As a researcher in long-term care, I have spent many hours in numerous assisted living communities over the past 25 years. Kemper House provides wonderful day care for adults with dementia. From the moment you walk in there is a friendly face to welcome you. A sincere thank you to Deanna, who helped me navigate my first experience with my husband. The front desk folks, Guan, Frankie, and Ro- you always greet us with a smile and kind words. Natalie, went above and beyond to help him adjust and have a good day at "work". Thank you for all the creative activities and brain fit classes that are part of the program. I truly appreciate all of you!

My mother suffered from dementia and lived at Kemper House for the last year and a half of her life. I was consistently impressed by the care she received there. Several things stood out to me, but first and foremost among them was the employees. First, there were always many staff members around, and they were actively engaged. They knew the residents well and obviously cared for them. It was striking to me that after my mom passed and I was clearing out her apartment, numerous staff members came up to me not just to express their condolences, but to share a little story about who my mom was to them. That spoke volumes to me about the kind of care she received at Kemper House, over and above what I saw in my interactions when I visited. The communicated consistently and promptly when either something happened (a fall, a behavioral incident, illness), and were extremely helpful in coordinating care, whether that was doctors coming in or mom needing to go out to the hospital. In sum, there's nowhere I would recommend more highly to anyone I know who is looking for a partner in the care of a loved one with dementia.

After hearing about Kemper House, I decided to visit one of their support group sessions about dementia. I met Kathy at one of their Mayfield Library meeting times. She listened to the concerns I had about my mom's condition and suggested I contact Deanna to arrange a visit with my mom at their Day Friend program to observe daily activities at the house. We did that...and now my mom goes back for more visits. From the time you walk in the door, you're greeted into the building, and everyone makes sure you feel welcome. The entire staff is phenomenal. They're creative in the way they word instructions to those with cognitive decline, so it doesn't make those suffering feel any different in their abilities. I find it to be a wonderful place to engage my mom to do things she enjoyed in her prime. She participates in programs with Natalie (some mind and some physical workout sessions). They also have cooking classes and seasonal activities that are fun and interest her. She seems comfortable and happy to go to a place with new friends. It's been a delight to see her socialize and fit right in at Kemper House!

The staff at Kemper House treated my husband with the highest quality of care and respect as he spent his final days there. I only wish I had learned about them sooner. They are head and shoulders above the other facility and hospital units my husband spent time in. I am so grateful for the care they took of him and my family.

My wife has attended Kemper House in Highland Heights for over a year. It’s been a great place for her to enjoy activities a couple of days each week. I’m impressed by how every employee greets her warmly and is always cheerful. They engage her in physical exercises, brain stimulating activities, and tasks that use her particular skillssuch as putting up decorations or taking care of plants. I can’t recommend them enough for folks who are slipping in cognitive skills and need diversions to keep them engaged during the day. I am thrilled with the care that my mother has received since we moved her to Kemper House. Best decision ever! Both Kathy and Deeanne were amazing to work with, and showed incredible grace and care with both my mother and me as we navigated these difficult times. Since we moved her seven months ago, the care continues to be stellar. The activities director Noah Budin is notv only talented but also incredibly kind and patient with every single resident. There are always many staff/care givers on hand to help the residents and every single care giver/ staff member has been kind, professional, engaged and skilled in their roles at Kemper House. I recommend Kemper House to anyone struggling with the decision to placed a loved one in the care of others. This is a hard and heart wrenching time in our lives as we watch our mom slowly dissapear from us, and the staff and admin couldn't be any more amazing! Thank you Kemper House for giving us a place to feel at home with for our mom.

I love Kemper House. I take my mom there for the day program twice a week. She loves to go on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon because the chef is there and he lets her help. Some days she doesn’t want to go because she feels she doesn’t know what she is doing but as soon as she walks in the staff greets her such warmth and big smiles she lights right up! It makes me feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and brings out the mom that I know is still in there. We had to redo our budget but it’s worth every penny to see how she responds. Everyone there is caring, friendly and extremely sensitive to our situation. I honestly don’t know what I would do without Kemper House!

We found Kemper House for Mom two years ago when assisted living became too difficult for her. Was it our choice to move her to Kemper House? We had to acknowledge her dementia. Are we happy that she is at Kemper? We could not be more certain that she has landed in the right place. We are happy with the living accommodations , daily activities, medical care and careful dietary choices. Best of all is a staff who cares and keeps us informed! We highly recommend Kemper House as a home for your loved ones who suffer from dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
