I toured this community yesterday and it is beautiful! The apartments are spacious and new. The community was clean and the staff was friendly.

My MIL was admitted into WSLs memory care unit in December 2019. At that time she was still highly functioning, verbal and mobile. She was admitted because she had become a danger to herself and to my father-in-law, whom she frequently did not recognize. It was a difficult situation because in her mind she was as capable as she had ever been. She was enraged that she was no longer allowed to drive or handle her own affairs. And she could still carry on conversations and appear normal to others. The situation became awful and all-consuming - and then it got worse - dementia always get worse. The police were involved several times and the last incident resulted in a trip to the ER for both my in-laws. Only then did my FIL concede that he could no longer take care of my MIL in their home (BTW they both hated the 2 weeks of 247 in-home care - which was more expensive than the care at WSL).Despite my in-laws resistance to facility care, I continued to research area facilities and WSL was my top choice for a variety of reasons. It was a surprise to me when the time came that my MIL by-passed assisted living and went straight into memory care. But the research and preparation (paperwork, other planning) paid off when we were able to swiftly move when the last emergency at home arose.My husband and I are relieved that his mother is a resident in WSLs memory care. We do not worry about her. We believe that she is receiving excellent care from a kind, caring and competent staff, led by Lori Pensis, manager of memory care and Angie Howell, DON.I love that WSL is such a beautiful facility with public and private areas, indoors and out, so thoughtfully planned. I love that WSL places such a high priority on engaging their residents in appropriate ways (Samantha and Katherine are wonderful). But more importantly I love the staff at WSL and their dedication to providing excellent care to residents who, like my MIL, are sometimes challenging to care for.My MIL began receiving hospice services in July 2020 and it is a comfort that this did not require her to relocate to a different room or facility. Instead she will live out her life in familiar, comfortable surroundings and with a staff who has cared for her for months. God willing, we will be at her side when she passes.So many times my husband and I have said how grateful we are that his mother was admitted when she was and is at WSL. The COVID-19 restrictions do not impact her. Her life in the memory care unit has been mostly unchanged except that the staff follows all the appropriate protocol and visitation has been changed. Since visitation began again we have visited her many times in the outdoor private patio.That is another thing - whenever we have wanted to visit the staff is always accommodating.Another note - at this point in MILs decline, the price for the memory care unit is a bargain. (I found the cost to be very competitive or better than the other facilities at the top of my list.)Another point - my FIL really likes the food at WSL and hopes that visitorswill be allowed to eat there soon.After 11 months of MIL living in WSLs memory care unit, my husband and I have no regrets about choosing this facility. We highly recommend Westerville Senior Living.

WSL has done a fantastic job managing the COVID epidemic. They put the residents safety first while doing everything they can to maintain morale and activities. The staff cares and their containment results are the proof. My mother is happy there and the family is too!

Westerville Senior Living has been fantastic with my parents. Their staff literally moved my parents in the end of June, helped unpack them, hooked up their TVs, and hung their pictures on the walls. The thought of moving my parents during a pandemic and not being able to assist with the move was so stressful, but Westerville Senior Living went above and beyond to do what they could to make this transition as smooth as possible for all of us. The entire staff is caring, attentive to my parents needs and have proven to us over and over that we made the right decision in choosing Westerville Senior Living!

I highly recommend this environment because the residents are treated with great respect, compassion and expertise. This is a difficult time with the COVID-19 BUT the staff have found a way to keep everyone healthy by following a consistent plan of care. I know my Mother is safe in their hands.
