This one star is mainly in response to a notice my family got about a respiratory “outbreak “ in the building with a request for visitors to wear a mask, but nothing about precautions a RESIDENT should take. Also I WILL BE DISCHARGED VERY SOON AND IF I END UP SICK AT HOME WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TO TELL MY DOCTOR WHAT TO TEST FOR AND WHETHER I HAVE BEEN VACCINATED FOR IT. IGNITE WILL NOT REVEAL THE NAME OF THE INFECTION CITING HIPPA .THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. We were finally told it wasn’t in my area if the building but I go to therapy and walk all over the building and work on activities inna common area.I have had reasonable care at Ignite, not perfect, but Therapy was excellent, call button answered promptly, a decent version of institutional food, but cleanliness of me and my room lousy. At one point for three days there were feces on the floor in front of the sink of my shared bathroom that I reported three times. Finally when housekeeping came on the fourth day for routine cleaning, it was cleaned up.

I arrived here at the OKC location approx 1 week ago. The staff are the nicest and kindest. I would highly recommend the place based on the staff. The food is good and the is plenty of it. They come daily and meet with you and go over your daily diet. The therapy is very good, the equipment is new and clean. Again the staff make this place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing their service.

My mother was in this facility for approximately two weeks. The facility is very dirty and needs to be remodeled. Staff are rude and treated my mom harshly. She was incontinent and needed her diaper changed multiple times a day, and the large male staff members would man-handle her and left her bruised multiple times. Staff stole her phone and then helped me "look" for it. It turned up in the same drawer that we had already checked in several minutes prior. Thankfully the ringer on and that aided in me finding it. Half the staff speak little to no English - mainly heard Spanish and African languages. None of which my mother or myself spoke. Mom would repeatedly wait hours to be changed after pushing the call button. I personally heard staff tell her not to push her button because they had more pressing issues to take care of. PT, OT, and speech therapy were pretty good. They tried to get mom up walking but were not successful due to her non-alcoholic cirrhosis. They were all in agreement that there were issues with the nursing staff when we had our private meeting to discuss discharge. Mom died 10 days after leaving this facility, and while they did nothing to contribute to her death, I'm saddened that her last weeks had to be spent in this facility that could care less about her. This would be my next to last choice for a rehabilitation facility. I'm sure there are worse ones out there but Ignite was pretty bad.

Are you ready for the Good, the Bad and the Happily Every After? My mother is 80 and started her stay here in March 2024. This would be her first stay in a skilled nursing facility for a long length stay, and we didn't know how long. Please keep in mind you will have all types of people at every job. People who are passionate about their job, people who want a check, people who just need a job. Ignite is no different. There are some wonderful people here. The physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy people were amazing. They were so helpful and took an interest and genuinely cared for the patients. They provide encouragement and set goals for the patients. I will say YOU DO NEED to have an advocate for a loved one that is in ANY facility. If you have any doubts, say something. With that being said, I am very protective and close to my mother. You will become familiar with the routine of staff and medication times. There were a couple times where the "wound care" was not caring to the wound (I felt), and I let the Supervisor know. Then the Supervisor made it a point to keep me informed and posted. I was pleased and I again was reassured. Then there was a second incident in reference to the "wound care" and I needed to go beyond the supervisor to the Director. After that rapport was built, I felt that a lot of worries were lifted. I know they are busy and cannot offer one to one with every patients family, but like I said, just be proactive and be an advocate. You are able to visit at any time. You can bring in personals to make it more personal for your loved one. The business portion of Ignite are on top of their stuff. They will assist you thru the billing, insurance, hospitality. The Cafe is a great place to go and relax and take your loved one to get out of their room, play a game and enjoy a drink. They have the patients socialize with both in therapy and in groups, like games and get togethers. They would benefit to hire staff for just that, to assist getting patients to their activities. They do have a shuttle service that can take patients to Dr. Appointments, you just need to schedule in advance. The food there is good. They do offer a good variety, but you can always bring some things in. It may take a few asks to get something done but it does get done. My mom was there for 6 months. I will say that we built some wonderful friendships and fun memories. You also have the chance to make it a good experience. So If you choose Ignite, I hope you have the Happy ending like we did. Thank you to the wonderful people that helped me and my family.
