After going through a few different senior living place's which were all very nice we stumbled across a hidden jem. This place was very welcoming, the staff made our mother feel a sense of comfort from day one. It has a homie feel and all of her needs were met. The leadership is strong and kind. The employees are professional and caring. The facility is beautiful and clean. I have lived in Newark my whole life and this is the best place for your family member to move to. The entire staff goes above and beyond for the residents.

I have experienced many other settings but Randall Residence has made me the most comfortable and confident in the care of my parents. It is a smaller community that allowed me and my parents get to know the entire staff quickly and establish a clear line of communication that is responsive, professional and friendly. Most of all, my parents love it and thought of it as “home” almost immediately. I visit often and find it clean, orderly, and offering a variety of activities that would appeal to many residents. Others, who have visited my parents, have expressed to me that they have not been anywhere as nice as Randall Residence in their experience. It is certainly the best kept secret in Newark and Licking County.

My parents have lived at Chestnut House, now Randall Residences, for about seven years. Except during the COVID quarantine I have visited there on the average of twice a week since they moved in an had phone contact almost daily so my experience comes from close up contact. No place is perfect, but the staff has been kind and caring to my parents, always willing to work with the family, and uniformly have been good people.

My father, Myron McCall, lives there & I have been extremely impressed with Betsy's administrative efforts as well as with the medical staff, maintenance & all of the care givers. My dad is very happy there. He has been able to live mostly independently from his perspective but has assistance in receiving his meds regularly, 3 good meals a day, room cleaned & laundry done regularly. Most importantly, he has social interaction with staff & residents. He also enjoys the outside entertainment that comes to Chestnut House & I still have hopes that he will participate in the weekly church services, much as he did in his prior community. Finally, Betsy adds a personal touch with each of the residents, bringing her dog to work occasionally to visit the residents. Betsy also convinced my dad to join a couple committees, for example he participates on a food committee, bringing to bear his experience from his prior church heading its food bank efforts. My niece was instrumental in finding & getting her grandpa into Chestnut House & I thank God often for her efforts & the blessings of having him there.

I have been working at the Chestnut House for 3 years now as the Program Director. It has such a homelike atmosphere with great staff members, loving residents and family members. It's a 5 star community that you don't want to miss. I recommend you stop by to check us out.

I was the Sales and Marketing Director at Chestnut House from December 2014 until March of 2016. The corporate office made a business decision to eliminate my position. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful the executive Director has been. She constantly checked on my job search progress and gave me leads when she heard about them. The most recent one will probably lead to a great new position for me. I miss working with Betsy and the entire staff. I was proud to work with such a wonderful, caring team. The residents were happy and Betsy's first concern was always the happiness was and well being of the residents and staff. She is also very highly respected in the Newark community.

My parents have lived at Chestnut house for over two years and I have been there on the average of two days a week since they moved in. We have had uniformly good experiences there, particularly in comparison with other senior care facilities we have used. The previous poster, Nick Lovell, is a disgruntled former employee so I would suggest that anyone considering Chestnut House, factor that in, check out the state's ratings of the facility, and stop by for a visit before being swayed by his comments. No place is perfect, but the staff at Chestnut House has been kind and caring to my parents. No facility is without flaws but as one who spent a good many years looking after buildings and overseeing maintenance staffs Chestnut House is, in my estimation, competently maintained and supervised.
