicator of how well a kitchen is doing in a building. Morningstar is a great addition to the Portland area.

My experience is from a different perspective. I have a Sister who works for this location and I think we can all relate, but would love to come home at end of day and truly say they love their job! Well, she loves her job! Dont get me wrong there are challenges with every job, occupation, but her stories are amazing and filled with love and admiration. Lifestyle changes are hard for all of us in life and Morning Star truly cares for their residents. They care for all like family. Considering this industry has a challenge from the get go in making a home for your loved ones, which will never ever be the same, they work hard to find the right folks to fulfill these needs. My sister has made so many new friends.....Employees and most of all Residents!

I love living here. My husband and I moved in and everyone was so warm and welcoming. Being an active person, I enjoy the programs and activities the Life Enrichment Coordinator puts together for us. I even volunteer with some of the daily duties to keep our home thriving. The care staff and their Director are so wonderful and accommodating to our needs. The meals are cooked fresh and are fantastic with a variety of dishes and choices. Not to mention I do not have to worry about cooking them myself anymore. My husband recently passed and the extra love and care the entire staff showed me, and my family, was genuine and heartfelt. My neighbors, and all the staff, are part of my extended family now and it is good to have that kind of support group so close at hand. I recommend anyone looking to simplify their life and get pampered doing it, to come visit here. It is beautiful.

Looking for a community to move in to is a very stressful and scary thing. I was leaving what has been your comfort zone for 40 years and now moving towards the unknown. As my care needs increased beyond the point of living at home, my husband Kevin, and I began looking for someplace I could feel safe and secure in, but also someplace that gave me that This is the one feeling. After looking at other places, we found Morningstar and I found my This is the one. It is not only beautiful here but the care staff is beyond fantastic. I truly love all of the staff here and I feel like I am being looked after by my extended family. The other residents actually care about one another and we have fun together whether during an activity or just sitting with one another visiting. With having a gym on the premises, I am able to do my PT without worrying about how to get out somewhere to do it. Getting out and about is difficult, but here I have almost anything I need; the gym, a salon, a theater, games and social activities, a private spa tub and if I really want to be pampered I can schedule a massage. The management team is so wonderful and responsive to our comments and needs. The great staff starts with the Executive Director, Teresa Smith, to her Department Managers and up to the ones who are in contact with us most, the frontline staff. The dining is fantastic. The wait staff even know what I like to drink, and serve it before I even ask, Hot Chocolate and Grape Juice. I am so thankful my husband and I found Morningstar. With that first visit, I was in my home away from home. I Love it!!!

My mother is in the memory care area at Morning Star and I couldnt have picked a better place for her. The staff are incredible people, the entire facility is clean and bright, no bad smells and the food is great. If youre looking for a care facility for a loved one, I would highly recommend checking out Morning Star. You wont be disappointed.

I toured Morning Star a few weeks ago and I can not begin to tell you how impressed I was! As I entered, the residents were being entertained by a singer and his accompanist. He was singing classic songs from the 30s 40s and 50s. To watch the residents sing along or tap their foot with a smile on their face was heartwarming! I was welcomed by a staff member that toured me around what I can only describe as a beautiful home in a caring neighborhood. There was so much positive interaction between and amounst residents and staff. I was introduced to many residents and felt welcomed in this friendly neighborhood. The living environment is just amazing! Upscale living quarters with modern amenities, decorations, and appliances. The dining room is inviting and social. It was nice to see residents in the movie, gym, and library rooms which provided social interaction opportunities. I cant say enough about this place, it is a must see! I want to live here!

I have lived in 3 senior communities so when selecting Morningstar I was very particular. I am very impressed with the location, design and layout of the building. While having excellent community spaces for us to enjoy the fun activities and social times, it also has those beautiful areas where one can sneak off by themselves and relax in peace and serenity. We have 2 beautiful outdoor patios with fireplaces that overlook a greenbelt with a pond. The activities are geared to our likes and we are able to pick and choose the ones we wish to attend or suggest others to have in the future. The leadership in place now is fantastic and they are lead by an excellent Executive Director, Teresa. She works with her management team to insure we get the best care. And it really shows in the discerning way they select new line staff. All the staff, whether in care, dining, housekeeping or medications, really do their best to insure our well-being and safety. To them, we are more than just a resident, we all are family. This place is the best place out there.

My mom moved into MorningStar in August of this year. She had been through quite a transition after a hip surgery and was now ready for assisted living. I looked at many before choosing MorningStar taking into account all reviews and what environment would be the best fit for her. What I found is this facility is evolving into a stellar, well managed location offering not only amazing, caring services to keep my mom safe, but also a rock star chef whos food my mom raves about all the time. No place is perfect - but this place comes pretty darn close. MorningStar staff work SO hard to meet moms needs, as well as the familys, when any questions or situations may arise. We actually have a dream team who we love - and they do moms hair perfectly. They know mom loves music - so they make sure she gets to every performance that comes. Its the little things that count sometimes to make someone feel cared for - and put the family at ease - and theyve nailed it. I would encourage anyone to check out this MorningStar location in Beaverton and see if it would be a good fit for your loved one. Its a warm atmosphere, slower pace, lots of natural light and everyone is extremely helpful, genuine and friendly.
