From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warmth and kindness. The residents appeared very happy and well cared for, and the home itself was neat, clean, and inviting. Executive Director Michael was especially kind and gracious, which truly reflected the compassionate and positive environment of the home. My mother recently stayed at Sunrise Richmond Hill for a period of respite after a hospitalization. We can’t thank the amazing staff enough for their friendly and compassionate care. When our loved one was released from hospital, but was not yet ready to move back to her home, Sunrise Richmond Hill provided a wonderful respite room for her to heal and regain her strength. Michelle and the other helpful staff at Sunrise made our loved one's stay peaceful, cozy and relaxing. She felt incredibly well cared for and when her birthday happened to fall during her stay, the staff went above and beyond any of our expectations to make her feel special. She will be moving home today, but will always remember the welcoming, caring staff at Sunrise Richmond Hill.

My father was just discharged after staying at the Bayshore TCU at Sunrise of Richmond Hill for 8 weeks. The managers, Alon and Finda, nurses and PSWs were outstanding with the compassion and clinical care they provided my father. Their professionalism and commitment to looking after my father provided me the priceless peace of mind I needed as we navigated this stressful time. I had an excellent experience dealing with Renee and Lalita when I was looking for a retirement home for my mother. During the tour Renee was very helpful in providing us with all the information about their facilities. From the tour, I can tell the residents were happy and well taken care of. From dealing with both Renee and Lalita, it is obvious they both are passionate about what they do and they really care about the well being of the residents.

Putting a love one in a senior living is always a stressful decision but Sunrise at Richmond Hill makes it so seamless and stress free. I can't thank enough the whole amazing team: Salome, Jacqueline, Michael in management. Farhang and Irum and Simmi were absolutely fantastic individuals. They have saved my Dad's life once and extending his longevity to the impossible. The room is always clean and each support worker is always kind and lovely. Sunrise at this location is so amazing. I did my college student placement for social work here. The residents are so sweet; I learned so much during my time. The staff does such a fantastic job with the residents; they do such great work to keep things running smoothly and making the residents happy. I loved that they had activities and entertainment for the residents every day; I think it really helps for the mind, body, and soul and the residents do look forward to it. It really takes a team, and I saw nothing but teamwork here. It was so admirable. The residents I spoke with always had such nice things to say about how they're cared for. I honestly didn't hear one bad complaint from any of them. Sunrise is definitely a place I would feel comfortable having my family because I know they will always be in good hands. I hope they continue with the great work they have been doing.

Visited Sunrise Richmond Hill and had a friendly and informative session and tour of the facility. Our host was James Manning and he did a great of listening carefully to our needs and then he presented us with all the features that Sunrise Richmond Hill has to offer. James knows his stuff and answered all of our questions and concerns in a convincing manner. We had heard good things about Sunrise and our visit certainlty supported those claims. During our walkabout, it was a pleasure to see so many residents happy and engaged in meaningful activites throughout the site. If and when necessary, Sunrise will surely get our full consideration.

I'm writing this review on the 1 year anniversary of moving my mom to Sunrise Richmond Hill. I’m very pleased with all aspects of the community and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an excellent level of care in a supportive, family like environment. I had to move my mom from Ottawa to GTA based on declining health issues. I toured over a dozen retirement communities in Toronto, where I live, and had not found the right fit for mom so began looking outside the city. It was pretty stressful at the time to make such a big decision on someone else’s behalf. Right away when I walked into Sunrise Richmond Hill I could see my mom living there. It was smaller and homier feeling that other places I had toured. And the staff were friendly, smiling and happy which I also didn’t see in some of the other places I toured. One of my objectives was to find a home that could address mom’s current care needs and accommodate future changes through to palliative care, should that be needed. Within the last year, moms mobility has declined and the Sunrise team has been very helpful and proactive in coming up with solutions. My mom loves living at Sunrise Richmond Hill where she feels safe and well cared for. The care team & nursing team are amazing and have been very responsive and communicate well with me on all issues. I truly feel it’s a partnership with my mom’s best interest and wellness at the center of it. While the cost is on the higher end, the assessment was accurate for the care level needed and there have been no attempts to up-sell to increase costs. I appreciate the fixed cost for care. One of the places I was looking at in Toronto provided a set number of care minutes per day and charged extra per minute if more time was needed. Sunrise has a full roster of activities that my mom enjoys. They have live music / entertainment in on a weekly basis. Mom also quite likes the food. The soup, in particular, is often mentioned by her and other residents ... seniors do like their soup! The Sunrise kitchen team also makes texture accommodations for mom’s swallowing limitations. The maintenance and cleaning teams have been great too. My mom’s room and the common areas are always neat and tidy. Any time I mention anything that could be improved, it is. In summary, my mom is very happy at Sunrise Richmond Hill and that gives me the peace of mind that I made the best decision on her behalf that I could.

They are dedicated, kind, compassionate, loving, and do their best to help improve the quality of life for each resident. My mom lived very comfortably at Sunrise of Richmond Hill from fall 2021 to fall 2023. We found the facility clean, pleasant and well-organized, and the staff ” from the front desk right through to the back office ” cheerful and courteous. The nursing team and care coordinators were proactive in keeping us up to date on my mom’s wellness, and the care team on the memory care floor showed genuine kindness and fondness for her. Sunrise provided a range of activities for her to engage in according to her ability, which we always felt welcome to participate in during our visits. We were very happy with our decision to make Sunrise Mom’s home.

I would give Sunrise a 10 star of I could!! It's a beautiful place and the staff is amazing. My 95 yr old mom is well taken care. They go above and beyond to make sure her needs are met and they are in constant contact with me. My mom is in the memory care program where she interacts with others and her day is filled with activities. I feel safe knowing that she's in good hands. However I have to say that the wonderful team at Sunrise of Richmond Hill has always stood out to me. They are truly compassionate and take care of the residents with LOVE. What a great place to stay for respite care! I have had a hip replacement and came to Sunrise directly after. I am just completing a 4 week stay. The staff are very cheerful and helpful, Food is healthy, delicious and nicely served. Dining is open seating and you can go to the dining room anytime within dining hours and get great service. Medical services are readily available as well. The home is well kept and is in a lovely treed setting with a walkway available for getting out and walking. My room is well kept and laundry done weekly (or as needed). Health precautions are in place as needed, staff is masked and gloved. My stay has been a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Sunrise.

I have resided at Sunrise for two years and have found it to be " a home away from home". This is Assisted Living at its best. The ambience is that of old fashion comfort. The food is good and nutritious, served in our bright cheerful dining room. Snacks may be had in our bistro, a favorite place for socializing and playing Games. Special diets are welcome. You will enjoy a variety of activities. There is weekly entertainment, bus trips to local spots of interest and to ethnic restaurants. There is a small but comprehensive library and a garden patio. Coordinators and support staff are kind and helpful. They all Provide excellent and cheerful service.

I recently toured this residence and highly recommend it to anyone considering retirement options for themselves or their loved one. The minute you step in, it truly feels like home. The entire staff go above and beyond to keep residents engaged and safe at all times. Their reminisce coordinator Jerome and his memory care team are top notch!! Care is tailored to suit each residents individual needs and continually assessed as those needs evolve. The fact that most of their staff have been there for years (some since the building first opened), speaks for itself. It really is one big family.

It was a difficult decision to move Mom to a seniors home - and more so during a pandemic - but thanks to the kind and caring staff at Sunrise, the transition was surprisingly smooth. Sunrise of Richmond Hill is the home of my father of 101 years old. He has been living in Sunrise for 2 years and 9 months. The staffs at Sunrise of Richmond Hill are warm, friendly, professional and dedicated. Specially in times of the unprecedent pandemic lockdowns, the services provided by the staffs have exceeded our expectation. There are not enough words that could describe our gratefulness and gratitude to all staffs.

Two of my family members have been entrusted to Sunrise of Richmond Hill, sharing a suite. I feel confident that they are being treated with professionalism, but also the staff members seem to have some genuine affection for the residents. When the occasional concern crops up, the Director always listens to me and deals with the situation immediately. There are regular wellness checks and I am kept informed of the results. I am glad we chose this place when we did, in 2019, because I feel that my relatives have been in the safest possible place.

My mother just turned 100 and has been at Sunrise for just over one month. All the staff have been very caring and very attentive to my mother's every need. James Manning, their Sales Rep is very low key and doesn't exert any pressure. Salome is a wonderful nurse, Jacqueline and Janice, in the office have been great, as have the rest of Sunrise's staff.
