Making a change in life and starting a new chapter is never easy. But the people at Brookdale are so knowledgeable, understanding and kind that it helps not just the Resident, but also the family make that transition. We cannot be more pleased with the loving care and personal attention that is given to our parents. They care about every little aspect of the individual. Right down to the sliced onion on a plate. It's small individual details like that , that show they care and make all the difference in the world. We are very blessed to have found Brookdale. Mother said ." I don't want to leave this place ." My dad lives at Brookdale. I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of the staff. CNAs/CMA's/Kitchen staff/Facilities, etc you are amazing! Thank you for the hard work you do. Dad is treated with care and respect. Management and caregivers are always available and responsive. The facility is so clean and beautiful. I highly recommend Brookdale Shawnee.

I have gotten the opportunity to work side-by-side with the Brookdale Shawnee management team this past month. To say I am in awe of their team would be an understatement. From ED, to Sales, to Activities, to Nursing, they are all truly amazing individuals, and are dynamite together as a team.

Brookdale Shawnee nestled in the heart of Shawnee Kansas offers a wonderful staff of caring and devoted representatives to care for loved ones. The community is beautiful, the food is great and its really about the staff-the whole team there cares about each and every resident!

This is a beautiful facility. They just put down new carpet. They have an amazing chef in their dietary department. The staff is very caring and attentive.

My 90 year old Mother lives at Brookdale in Shawnee and loves it! The staff and caregivers are always attentive, gentle, and loving to her. It is a beautiful facility with a lovely dining room, fireplace and books in the common area. There is an outside yard with a grill where the staff does cookouts, raised flower beds where the residents can plant flowers, and a colony of live turtles they can watch. The cooks, Chris and Justin are fantastic, and make the meals from scratch - they don't use canned "glop" found in lesser quality care facilities, so the food is great and tasty. Plus, they come by with snacks every evening such as fresh fruit, cookies, cake, pudding, Chex mix, etc. Last week they had Family Night and we were all treated to a huge cookout of burgers, hot dogs, chicken breast, several salads, watermelon slices. They even had horse-drawn carriage rides! Mom's medications are handled and dispensed superbly. She is truly treated like "family" at all times, and I would highly recommend Brookdale Shawnee if you are looking for an outstanding care facility for an elderly family member.

My dad has been there for 2 years. He is happy there, the staff is friendly. the facility is always clean. in fact, it looks more like a hotel than a nursing home. Management is always attentive to any concerns i may have, and have always tried to seek a speedy resolution to any request.

I work at this community, and I can't imagine being anywhere else! I have been an employee here for almost 1 year and my experience has been great! When I started, all of the employees and residents were so welcoming. What I love most is how our residents are like a little family. They are all welcoming to new residents who move in. It's nice to work in a community where everyone is friendly.

My mom lives at Brookdale. She is treated with love, care and respect. Management and caregivers are responsive to any questions or concerns we may have. The facility is beautiful and well-maintained. I highly recommend Brookdale for assisted living!
