My dad was sent to Alter care in Cuyahoga Falls for rehab after a fall. He absolutely loves it there!! The staff is amazing!! Everyone is so friendly and he gets the best care! I don't have to worry about him at all! The food is even good! He gets his physical therapy everyday and has even made friends! I'm not sure he is going to want to leave! Thank you so very much for taking such wonderful care of all your patients it really means a lot to not have to worry about their care when we're not around. God Bless you all!

I really enjoyed my stay at this faciltiy. The therapy staff was amazing, the nurses and aids were very attentive and nice. The food was the best I have had in quite sometime. I hightly recommend this facility to anyone that may need some help. Thanks

It was my first time in a place such as this, and I was really nervous about staying here, but they made me feel comfortable like I was in my own home. All the nurses and aides were very kind to me and very helpful when I needed help. All the staff were friendly and very interactive with me and other residents, it was really nice. I would most certainly recommend this facility to other people looking for short term or long term care.

Altercare helped get my dad back on his feet. I'm so thankful for everything they did for me and my father. So many of the nurses, pt and other staff helped us stay positive and even made a difficult time fun and lighthearted! Couldn't have sent him to a better place.

I was very well taken care of and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The food what good and HOT. I loved my privacy when needed. My room was always clean and the housekeeping staff was excellent. I appreciated the staff allowing my dog to visit frequently and I made a lot of good friends. I high recommend this facility.

My husband and I have been relieved to find Altercare for my mother-in-law, who is an Alzheimer's patient. She also has specific dietary needs and many facilities would not accept her because of that. We've also been relieved at the care she's received at Altercare--the staff are all so friendly and engaged and attentive, the facility is clean and cozy, and we've been receiving frequent updates about her care from the social worker, doctor, and nursing staff. We have so much more peace of mind knowing that she's in a place where we are confident that she is safe and her needs are met 24/7, and we no longer need to worry about her being home alone while we are at work.

The facility has undergone several renovations making it an even more comfortable and inviting place than ever before. The staff is hard working and is able to quickly work together to solve any issues that may arise. Efficient and caring staff provide loving care to the residents and their families. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs to have peace of mind when it comes to the care of their loved ones.

My father was in Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls last January & was in bad shape...my initial experience with the building was less than stellar due to the sewage smell & age of the building. Since that time, my father has been in another facility that did not rehab him. He is currently back in Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls & they are truly making a difference in his health. While it's not the most beautiful facility THEY DO THE WORK THAT MATTERS!

It's exciting to see great new staff members joining the team as we anticipate the coming renovations. It's a fabulous time to be a part of Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls! These have been challenging times, but I'm so proud to be a part of this team that had not one single loss of life due to Covid!

So, I will focus on the positive. No one died. There was a fun concert outside with a pop tunes vocalist. There is ample room to sit and visit. There are three meals a day and windows in every room. The nurses are competent (Jeremy is EXCELLENT). The regular front desk personnel is friendly and efficient. (Thank you Evan). PT and OT are knowledgeable and helpful. ( I am sorry to have forgotten your names; Robbie and ?) Caution- negative vibes to follow: The major draw backs appear to be that the management or owners are not involved enough to realize how understaffed this place is. The low wage staff are burnt out and it shows. They do not have enough "buy in" for their jobs to do much more than play on their phones and make sure no one dies. The air ducts are in serious need of cleaning. Again, I propose this is CEO problems, sitting back, getting the MONEY and not managing the facility accordingly. The kitchen would benefit from a higher quality food distributor. The place might benefit from some revamped wages and programs to boost employee morale. Thank you for your time.

They are always short staffed, always smells of feces and urine because the residents haven't been changed, meals are always late and cold most of the time. They don't have a dietary menu for residents to use to lose weight and with this COVID19 residents can't get around for exercise. I know I'll probably get in trouble for writing this but someone has to speak up

After applying for a number of jobs on Indeed, I came to this facility because I was called in for an interview for the activities assistant position. Don't know about the nursing to PT ratio here or the quality of PT care. Didn't go any further than the reception area and the HR office. What appeared to be the Residents' central dining room, is located to the right of the receptionist. You'll see it immediately after you've entered the building. The dinning room and reception area are actually one large room. This part of the facility is comfortable, beautifully furnished, and clean. The receptionist was young and unfriendly. Not only did I meet her, I spoke with her three times over the phone. The HR interviewer was young and pleasant. The activities director introduced herself to me. She too was young. She was also friendly. I immediately sensed that she was undecided. After the interview, HR offered me the job. I was sent for the routine physical, which I passed. I didn't hear back from HR. He left early on Friday and was unavailable on Monday, per the receptionist. It was unprofessional that no one returned my phones calls. I had a series of other interviews on Friday and Monday, and accepted a job position with a facility that I felt entirely comfortable with. I was pleased with the fact that there are a number of friendly, experienced, and aging professionals with whom I will be working. Five stars for the reception and dining room areas Five stars for the phone call that I later received from the administrator. She explained that HR is a recent hire and still learning. She also apologized for the confusion that resulted from my experience. A stand-up nursing home administrator is a rarity. Because she cared enough to call me, I believe that she runs her facility with the same caring attitude for her Residents and employees.

I don't understand all these bad reviews. I broke my hips and had them replaced and was in there 2 months. Therapy was great. Even when I wasn't scheduled I went in and did as much extra as I could for myself. I was in during Christmas a and santa came room to room with gift specific to me. A zip up jacket that was my size. I was not impressed with the menu but I understand that more elderly cannot have spices or harder foods. I like food crispy and spicy. Daily activities are hit and miss. They did have something everyday but could use some work. They also gave you participation tickets to spend on personal and beauty goods every month so more activities, more free stuff. 90% of staff treated me like an old friend and did beyond job description, especially in therapy. Some ladies will never be happy. I may need them again in the distant future as more long term and would have no problem going back.

My husband was recently a patient in the facility. He was recovering from Septic Shock due to a wound on his leg. The physical therapy department was FANTASTIC! The social worker was FABULOUS and the admissions person was GREAT as well. The most important part of the day to day care is horrendous. His first few days an aide dropped his leg off the wheelchair by grabbing it and pushing it off the chair. He was left on his bed for approximately 45 mins. completely naked with no cover at all. He had to throw a water bottle at the door another time for someone to answer his ring to get off the bed pan. His wound dressing continued to fall off and know one fixed it. His bed would go 2 days without being changed and this was after he was more mobile and sitting in a chair. When he was able to use a bedside toilet chair he got urine on the carpet and it was covered by a towel on the carpet and not cleaned until I scrubbed it myself on day 4 of his room smelling. Stool was left in the chair for 3 hrs until I arrived and dumped it. The weekends were even worse as he might not receive his clean up until a family member or myself would come in at about 4 pm. Nurses gave answers for wound care help was I'm going for a smoke so I'll write myself a note. NEVER WRAPPED! There are many more things that not only put him at risk for infection, but also humiliated him and made his living conditions unexceptionable. My husband is now home, but I think of those still there as either short term or long term and how they are being cared for.
