I did rehab at this facility & I was 100% impressed. I received physical fitness & occupational therapy separately daily sometimes twice & they really worked me. The aids were fantastic. Remember, they are the daily contact people there. Their attitude makes the stay good, great, or terrible. They were mostly pleasant with no complaints. Even the nurses tried to stay compliant with the distribution. Again, I can’t say enough about the excellence of this place & I have had some terrible experiences of late. I can’t say enough good things about Altercare Newark North. The staff made us feel welcome, supported, and truly cared for. Every team member we encountered from the nurses and aides to the therapists and administrative staff was kind, attentive, and professional. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, which brought us peace of mind knowing our loved one was in a safe environment. The level of care and compassion provided was outstanding. They communicated with us every step of the way, answered our questions patiently, and always made us feel involved in the care process. I can’t speak highly enough about the experience our family has had with aftercare from the moment we walked in, we were met with a warm, welcoming environment that immediately put us at ease. The facility is clean, peaceful, and feels like home. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. Every nurse, aide, and team member we’ve interacted with has shown genuine compassion, patience, and respect for the residents. They take the time to get to know each person and go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels cared for and valued. You can tell they love what they do, and that makes all the difference. I attended the carnival that was held on July 26th. You could really tell how much effort was put into the event. The staff are so kind. Everyone was smiling and the environment itself is just very welcoming. I’m so happy I was able to be there and see the amazing bond between the staff and the residents. I’m excited to see what other projects they’re working towards.

My wife had exceptional care there. Cynthia and Lacey-they have been there for ages and they run a tight ship. Lacey's went out of her way to help me even after my wife has passed and she does what she can. The aides have been there many years. Nurses the same. I owe a lot to them for the care my wife had.

Doesn't share patient process in physical therapy. Asked for physic nurse to call no response, called the doctor the nursing home uses no response in return. Don't seem to want to listen about previous conditions,. Patient has fallen twice with the second fall resulting in a broken hip.

Altercare Newark North has been a breath of fresh air with my mother-in-laws care. We had to transfer to a nursing home after being an inpatient in hospice care at a hospital in Franklin County. We moved to her to a care facility that had extremely high reviews and it was a total nightmare. After trying to five days to get her moved we transferred to Altercare Newark North and Absolute hospice care and they have been amazing. Hannah, Kala, Mya, Kevin and her techs (I wish I knew all their names) they have been so responsive and letting us know what is going on. My MIL is completely dependent for every drink of water and evening moving her for comfort. They put her next to the nurses station so she would be in constant sight. It was great to be able to leave and not have to worry that her needs would be met. The STNAs she has had are so caring and comforting to her. Absolute Hospice has also been nothing short of amazing. Dr. Petryk, Wendi, Beth, and Cody. They are super responsive and when we call they are there quickly and are in constant communications with each other and us. I feel thankful for all of you. Thank you for making this roller coaster we have been on the best it can be. Please keep up what you are doing and truly caring about your patients and their families.

I had a good experience as a patient. The thepary team was excellent. The food was excellent, when I couldn't eat something they had other options available. Many activities offered daily I enjoyed socializing with others.

The Social Service Director, aides & nurses are wonderful & caring! Food service & laundry are good & some of the housekeeping staff do a great job while others are mediocre. The issue is that there isn’t enough staff to not be overworked & be able to do more or better. More help is needed everywhere & the dementia unit needs cleaned up, cleaned out & to not be forgotten, tho this seems like an issue at most homes or at least the for profit ones.

Sylvia and Jessica have been a great help and always answering many of our questions as they arise. The nurses had a good bedside manner with my husband and all his illnesses. This is one of the best skilled nursing facilities he's been in.

Altercare North has gone above and beyond our expectations in providing quality care and living for my father who is in long-term memory care with dementia. They are good at communicating changes of medication or behavior, and providing periodic updates and reviews of his care. They have shown great care during the past year in protecting both residents and staff during the Pandemic, resulting in minimal illness and no death due to Covid-19. The staff treat the residents with respect and dignity. My father truly feels at home there. We have full confidence in his well-being at Altercare North as he journeys through this stage of his life.

The food for my mother was not very good she was at kindred two years ago,their food was much better and they only did what they had to do for her and if she needed to go the bathroom they said just use a bedpan.
