The nursing staff is so wonderful. Mom has been here a month and feels at home. She has enjoyed all the activities and loves the food. The C floor staff have been super helpful and caring.

My grandfather was moved to Heather Hill last year after being placed on hospice. I was nervous to have him in the care of strangers, but the nurses & aides quickly eased my concerns. They were so gentle with him, & kind to the family with all of our questions. Heather Hill made this terrible time in our lives just a little easier, I'll forever be grateful for the kind souls there.

You reviewers are really SICK to expect a nurse working with 20+ patients to answer a call light in 20 minutes and for what, water? Patient care is prioritized based on level of acuity. Are you that incompetent to understand a nurses and aide daily assignment and responsibilities? Take your family members HOME and let’s see how well you do. Places are severely understaffed and staff are trying they best with being burned out. But it’s family members that complain about the littlest thing that made me leave the nursing home world. Never again, y’all are ungrateful and pretend to care. When you really don’t care about your family until they PASS. The audacity of you all! ’

My Aunt Barb was recently at Heather Hill in Hospice, Chardon in Area E and I cannot thank the staff enough for the love and compassion they gave her during her last few months of life. I am also a nurse and can’t give them enough credit for the tough job of caring for the aging and dying. You have to be a special person and I just wanted to thank them for all they do. She was washed, repositioned, and was listened to by everyone there. It wasn’t easy at times when she was losing her mental capacity, yet they never wavered in her care. I was in Heather Hill for 8 weeks in February/March 2016 after becoming paralyzed from chest down. I had great care. And my therapists and all the other therapists were AWESOME. I made some great friendships during this time. The Aides that took care of me were awesome also. I would recommend Heather Hill to anybody.

I've worked at Heather Hill as an aide for over 9 years, both day shift and night shift, on all the floors, from long term to rehab, to dementia. I enjoy my job, I enjoy my coworkers, and most of all my residents. The management is on their game, scheduling has been great with even last minute changes for me, and they do their best to make us feel appreciated. The therapy department is wonderful. They really do a great job rehabilitating people. The nurses are always willing to jump in and help when the needs of the patients run high. If it was a bad place, you bet I wouldn't of stayed here as long as I have.

The facility is a little older than some of the others in the area but it is clean with a lot of private rooms. The food is excellent. The nurses and aides are very caring and do the best they can to make everyone have a great experience.

A year ago my mother was admitted into Heather Hill dementia unit. I can honestly say that a year later, she is in better health and more cognitive. The people at the center have been very compassionate, helpful and have provided great care of my mother. I recommend Heather Hill Chardon all of the time to my friends and clients.

better than average, but wish there was one out there that could raise the bar: Pros: The country setting is nice. The cleaning lady did a nice job everyday cleaning in the room. Linens were clean and ample. most of the staff were caring and friendly. The rehabilitation was appropriate, and the therapists were great. Cons: Takes an excessive long time for service calls for things needing repaired. Food was horrible...but edible. Very concerning that call light system only lights up...no sound. I personally feel that is a huge violation of basic safety in case of an emergency. That is something I would like to see changed...and even contemplated filing a complaint at a higher level like joint commission or CMS. Also at times would find my loved one waiting on commode excessively long time waiting for assistance...or a call light was not within reach at all.
