What a beautiful and well maintained assisted living center. Every staff member, we walked past doing our tour didn't know us from Adam spoke to us to say hello. I mean every single employee. The coordinators name was Connie. She was very helpful very polite, not pushy. Very informative. Quality of life is essential for our seniors. I believe this facility offers just that for my mother of 89 years of age.

I recently visited with a group of Christmas carolers with permission to walk thru the facility singing to the residents in the dining rooms as well as down the halls. This place was very clean and smelled nice. The residents were happy to see us and some even sang along.

Visited my friend who recently moved there. She has nice studio apartment. She is adjusting to this unexpected change slowly. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The place was clean and neat with a pleasant atmosphere. She has a roomy walk-in bathroom with shower! No stove, but a sonk, microwave and fullsize smaller refrigerator.

The staff and facilities at Sommerset are just what was needed! A much easier transition than I was expecting. A great, comfortable, friendly place when you can no longer live at your home. Our Mom is very happy here and really enjoys the food! (After hours calls returned promptly. Great peace of mind for us all.)

It is a difficult decision to choose assisted living/memory care. The positives regarding Sommerset: CMA very knowledgeable and. Individual locked boxes for medication of your loved one 2. Utilization of pharmacy of patients choice. 3. On site PT, OT and speech therapy if ordered. 4. A progressive unit that cares for patient who is mobile, allowing rest periods. This unit also has a higher staffing matrix. The answers I received regarding hospice reflected increased care without having to discontinue comfort medications. Patients appeared cleaned. The units were clean. I enjoy Connie.

I and my sisters would like to express our appreciation and heart felt thanks to the nurses and staff of Sommerset for the love and care our mother, Rhoda, received while she was a resident at Sommerset. From August 2022 until her passing on April 27, 2023, our mother received the care she needed as well as the love and respect from each and every member associated with Sommerset. My mom has lived at Sommerset since 2019. She is in the progressive care area and thrives there. The staff is always cheerful and considerate, prompt and attentive. We could not ask for a better people to be caring for her!

We only get to visit my grandpa when we are in town, which unfortunately is only 2-3 times a year. The staff are very professional and are happy to answer questions and walk you to where you need to be for the visit. The facilities are very clean and welcoming. He is in a warm and caring place which makes me feel good.

My aunt has been part of Sommerset Neighborhood for a couple years. We would rather she was able to be independent but she cannot stay alone. She has been well taken care of. They are attentive & very nice. Their strict Covid policies kept their folks safe. Even though there were some cases, most of the residents had shots & boosters. From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted with a kind, caring and helpful person. I brought magazines and crossword puzzle books and rhe lady at the front desk really appreciated it. I was there to see a friend and as always, I leave with a feeling that the residents are taken care of and happy.

Took my mother to visit my Aunt in stage 3 memory care. Personal was friendly and helpful. My aunts room was tidy and she was clean and appeared to be well cared for. It is always sad when our older family needs extra help for day to day living. From what I could see she was well cared for.

Walking into Sommerset It just felt so warm and inviting. The staff made me feel like I had been there for a while and I was there lifelong friend. I would recommend Sommerset neighbor to anyone that was looking for a wonderful place to live.

We moved both of my parents into this facility in the Summer of 2019. Dad had early to mid-stage dementia and diabetes. Mom had a host of physical problems. My father passed away in November of 2020 from full stage dementia and heart failure. My mom passed away in February of 2021 from COVID. I am conflicted when writing this review. There were some good things, and some bad things about this place. I provide this feedback in hopes of sparking the desire for the facility to improve. The Good The facility is clean and doesn't smell bad. Staff is generally friendly and courteous. They have strict security procedures for narcotics and they work! They caught a part time nurse attempting to steal my mother's pain meds. They prosecuted the offender to the fullest extent of the law, including revoking that person's license, and replaced all of the stolen meds. They managed to keep COVID out of the facility for 10 months A herculean feat! They did their best to offer activities for residents and families during the lockdown. There were a few staff members who would go out of their way to help you. My parents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and the activities coordinator make a big celebration out of it, even during the lockdown. The Bad The food is awful. Awful, Awful, Awful. Before the lockdowns, we would sit with Dad during mealtimes and the food was disgusting. Flavorless, overcooked, mostly just reheated, processed food. Most of the time it was cold before it got served to his table. Communication systems are very poor. They don't answer the phones, you can't get through to talk to anyone, they don't respond to email and are slow to return voicemail. We tried to have a virtual meeting to discuss my father's status and the progression of his dementia, and they didn't have the capability and didn't want to invest in upgraded technology. There was one Nurse Manager, who would ridicule and harass my father. In the beginning, he was in the phase one unit bc they didn't have space for him in the memory unit. He struggled with incontinence and just wanted to be near our mother, and this lady was downright mean to him. She ultimately left, but this person should have never been placed in a leadership position. There needs to be better oversight of the staff, including the supervisors. When my father DIED—my mother was just down the hall in another wing, and NO-ONE bothered to tell her. I had to call her and give her the news after the on-call hospice nurse (a third party) called the family. They have a high turnover of staff. Maybe they should pay more. Elder care facility executives have high salaries. Maybe they should invest more in their rank in file employees and get a better quality of worker. We had several items turn up missing from their rooms. My father's wedding band, my mother's ruby necklace, and some other very sentimental items. They did an "investigation," but nothing turned up. We installed trailcams in the rooms to help with security, but when we cleaned out the rooms, the SD cards from both cameras were missing. It took 3 months to get our mobility scooter deposit back, and they originally weren't going to give it back. They said they typically don't return it because of damage to the walls, but there was no damage to the walls in my mother's room. If you don't plan to return the deposit, then its not a deposit, it's a fee and they should make residents/families aware of that up front. Overall, I give this place a C. There are some good things, but there is much room for improvement.

I have been coming to Sommerset to visit a dear friend, the atomphere and at home feeling was one of the first things I noticed!! The staff and coordinators go over and beyond to care for their residents.. I love how they always have activities and social gatherings for the residents.. I highly recommend this place for your love one!
