The Regional Director, Alicia, and her team managed to place BOTH my parents in a week and a half. They navigated financials, medical records, placement, and other requirements I know nothing about. I did have to do my diligence on providing documents and information, but we'll worth the efforts. Thank you guys so much! I recommend without reservation.

I just placed my mom in long term care here. The staff is amazing! They worked hard and very fast to get my mother placed. My mom said when she visited she felt safe and free. The facility is beautiful and clean. Thank you Alicia Todd for all your hard work helping to get my mom placed. Everyone has been amazing from the administration to all the staff. Thank you again for working so hard to place my mom.

This review is for a rehabilitation stay. The 3 stars are given for the quality of the physical therapy and the therapists - the ones that worked with my parent were excellent. Also, there are some employees that seemed to care and were doing their very best. Otherwise, this is a truly scary place that seems to be poorly managed. I don't know when it was last evaluated by Medicare, and given a "5 star" rating, but that shouldn't be. I understand there is a general shortage of health care workers, but staffing at Villages seems particularly chaotic. Some aids were outwardly angry and rough. Clothes were sometimes left in the floor, or with a wet adult diaper in them. New patients came in that required PPE outside their door and a warning sign, but staff left their door open all time. Nurses that dispense medication sit by at their computers watching while helpless patients sit for hours in the eating area waiting for the hall aid to take them back to their room. Dining area staff do not cut up food. The doctor assigned to my parent never appeared (staff said he never comes in person), but instead his PA came usually during lunch and just talked to my parent, no physical exam. Other doctors visited with patients in detail during lunch so all of us at the table heard it all. Hall aids sometimes said they had more than 20 people to take care of. Medical supplies with names other than my parents name were left in the room. Hours went by when no one checked on my parent. Medications were not given at regular times - the schedule seemed to depend on the nurse, whether they stuck to the regular time (2 hour window) each day. Staff conducts a patient evaluation with family after 1 week to make recommendations on follow-up care, and that's it. They never do another evaluation, so when the patient is discharged, you may be poorly prepared to care for them if things have changed. Social workers admit they have too many patients to keep detailed information on. If you or family are fairly independent and can toilet, shower and get yourself to the eating area by yourself, then you might be OK here. If you are helpless or family members are helpless, family needs to be with you daily to monitor what is going on.

I can't say enough about the kind and respectful care my mother was given during her stay for rehab. Everyone that we encountered seemed to really enjoy their job which was shown in how they cared for mom. Thank you so much VASH and I would recommend your facility to anyone in need of rehab.

Well I know everyone has their own opinion but I have to give Villages at Southern Hills and big 1000 because my father was in there for rehab and the whole staff was really good taking care of him when my mother and I couldn't be there he really enjoyed the food that was prepared for him so thank you Villages for taking such good care of my dad but there's one person who stick out over the rest her name was Sissy she's such an amazing person and she truly enjoys her job and she stepped up everyday to check in on my dad if he wanted a shower and just to say hey we will miss seeing her smile everyday but my dad is now back at home but I just wanted to say a big thank you for the care everyone gave my dad we love you all may God bless this facility and everyone working in it. Thank you again

I had the great pleasure of being in this facility for rehabilitation for several weeks last year. This was my first time in a skilled nursing center so I did not know what to expect but it was an incredible experience. My rehab team - George, Jennifer, and Valerie were very dedicated and made sure that I got the physical therapy I needed to make a good recovery. And I appreciated so much Sheila's help in getting me to and from therapy. The nursing staff….in particular Jessica and Charlene….were top-notch. The facility was experiencing some staffing challenges, but everyone went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the patients received more than adequate care. I don't know that I have ever seen a harder working group of people. A very unexpected pleasure was the activities arranged for the guests…. from weekly bingo games to movies complete with popcorn and snacks. I actually participated in a finger painting class….something I was at first reluctant to do, but thoroughly enjoyed. And she published a daily calendar of all activities and hand-delivered it to every resident's room first thing each morning. The food was good……much better than expected. If you didn't like what was on the menu, there was an alternate menu that could be ordered from anytime. The grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup were very good and the Cobb salad was excellent. I was lucky to be there during Christmas when the entire staff went all out to decorate the facility beautifully. The administrative team was very professional and available to answer any questions that arose. And the cleaning ladies were SO nice and friendly and did a bang-up job with my room every single day. The Executive Director, Lee, plays a very active and visible role in managing the property. He was readily available to anyone who had any concerns or needs. (He actually personally delivered a new mattress to my room!!!) I will definitely be paying a return visit after some upcoming surgery.

I unreservedly recommend The Villages at Southern Hills to care for your loved ones. My aunt was a resident and the staff was loving and patient and kind. My aunt had many challenges and a lot of decisions had to be made at various times regarding her care. Lee, the Executive Director, kept me informed and was always available to answer questions. He also checked on my aunt daily. Thank you to everyone at The Villages!

While the general services was basically satisfactory. I would NOT give the food served to my dog! Many patients simply left it on their plates. In order to have something to eat I asked my family to bring several cans of soup. They also brought sandwiches and salads. The food served by the skilled nurse establishment is garbage! It's a shame that I had to provide my own food. I even brought a small refrigerator in order to have fresh food. I will never recommend this skilled nursing facility!!!!!

My mother was here shortly after Thanksgiving for physical therapy for her legs and skilled nursing to try to get her back home until the morning of December the 5th when she had a massive heart attack in her room. Before the attack they gave my mother amazing care they checked on her very frequently to make sure she hadn't wet herself or anything, they helped her with her meals, they would help her call me, they would even get her snacks when she asked. At the time of her heart attack they're swift actions saved my mother's life and gave me another week and a half with her, unfortunately she did end up passing away just before Christmas but I wouldn't have had the extra time with her had it not been for their quick response and actions to save her life. I understand everyone has a different experience at place, but mine here was beyond sterling. Thank you so very much to all the staff and nurses at this facility.

For me the staff at The Villages at Southern Hills have been nothing but great, the nurses seem to come to know you and the CNAs are angels especially one in particularly is the young lady called Unique. For my PT, George & Rey are the best at what they do not only do they work you out but there encouraging words makes a big difference in my recovery. I am very satisfied with my treatment. My great grandma is currently at this facility for rehab to build up her strength so she can carry out her daily routine easier and continue to enhance her mobility. First, I want to say the Occupational Therapist Robbie is a godsend. She was extremely helpful and very patient and compassionate. The night nurses aides, however, need to be fired. They left my granny (who has to wear a diaper due to incontinence) in the same diaper from 6pm (when my grandma changed her) to 8:30am when I got there and changed her in the same diaper. She was soaked and stunk and was really embarrassed. She said nobody ever comes and checks on her and she needs constant supervision. I was appalled by the lack of care provided by the nurses aides here.

Good PT & OT. Not good for getting everyday needs met. Nurses station N/A after 7 rings in 2 hrs. I needed a "go to person &/or relative" to check on me daily. Aid wheeled me into a door jam hitting the side of my hip surgery. With my walker I'd go down the hall for ice & saw 1 employee. Not a even a smile, annoyed if anything! Stood at nurses station for 20 min.waiting for a "can I help you?" I finally asked "can I get some ice?" The 1 employee had to get the ice! Patients that aren't as mobile as I am. They're just laying, waiting, needing someone to care. It's a very SAD think that this facility can't be there for them.

Our mother was in the Village from Nov. 3,2021 until Jan.21,2022 and they were excellent. She stayed in the Skilled section from Nov.3 until Dec.1. She then moved into Respite Care for 6 weeks and that was the best decision that me and my siblings made. At that time we were unable to provide her with the care she needed. She started to get her strength back, her social skills improved because she came out of her room and got involved in the activities. In my opinion when people are ill especially when they have been very dependent it is difficult to depend on others, so this gave her some of her independence back. They arranged transportation to the doctor’s office which allowed me to go with her and my brother met us there. In Respite Care it allowed those of us that were working to come after work, visit with her on the weekends family and friends. She was able to receive therapy two days a week and a nurse came one day a week. Also, medication needs were taken care of. Our family was able to visit everyday, anytime of the day or night and every day and stay as long as we liked. So our family was always there and they knew us by sight and name. Dr. Sharma and the nursing staff were exceptional; however, most of the millennials who were techs, walked around with ear-phones on and would be talking to whomever was on the other line, while they were in my room. I would ask a question or ask for something specific and thought they were answering me but they were answering somebody else. This made me feel like they didnt care about my needs. Half the time,I would have to ask several times for a particular thing like pain medicine or towels. Whenever the nurses would come in, to check my blood sugar or give routine meds, I would ask if they got the message from a tech that I needed something for pain, the nurse would say, No!—with a surprised expression on their faces. On Thursday (June 24th.) before I left the facility (June 29th.) I had asked my tech 3 times to please take my laundry down to be washed. I explained that I was leaving on Tuesday and didnt want to go home without my clothes. While being pushed in the wheelchair, on my way down to therapy (around 4:15) I requested, again, if she would please take my laundry down and she replied, Yes, in a stern, annoyed voice. When I came back from therapy, I saw the tech. standing outside the therapy hallway and she confirmed that she had taken laundry down. On Friday, she acted very rude to me. I have a rotator-cuff tear in both shoulders and the bedside tray was difficult to adjust; therefore, I asked her to please raise it up so I could eat my breakfast. She snapped at me and told me, basically, that I could get out of bed and do it myself. After I explained the problem with my shoulders, she huffed out of the room. I wondered why she was so rude to me that day whenever she had been pleasant towards me the other days (other than the laundry issue). I requested that someone find my laundry,on Monday and Tues—I wanted my clothes to take home with me. My nurse and tech, on Tuesday, before I left, were so kind to me, trying to find my brand new clothes (I had just purchased many of them with my stimulus money, ordering online while being in the hospital for 3O+ days. I had not bought clothes for myself, since retiring from teaching 6 yrs. ago). The administrator, also, looked for them. Nobody could find them. She even went through my own closets and bags—not sure what she hoped to find, in my own bags. She found one pair of black pants of mine, in the laundry room, one that I had sent down the previous weeks. My name was on the very back, inside all of my clothing. If the clothing was thin or dark material, I wrote my initial and last name, D. Lyle, on the sm. white tag. on the side of the garment. I feel that if someone would look at the security system for Thurs. and Fri., between 4 and 7:00 p.m., they would see the person on duty that Thurs. and Fri ., and leaving with a white trash bag ,full of my new clothes. Nobody has contacted me since June 29th., in regards to my clothing, even though I was told Id be reimbursed.5

The assisted living at The Villages is the best out there! Amy and her team go above and beyond to take care of your loved ones. They make themselves available day and night. They are proactive about communication and take the time to make sure you understand options, solutions and outcomes. During the start of COVID we were always made aware of their plans and the reasoning behind it. They made sure we could still communicate and get updates about our family by helping set up FaceTimes or phone calls, sending pictures, and calling families themselves with updates. They scheduled individual time to spend with your loved ones and would do things like fix their hair, paint their nails, reorganize their belongings in their room or just sit and talk to them.their A+ administration, they are constantly looking for fun and engaging activities for their residents- themed party days and meals, enjoyable physical activities, celebrating birthdays, unique craft ideas and so much more.Overall 10-10 recommend assisted living at The Villages at Southern Hills!

I was a patient for two weeks, at The Villages at Southern Hills, rehabilitation facility, in Tulsa, OK and I highly recommend this Center, to anyone who needs help recovering strength and abilities, before returning to there home. The Administration, the Therapists, the Nurses, the Aides or techs, the Dining Room staff and everyone I encountered, were extremely helpful.Again I will recommend VASH to ANY PERSON, who needs any type of care before returning home.Thank you VASH for an excellevnt experience.

These people go above and beyond to take care of their patients and clients. My mom Mary was there for over a month for physical rehab. The nurses, director and aides(not to mention the wonderful ladies at the front who run the clients food and personal items to them every day) were awesome and truly seemed to care about mom and the other folks in the facility. They also take most insurance(mom is on social security and she got in with her Medicare plan). I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking rehab or specialty care for their elderly loved ones.

My father was transferred to this facility for short term rehabilitation. He left the hospital in good spirits and his health was very stable. Upon arrival we were treated as if we had pissed someone off. The nurse aid (nice neck tattoo) was extremely rude and was only interested in sitting in a chair in the hallway and texting on her phone. The nurse call button goes unanswered. It took over two hours on one occasion. Medicine is not given on time and sometimes not at all. My father was on a special diet and he was given regular food three times in a weeks period. Within the week he was infected and had pneumonia. When I told them I was moving him to another facility they told me I couldn’t and it would take a doctor’s order and several days. Needless to say I told them to go to hell and I moved him to another facility that same day. Within two weeks at the new facility he was happy and healthy. Within a month he went home and is still home. I am positive he would have died in this place. PLEASE don’t send a loved one there! They only care about the Medicare checks.

Our mom spent her final year in several different skilled nursing facilities in Tulsa. At the Villages, she spent time in skilled nursing, assisted living, and finally long term care. This facility was unquestionably the best. From the moment we entered the door, I experienced a positive environment. My sincerest thanks go to the staff and medical team for the professionalism, compassion, attention, and care shown to mom.

My grandma spent 3 weeks in skilled nursing. The staff was kind and attentive to my grandma and seemed to be very concerned about her comfort. The food and the dining atmosphere were not like a facility of any sort, it was more like dining in a restaurant. We are sad to be leaving.

My experiences here were wonderful! I had severe reactions to a surgery I had and we didn't know why. I came to the Viillages not knowing who I was or where I was but my family was with me. The staff had to help me with EVERYTHING. Toileting, bathing etc. I was back and forth between this facility and the hospital for 4 months and for the first three I could not walk at all. The therapist tried everything they knew to help me. Given all of the attempts I still had no feelings in my legs but they never gave up on me. My therapy team stuck with me while I was in an out of confusion and finally when I came to realization they had me exercise to the point I regained my strength and cognitive abilities! Nowadays, I'm back to my full level of functioning. I can walk, drive (even long distances), and I can keep my complete independence all because of the excellent care I received from the Villages at Southern Hills. Thank you to the nursing staff, physical therapy team and all of the other staff that make this place wonderful.

My dad lives there. He seems very happy there. He expresses that he really likes it there. My daughter befriended a gentleman named John. I said she should make a point to visit him as well the next time we come. She didn't get his last name but she enjoyed his company as well. The only improvement I can see is adding an aquatic facility to help the elderly with mobility and exercise.

We recently placed our mom into assisted living and after investigating several facilities around Atlanta, chose Plantation South of Dunwoody. The management and staff were very helpful during this difficult transition. They have guided our family with all aspects which have included suggestions on financial and the ever difficult emotional roller coaster we all have been going through. Our mother was very independent so this move has not been easy for her, but the folks at Plantation have become ever familiar with her needs. This has made her feel much more a member a group rather than an outcast or "number". We have been amazed at her attitude change only after two short months. We visit her often and every person there has always been friendly and most helpful. We're very happy and proud with our decision to have made Plantation South Dunwoody our mom's new home.

When my father became very ill last year, we had to find a place where he could be in nursing care and my mother could be in assisted living, due to their different needs. The Villages worked with us well. While my father was in skilled nursing, we generally had good experiences, although there were times when we would have liked a quicker response. However, the time was very stressful, and my father was released from the hospital and readmitted a number of times. I think that the Villages staff likely did their best under difficult circumstances. When he declined to return to the hospital and went into hospice status, the skilled nursing staff was wonderful. He lasted only a couple of days, and during that time, the staff did absolutely EVERYTHING that they could to make the end as comfortable as possible for both him and his family. We received hugs and shared tears with staff members. We felt that they certainly went out of their way to support us. The room was very nice physically, and we were able to join as a family and support one another in a setting that felt as much like a home setting as would be possible with the support we needed. My mother has lived in an assisted living apartment at the Villages for the last year. Of course, there are occasional irritations. That is part of life. However, overall, the facility is lovely, and the staff is caring. The assisted living director, Kim, is always responsive when I have a concern. We wish that we didn't have to utilize an assisted living facility, but feel like the Villages has been about the best we could hope for under the circumstances.
