In two years my spouse has resided in Mary B Memory Care. The Caregivers are trained to understand and deal with the many forms of dementia and Alzheimer's behaviors. The core staff have many years at Bickford of Middletown and know each resident and their particular needs. All rooms are single person and can be furnished with the residents' familiar items from home. The meals are really very good nutritionally, flavor and variety. If there are special diets required by a resident the kitchen offers options to meet those needs. I am sorry to say that there is no designated Activity Manager in memory care. I hope that position will be filled soon but in the mean time the Caregivers do activities with the residents and bake special snacks in the afternoon. There is no such place that is the perfect facility for memory care but when there is an issue that affects the care of a Mary B resident the Managers and Director will take it seriously and meet with you or address the problem immediately, if possible. I gave my rating as four stars but it's more like 3 and a half currently as they rebuild their staff to what it was a year ago.

I am a hospice nurse that goes to Bickford 5 days a week and it’s by far my favorite facility! The care given there is superb. This is the place I would place my family member in. Hands down best facility in Ohio!!!!

My parents moved in last April and I have been extremely pleased with our decision. The staff has become part of our family. My parents are always complementing the staff and the care they receive. This is exactly where I want my parents to be. Wonderful place.

Bickford is without a doubt the best Assisted living/memory care I have ever seen! The facility is always clean, the staff go out of their way to be helpful and the residents are thriving! My Dad's lived at Bickford of Middletown for a little over a year now and I have to say thank you to the entire staff for taking such good care of him. Everyone is great at tolerating his grumpiness and treats him with the respect and care one would give to a friend or family member. The nursing staff and Aids take very good care of his medical needs and are very attentive.

My dad has been a resident here for awhile now. He has severe dementia. It's rough watching him go through this. Bickford and it's staff does an amazing job at caring for him. He could not be at a better place. The staff members are long term. Most have been there for many years. They actually care about their residents and family's. If you have concerns, there is always someone that you can address that with promptly. We appreciate all they do.

June 2024::Mom has the best assisted living care at Bickford of Middletown. Bickford has the best activities and events each month. Just last month was Mother's Day Brunch prepared by in house Chef Marisa and her culinary staff. The presentation and food was absolutely wonderful for the residents and their families. This month is a Father's Day Cookout ! Can't wait ! The entire staff (administration, nursing, aides, culinary team and staff) is so professional, friendly and thoughtful with each resident. We are so blessed to have Mom loved by a team of talented caregivers who truly have a mission to deliver a higher path for seniors. Bickford of Middletown is the BEST !!! We Thank Bickford for ALL they do ! November 2024:: Activity coordinator Cindy does an excellent job with activites for the residents to keep them moving , motivated and excited with events. The Thanksgiving meal was absolutely delicious with Turkey, Ham and all of the trimmings. Again the Culinary Team were outstanding!!

This place has been amazing! They have taken such great care of my mother the last few years all the way until the end. Every time that I am there visiting all of the staff have been very attentive, kind and caring to all the people that are living there. I could have not done a better job myself and I owe them a huge debt. Keep up the amazing work that you do!!!!

My sweet mother was a resident at Bickfod of Middletown for 4 years. She and I loved the atmosphere, the nurses, aides, director and Activity director, as well as food workers. They all were kind and considerate to both of us. When I couldn't make it to visit with Mom, I'd call the activity director or nurse and get a report on her. They were ALWAYS KIND The facility also had lots of fun programs for the residents and family members. Some of the fun days were County Fair Day, Derby Day, Mother's and Father's day dinners, Thanksgiving family dinner, Christmas gift exchange, Trick or treat, Easter egg hunt with residents getting pictures made with Easter Bunny! Cindy Depew, the activity director was always planning great days. It's a caring, warm facility!!

Bickford is an amazing facility! The entire staff (caregivers, nurses, kitchen, housekeeping, and management) really care about the residents and go above and beyond for all of them. I have never seen another facility do everything they can to make sure the residents feel like Bickford is their home and not just another assisted living. From a kitchen staff who prepares good food made from scratch for all three meals, to all day activities that keep the residents entertained and busy from the time they wake up until they go to bed, to caregivers and nurses who will do anything to provide comfort, care, independence, and safety for a resident, to a housekeeper who cleans and fluffs your room to really feel like home, to a management team who make the residents (and staff) feel seen and heard at all times, Bickford has it all. I would recommend Bickford to anyone in need of a job, a place to live, or a place for their loved one to live.

I was pleased with the overall facility and the care given to my mom. In particular, nurses Beth and Hunter who were so kind and caring with my mom. Nothing compares to Bickford. We are a family as close as your own. We stand up for, encourage, support, and love one another just as brothers and sisters do. We treat, love, respect and care for our residents as if they were our family members because to us they are. Genuine, heartfelt love is shared in this building between all. If you're not a truly caring, giving, honest person you need not apply.

My mom has been living at Bickford of Middletown for five years, and we have been very happy with her care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff are caring and hardworking. Cindy Depew, the activities director, is one of the most energetic, caring and creative people I have ever known. She is always looking for ways to keep residents engaged and happy. Cindy in particular has been a consistent, caring presence who goes out of her way to help - even if the need is outside the scope of her normally assigned duties.

The staff were super accommodating and helpful for our theatre group that needed some space to rehearse for a few days. The residents looked like they were happy and enjoyed talking to us. The facility was clean and tidy. So glad they were able to help us out!!

Bickford, like all healthcare facilities today, is short staffed. That being said, the women and men who work there, in the trenches with residents whose ability to care for themselves runs the gamut, are incredible, compassionate people. They always put the residents first. If one employee has a family situation that causes them to be late, someone steps in and stays, rather than saying, "my shift is done; not my problem." The aides and nurses were so patient and gentle with my husband, always treating him with good humor and respect, even when he was being difficult. The administration was so accommodating to special requests, even helping move my husband from assisted living to memory care. We absolutely feel we made the right choice in picking Bickford. Compared to other facilities we toured, Bickford is good value for money. Pricing is very transparent, and there did not seem to be any hidden costs or add-ons, other than satellite TV. My husband's life expectancy has outlasted the estimation by several months, and I think it is because of the care he received at Bickford. He is still alive and doing as well as can be expected, considering his terminal diagnosis, so we have moved him home to spend the holidays with family. Would I choose Bickford again? YES! They were a haven that got us through a difficult transition. My husband and I both miss it.

We had to relocate our 94 year old aunt here from FL. She was at Bickford of Middletown for just under 7 months before her passing. All of the staff at Bickford is so amazing, caring & truly love their work & loved our lil Aunt. They would call us immediately if there was a medication change or for any issues whatsoever. We had peace of mind knowing she was truly cared for. If we could rate higher than the 5 stars we certainly would. They have been a true Godsend for our family. God bless them all!!
