Genesis Village is an awesome place for seniors, both residents and community members. . Plenty to do in a safe environment. Management is truly engaged with everyone who lives there and they are always looking for ways to improve and grow as a community.

Recognizing that, as we age, circumstances can rapidly call for a senior living situation affording daily necessities, and realizing that making a selection of such a facility in a time of stress can be difficult, my wife and i decided to evaluate one such facility. We were offered an opportunity to "trial visit " Genesis Village, a senior living community in Toledo, OH, and found it to be refreshingly satisfying. The family atmosphere there extends from the staff to the residents--we were welcomed by all. We intended to determine the opinions of current residents regarding the conditions at the facility as opposed to a management "sales pitch". It turned out that residents are almost universal in their praise for the facility but particularly for the staff! The culture and environment is warm and caring and provides enrichment both in everyday activities, such as the delicious meals (Yum!) as well as the wide variety of activities available. From the swimming pool to the pool table, from the relaxing garden area to the atrium, library, theater, or dining area, Genesis Village is designed to provide the full spectrum of senior living.

Just stopped to visit a friend. Very nice place. Very warm and inviting. The staff is terrific. Sat by the fireplace, very enjoyable. Surprised that the resident have pets. It's a nice touch.

Hands down the best in Ohio and Michigan! A little town under one roof. The staff take pride in their jobs and truly care about the residents. My Girl Scout troop has done several activities, tree decorating, & partnering with them. Cannot recommend enough!

My mom lives at Genesis and it’s a wonderful place. The staff is great and always helpful. The food is usually very good. We love that there’s a salad and soup bar and the food is served buffet style. The apartments are also spacious for a senior living place. All in all, a great place to live.

4stars because this gives the 55+ folks a wonderful living option. Complete independent living with all the perks taken care of for you. IF you need a bit more help, there is a home health care office RIGHT ON SITE. (its extra per visit, but the help is there if needed). The staff working the building is beyond kind, generous and helpful. The only reason Genesis doesn't get 5 stars is due to the food. They only provide Lunch and dinner (breakfast can be eaten in a cafe, but is just self serve donuts or fruit) and while the lunch and dinner are totally sustainable, it's mediocre at best. Lots of variety, but the meat is usually tough and flavorless and the no amount gravy or thick sauce can hide that.
