I am an independent senior and I have been living at Richmond Hill Retirement Residence. It offers everything that I need and want at this time in my life, and it is the best senior living environment that I could have hoped to find. I feel that the General Manager Wendy and the entire management team and staff are truly committed to the well-being of every resident, and the warm welcoming atmosphere makes it feel like everyone really cares about each one of us. For seniors at this stage of our lives, that sense of safety and security is so incredibly important. The dining room serves wonderful meals (all included in the price), there also are really nice snacks freely available 24/7, the accommodations are beautiful, there is a wide variety of many different activities throughout every day of the week which are very well organized and enjoyable, they show excellent movies every evening, and I have made new friends with many of the other residents. In addition, this lovely Richmond Hill neighbourhood is within an easy distance of shopping and banking, and there are van trips to take residents on many different excursions to interesting locations in the area. I can join activities, or I can spend quiet time by myself. It is the best of both worlds and I really love and appreciate living here!

When my husband had surgery and needed full time care at home the first week, The Community Relations Manager at RHRR arranged to provide us with dinner. The meals were delicious. She delivered them personally. It was such a relief for me and a blessing to my husband and me.

Truly first-class. My dad is incredibly stubborn, and changing residences has been very challenging for him. Anna went above and beyond to make it work.she even offered to bring dinner to our home just to have a conversation with him. Pam, Wendy, and the entire staff are absolutely phenomenal. After researching literally dozens of assisted care facilities in Richmond Hill and the surrounding cities, based on many factors (cost, good reviews, good location, amenities offered, etc.) we ended up choosing the Richmond Hill Retirement Residence for my sister. She has been extremely satisfied since she moved in a few weeks ago. The staff has been amazing, the food has been excellent, the level of care has been top-notch, the residents there are genuinely happy, and the activities offered have been great. I would strongly recommend Richmond Hill Retirement Residence to anyone considering moving into an assisted care facility.

I stayed in one of the respite rooms after my knee replacement surgery. Every staff member I encountered, PSW, Nurse, Office Staff and Receptionist were focused on offering you the best support they could. While physiotherapy was up to you the staff supported every other aspect of your recovery. The meals were very good and I chose to have the meals delivered to my room as I could not bend my knee. I brought a bed table with me so that I could sit up in bed to eat. The PSW also assisted with showering and getting dressed. The nurse checked in twice daily which was comforting to me. There was also a wound nurse provided by the hospital to change the bandages every other day. In addition, you are given an alert fob to wear, which you can press at anytime to receive help. so you are really never far from help. The respite room itself is very clean and comfortable however the bed is not a hospital bed so you may want to bring a wedge so you can sit up comfortably and stretch your leg out. The bed can also be used to perform the necessary exercises which is important. There is also a seating with a couch, a small kitchenette and a table so you are not confined to just the bed. There are nice long hallways and other areas which can be used for the walking exercise. I want to thank the staff for providing the care I needed during the first 2 weeks of my recovery.

Got in touch with Anna and Helen, they have been extremely helpful in answering all the questions we threw at them. The site visit was very friendly and informative, not to mention the accommodation they are willing to make to meet our needs! Easily the best retirement home in the area especially with the rate they are offering!

I was very satisfied with my first visit to this retirement home. My hostess, Anna Fang was very charming and informative. I was also very pleasantly surprised to hear that the cost was so affordable. The home is very clean and has many appealing facilities to foster a sense of community that seem to be quite generous and friendly. I will definitely make a follow up visit to sample the menu in the dining room and the ambience in the pub.

Ever since our uncle was admitted to the Richmond Hill Retirement Residence, each staff member who came in contact with him had a positive impact on his emotional, physical, and most importantly his mental health. It felt like he received a second lease on life! The care, attention, and compassion the entire staff demonstrated are absolutely a reflection of the outstanding people they are! He came with a loss of appetite that he not only regained, but he also continuously commented on how great the food was, especially the various soups he had the pleasure to try. It is with no reservations that we highly recommend the Richmond Hill Retirement Residence for living independent seniors, or for a short term living assisted facility.

My mother has been at this residence for over 5 years now and the last few years has not been easy for this industry or other service organizations, but during this time all the staff at RHRR have continued to provide the best service possible to all residents. The health and well being of all has been a top priority during periods of any "Outbreaks" and control measures implemented quickly to prevent the spread of infections. We can't overstate the contribution that many on staff have made to ensure residents are well looked after and they have activities that are meaningful and thought provoking Recognition goes to but not limited too the A/GM, A/Life Enrichment Manager, Food Services, Nursing Personnel and Facility Maintenance. This has been and continues to be very challenging times but the organization has been resilient to those challenges. Management and all staff have in my opinion worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of residence and staff. We continue to be grateful for everyones efforts and highly recommend this facility. Continue the great work

My mom and dad lived here for almost 2 years. The rooms are more spacious than any other retirement home in the area, which was a big draw for them moving out of their family home. The ability to get help as needed was important and the PSWs and nursing staff were always wonderful to them. Pre-covid, they also really enjoyed meal time in the pub and felt well taken care of by the wait staff who knew all their favourite drinks and meals. We were always greeted with a smile by the front desk staff. Everyone worked hard to make it feel like home for them.

We are so grateful to have found Richmond Hill Retirement Residence. My Mom has been living at RHRR for two and a half years and we couldn't be happier. Every staff member is kind and caring and makes my Mom feel like she is living with family. They know every resident's name and in our case our extended family too! I have received numerous texts from the life enrichment team, sharing photos and special activities of which my Mom has participated. They really do make the residents their number one priority! During this very difficult time with Covid-19, the staff have done their very best to keep the residents happy and safe. They have kept us well informed and up to date with all happenings regarding new protocols and public health information. Thank you to all the staff at RHRR for giving my Mom a very special place to live that allows our family to rest easy knowing that she is well cared for and safe. There truly is no better place for our Mom!!

My mom's been at Richmond Hill Retirement Residence for over a year now. I visit frequently so I am familiar with the residence, its staff and its infrastructure. The staff is very caring for the residents. They know all residents by name and treat them like family. They always have something nice to say to make them feel special and comfortable. There are a number of daily events to keep residents occupied and entertained. My mom loves music, so she always attends music evenings when local piano or guitar entertainers come in to host sing-alongs. She likes to sing in the RHRR choir. The environment is relaxed and easy going, while management runs a tight ship: professional and knowledgeable staff, well run food services, in house nurses to administer meds and senior care services. I feel blessed that my mom can spend time in such a nice place where she is safe and well looked after.

My parents moved here from another large enterprise's location where shareholders seem to be the priority. I stayed at Richmond Hill Retirement Residence for a week, following major surgery. Being a newcomer to Toronto and living alone, I had no supports to lean on upon discharge from hospital. While I was considerably younger than the typical Richmond Hill Retirement Residence's respite guest, I was welcomed with open arms. It was extremely reassuring and practical to have a nurse on site 24/7 as well as the logistics of food and housekeeping all taken care of. Personal care options and more, are also available according to guests' needs. When considering this option I was also struck by its affordability as compared with hourly home care options as an alternative. I am sincerely grateful to the kind hearted staff for the role they played in my recovery, and wish them all the very best!
