We recently moved Mom into Legend Assisted Living at Rivendell from another assisted living facility. Although everything is still new, the difference is like night and day. We could see and feel it the moment we walked in and asked for a tour. From our first delightful contact with the Sales Director, Mary, through the no nonsense discussions with the Facility Director, Amanda, our initial impressions were validated. Subsequent contact with the facility staff only served to solidify the positivity of the environment. The Chef, Sabir, brings a tasty delight to the table for every resident daily. Not only will you see the dining staff waiting tables at mealtime, you are likely to see the Life Enrichment Director, Carrie, and even Amanda. You will most certainly see Sabir at every meal as he visits with and checks on residents. You will see staff at every level sporting a smile and engaging the residents and visiting family by name. The residents are also quite engaging and welcoming to all. Many may say that we are still in the honeymoon stage, and that cannot be argued. There are no blinders here, and nobody is prefect, but it is encouraged to anyone seeking an assisted living facility to look at Legend at Rivendell. You will see the difference for yourself.

My dad has been here since February and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. We are so happy with the care he is receiving! We are there almost daily. The administration has created such a wonderful environment for the staff and residents. Everyone is so welcoming and truly cares for the residents. They always have a smile and truly seem to love working there. They are so understanding and patient. They are giving my dad wonderful care. The food is amazing. Chef Sabir and his team do an excellent job!! We have enjoyed many wonderful lunches and dinners with my dad. Ben in maintenance does an outstanding job. He is quick to resolve any issues and has been a great help! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a wonderful and caring place for your loved one.

My parents have been living here since April and Now just my Dad. When my mother passed the staff and residents poured out so much love and support to my dad. It is a fantastic community. All of the staff is great and loving they show so much compassion for their residents. I am so thankful for all of them! The food is great and they have different fun events for the residents and their families. My father moved to Legend at Rivendell Assisted Living after a prolonged downturn in his physical and emotional health. In one year we have seen phenomenal improvement. As my brother noted, it’s good to have dad back. Their professional expertise is the best I’ve seen and experienced, and with it the kindest and most attentive staff who not only care deeply for my dad, but our entire family. They truly are family, and we are able to live at peace, confident that my dad is being cared for. He is as content and at peace as much as I’ve ever known. He enjoys and respects the staff, has many resident friends, excellent healthcare and physical rehab and attention, enjoys the many activities, and thoroughly enjoys the food. Our experience with Legend has been far beyond our expectations and hopes, and we owe them much. I and my family enthusiastically endorse and support Legends them, each and as a service family.

My dad often tells me how happy he is to be at Legend. After his wife passed in December, they worked with us to get him moved in before Christmas. When I backed the u-haul in I was expecting my brother and I to be spending hours unloading, but Ben saw me and offered his help and got his team involved. What a life saver. Chef Sabir, Lakeisha and many others give my dad a quality of life he hadn't had in years.

Our visit to Legends was a top notch experience. From the warmth of the flaming fireplaces to the smiles of the employees. This place was a home we'd have a relative live. We couldn't have dreamed of a better spot to receive great care. The community is a really good mid-sized facility. It is not too big and it is not too small. They have lots of activities going on every day. It was a great experience. 5 Stars!

My wife Susan and I have attended several social functions at Rivendell and the staff is extraordinarily friendly with our group. More importantly, I have watched the staff in the background interact with residents and family members. The residents are treated like family and the "real family" members seem happy with the care their loved ones are receiving at Rivendell. If someone in your family need this level of care; do you own diligence, but I would be confident in considering their services for me.

DON'T DO IT!!! Read the reviews as they are accurate. We experienced many of the issues cited in the negative reviews. Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews; many of which I notice are written by employees or former employees. While there are some amazing employees including Alex, the life enrichment coordinator, there are not enough of them to go around and employees are overworked and not supported by management. One of the biggest issues is Legend relies way too much on temporary employees with inadequate or no supervision, resulting in sleeping on the job, playing on their phones and socializing while neglecting residents. Calls and emails to the corporate office with issues were ignored. I offered COO Chris Mahen a list of issues and concerns for my mother's safety and well-being and he never responded. Pull cords did not work properly in the entire building. Handling of the Covid outbreak within the facility was between poor and nonexistent. I requested to be be released from the contract because of these issues and concern for my mother's safety, which was denied, requiring a payment of over $13,000 to leave. Legend is one of the most expensive Memory Care facilities in the area and at a time that many of their long time employees were quitting, leaving the facility short staffed, they raised the rent substantially two times in two months. They also require a 60 day payment to break the contract, whereas all other facilities it is 30 days. I would highly recommend you check out Harbor Chase Assisted Living and Memory Care. It is so incredibly nice, less expensive and they do not use temporary help. We couldn't be happier with them!

My parents have been living at Legend for 4 months. I could not be happier with the facility. I drop in nearly every day to check on my parents. One of the first things I noticed about Legend was that the staff always has a smile for me when I come in. Employees genuinely care for the residents and are cheerful. My dad loves to tease and be teased, so they tease him. My mother is fairly quiet, so they interact with her in a more reserved manner. Everyone there knew my parents by name by the end of the first week. I feel like they go the extra mile to help my parents with their room, the laundry, getting meals to them or getting them to the dining hall. My parents love the food. The nursing staff tries to abide by my wishes in spite of the fact that my dad often has other ideas. My dad gets confused and frustrated by things, but they are good about cajoling him into a safe alternative. I have never seen angry employees, unsafe conditions, cleanliness problems or issues that have not been addressed in a timely manner. One reason we looked at Legend was an employee I ran into. He had worked there for nearly 2 years and he loved the place. He thought his boss was the best ever. I thought, if someone can work there for 2 years and still love their boss I should check the place out. Placing my parents there was an excellent decision. The cost is high, but you get what you pay for. Edited. It has been 3 years since I wrote this review. Both of my parents have passed away. My review of Legends still stands. They have the best staff ever. After 3 years many of the staff were the same as when my parents moved in. High staff retention says a lot of good things about a place. My mother lived through the covid times. She couldn't understand why I couldn't come in to see her, why I had quit eating with her or why masks. It was hard, but knowing they loved her and were taking excellent care of her made it acceptable.

Facility was clean, neat, and residents well cared for, everything looked fantastic and like a really awesome place until I saw staff on cell phones, staff being bullied and verbally abused by other staff openly , even heard and saw what I am assuming was a supervisor making fun of other employees and using foul language. Employees looked miserable and you could tell that there were segregated groups that if you were not a part of them you were harassed and treated very poorly. This behavior was shocking to see amongst adults and in such a beautiful place, my hat is off to the poor women that have to work and endure such treatment, they are real troopers and despite the noticeable frustration and hurt these ladies were obviously feeling they never once showed it or took it out on a resident, great job ladies and head's up people see the truth and do notice your great job and hard work.
