I personally toured PSCH to see for myself the benefit of this care option for residents challenged with behavioral issues associated with Alzheimers and Dementia As a nurse with 14 years experience in caring for individuals with memory, dementia, and Alzheimers I was taken by the success, the focus on care and flexibility of the environment the residents enjoy at PSCHs. The benefits of a home setting opposed to memory care unit at a facility is much greater transition for residents with cognitive issues, less over stimulation and not as likely to try to elope cause its like home. I have known the owner Steve Brock since 1990 and I have the highest admiration for his residences and his total commitment to care for the elderly. I feel confident I recommend PSCH to families seeking a quality memory care solution.

Let me start out by saying that the caregivers were wonderful and very loving to my husband but not the owner. There were issues with the owner. After I moved my husband in last December when I tried to use our Long Term Care insurance the payment was rejected by the insurance company because the operating license of Personal Senior Care Homes was expired. They were operating without a valid license. It had been expired for two years! My Long Term Care insurance company Prudential was NOT going to pay some place that had an expired license. Mind you the owner told me the license was good but he lied. I would think it is illegal to operate a place with an expired license. When my husband was dying a former wonderful caregiver of my husband who my husband and the whole family loved wanted to come visit him but the owner would not allow her into the house! He had held a former disagreement against her and thus prevented my husband from seeing someone who cared about him from seeing him before he died. Remember I am paying money for my husband to live here. Secondly, after my husband came back from the hospital and was going to be under hospice care we found out a new resident had been accepted. This new resident was highly inappropriate for the house. She had serious problems, was constantly shouting obscenities( several times in front of my grandchildren and also to the hospice worker) had a dog that was having accidents all over the house and she was allowed to smoke. All this was going on while my husband was dying. My husbands relatives wondered what kind of place we had my husband in. It was very bad situation. I would think twice about bringing a loved one here.

My mother and I have been searching for a place for my great aunt to stay and call home. We found it! First off, the staff was so inviting and everyone was so nice. They answered all our questions and really made her feel welcome, plus put our minds at ease. Thank you again for making this long journey, and the choice for her, that much easier.

Compassionate and caring from the start! From the first time I stepped through the door to tour the home before my mom moved here, the owner and staff went out of their way to meet our needs. After my mom moved in, I loved the personal attention she got and home-like atmosphere. The girls truly loved my mom, and I will forever be grateful for them and the care they provided for her. My mom is no longer on this earth, but the girls continue to care for me. They send me pictures and videos of my mom, or they text to see how I am doing. I would recommend PSCH to anyone. They are the best!

When it came time for Mom to move out of her home, I dreaded the search for a nursing home. I had visited a few over the years and found them utterly depressing. I know Mom felt the same way. A friend told me about Personal Senior Care Homes. What a concept! Everyone was so friendly and it had none of the horrible characteristics of traditional elder care institutions. Mom and I sat on a beautiful deck in a suburban neighborhood. We enjoyed the flowers & sunshine while talking with Steve and Kit about their services. This was a BIG step up from my Mom's 80-year-old home! My family was comforted to know she would be well cared for. I'm so happy we found this place, a residence where Mom can stay through all aspects of her life. Thank you, God.

I SO wish I had known about PSCH when my dad had to go somewhere where there was one aid taking care of 15-20 elderly people in the nursing home where he went. My family and I had to take shifts because it took an hour for anyone to come help when he needed help. Paid a lot of money for subpar care. Not so here. There is one aid taking care of 5 residents. I do the Kroger shopping so if someone wants something special or a specific dinner, I buy it and prepare it. Our residents live in a real house in a beautiful neighborhood.....kind of like the Golden Girls with 24 hour care. It s a boutique approach. If someone wants a grilled cheese at 3:00am or breakfast at 4:00 in the afternoon they get it because we want your loved ones happy. We don t have a tight schedule. Our nurse, Heidi, visits our residents at both house. We bring the doctor, podiatrist, and even a styist to the houses. Hospice can also be brought in so your loved one can age in place. Anyone who walks thru our doors can feel and see the difference. We love and genuinely care about our 'peeps'

I checked out Personal Senior Care Homes of West Chester fall of 2016 when it became evident my mom was not going to be able to stay by herself in her home. Representatives from the center even came to my moms Hospital and brought her flowers. I still remember sitting on the back porch on a beautiful fall afternoon with the owner, Steve, Brock. He has a heart for his mission of loving elder care. I knew it was the perfect place for my mom. Sadly, I was outvoted by my siblings, so mom went to Mallard Cove. Its a lovely place but I truly believe my mother has acquired agoraphobia there. She sits in her apartment and refuses to leave. She doesnt want to bathe or even go across the hall to get her hair set and we cant coax her out the door to go anywhere. As the child who lives closest to her, the burden falls on me to take her depressed calls and keep her company. I truly believe, with all my heart, that things would have been different at the center in West Chester. The workers there are so caring and involved with the residents. Im confident that Mom would have a more fulfilling life and that I would not be overburdened with her care.
