Our mom went here for rehab after a fall/fracture. Unbelievable that a loved one went in for rehab with one surgical site and came out with 2 undocumented pressure wounds which were immediately discovered upon mom's return to her Assisted Living. I don't think the staff even bothered to look for pressure wounds developing and just charted something different. Supposedly this is a highly rated facility. Think again and go in a different direction!

Actual care by staff was great! The managers upon discharge had notes regarding his career that I was not able to view because they were just notes that a I probably would not be able to read. They would get them to me. Waiting.

My loved one also left skilled rehab with pressure wounds! Supposedly they went unnoticed from reading the reviews, it must be a skilled thing.The owner was very unprofessional when responding to concerns- I think that resonated the most to me, an administrator/owner who lacked concern or compassion when responding to a family member with valid concerns, questions, and knowledgeable facts- I don’t know of any administrators of a healthcare facility who would respond the way this individual . Food was bland and unappealing. PT/OT was ok, they don’t really communicate with nursing. I really am baffled as to why this facility is rated 5 stars. This certainly wasn’t our experience.

My loved one went here for rehabilitation after surgery. This was more than a disappointing experience. Our loved one came out with documented bed sores that clearly no one cared to chart, and simply ignored…..although the chart states something differently. When brought to the attention of the owner, he was less than professional and retaliative to concerns. Do not take your loved one here in spite of their 5 star sign appeal- it’s only because they are not reporting things! Don’t fooled!

From Kensington, through Independent Living, to Long Term Care and Hospice, Anna Maria of Aurora enriched the last chapter of my father's life. Following illness and a couple of falls, and hospitalization at age 93, my dad who until then had been living independently and alone was sent to Kensington for rehab. The staff there nourished his body and soul, and got him up walking again. A field trip to look at the independent living apartments at Anna Maria had my dad seeing himself living there, and he followed up by moving from his own apartment into Anna Maria. This was like hitting the reset button, and he thrived in the community that welcomed him. He enjoyed the staff, and the company of his neighbors at dinner, in the caf©, and at many activities. Anna Maria became home, and expanded his circle of friends and extended family. He was cared about and looked out for, and I can't even express how much that reassured our family. Dad's new apartment and the common spaces at Anna Maria also made it easier for him to visit with family and outside friends that came to see him. At 94, after a mild stroke revealed a blood condition, my Dad returned from the hospital to long term care at Anna Maria. Anna Maria nurses, aides, and other staff partnered with Hospice to keep him comfortable in his final months. They got to know and take care of him like family, partnered with us- his actual family, in all things, and my dad loved and trusted them for their companionship and their care. This is not the place to name individuals, but in any case there were too many incredible, professional, caring members of the Anna Maria, that I couldn't possibly name them all. When my father passed, he- and we, were at peace. We are grateful to Anna Maria of Aurora for everything that made my dad's last chapter so fulfilling. Pictured is my dad standing by a refurbished 1931 Chevy at the Anna Maria Car Show. He and a number of friends shared ownership of a 1931 Chevy back in high school in Massillon.

It got better when we put in the camera with audio and video recording, because we could see what Mom needed and be better support for her, as well as personalize her care. For example, they were waking her up every two hours, EVERY night, to do a "check and change" of her brief, to keep her skin "safe" - however, it was making her loopy and we insisted they not wake her up, resulting in much better and coherent days (and her skin was fine). Also, the Reflections Memory Care, across the street at their sister facility, The Atrium, is the best - a must see first!

Sent there for rehab after reverse right shoulder surgery as UH did not have a facility nearer my apartment in Lyndhurst. Had my right arm in a sling the whole time. Needed help getting into bed and wearing support knee highs. Actually slept in my tee shirt and pull on pants the whole 2 weeks. Shared a room which held 2 people, separated by a curtain for the beds, wardrobe and bathroom. Very short staffed, you could wait 1/2 an hour in the bathroom after ringing, which happened on several occasions. Meals were often delayed, poor choices and often much was wasted. Did occasionally have bananas out during the day but certainly could have used some apples or healthier snacks in the basket. Servers were often unpleasant, slammed dishes down, and took time to just get you water and once again short staffed. Medication often brought during a meal. Never had a shower or hair wash or even a sponge bath in the 2 weeks that I had insurance. Received notice the day before I was supposed to leave which I appealed as I was no shape to go to my apartment alone. The appeal was granted for2 more weeks but l was not aware it was at a cost of $200.00 dollars a day! I received a bill for over $4,000 dollars about 2 weeks ago. I could never recommend this facility but was no given a choice after the surgery which was on September 16 and out after September 19.

Anna Maria was home to my aunt for over 10 years. She participated fully in the community in all phases of her time there. The residents and staff were her village. We couldn’t have asked for a more caring community for her to call home.

Anna Maria of Aurora has been an absolute blessing for our family! My 100-year-old grandmother has been living here for several years, and the care, compassion, and attention she receives are truly exceptional. The Kensington staff goes above and beyond to make her feel comfortable, safe, and loved every single day. They even threw a beautiful party for her on her 100th Birthday! The facility is clean, welcoming, and feels like home. They offer engaging activities that keep her spirits high and ensure she stays connected and happy. We couldn’t be more grateful for the kindness and professionalism of everyone at Anna Maria. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be treated like family and with dignity and respect, this is it!

My mom was in the SNF 2 weeks for rehab after being hospitalized. The therapy folks (PT, OT, SLP) were good, and the cleaning folks seemed to do a good job. However that's where the good part ends. The staff would wake her up at 3:30 am to get dressed. That's ridiculous at best. They never changed the sheets on her bed. They swapped out the top blanket but not the bed sheets. They didn't bring fresh water unless she asked. If she had to use the bathroom, it took at least 30 minutes for anyone to come to her room, so she went herself. That's unacceptable. The furniture wasn't put together. One chair was falling apart, the walls needed repair, and her room was cold. And finally, the place was under a COVID mask protocol, but the staff seemed to be exempt from it. Only a few staff wore masks. And some wore them down off their nose, making the mask useless. This sent a mixed message. Do I need a mask to walk around or not? If this place is a Medicare 5/5 facility, I would hate to see a 3/5 facility.

Nothing but praise for this well run, beautifully kept facility. Friendly, kind, and caring staff has made everything as simple as possible during times of transition, as well as daily. So glad we found this facility!

Our family appreciates the holistic care mom can access at Anna Maria-a place where family matters. Mom receives excellent medical care from highly skilled nurses and doctors. The rehab and therapy team are incredible! Everyone from the front desk, to the activities department, maintenance, cleaning staff, personal caregivers, social services and dietary.....everyone has mom's back and look out for her best interests. She has a blast enjoying an abundance of fun, socially engaging activities, loves the therapy dogs, and participates in religious services and bible study twice a week. The fact that mom's medical conditions are monitored closely every shift and that she is receiving good personal care gives me much peace of mind. Thank you Anna Maria!

My Mom was at Anna Maria for the final 2 1/2 years of her life. (97 1/2 to 100 years old) She was treated very well and made many friends. She was safe and taken care of and that was important to all of us. The staff did a good job of taking care of her. She played bingo, got her hair done every 2 weeks and her nails always looked beautiful. If she needed help with something, she got it. Thank you to the entire staff at Anna Maria. I would highly recommend Anna Maria to anyone looking for a place for themselves or for a loved one.

My dad has been in and out of nursing homes for the last year for rehabilitation. This facility hands down was the best by far. They were extremely attentive and on top of his rehab and wound care. I hope for his next trip in they will have room available!

Anna Maria of Aurora has to be one of the cleanest facilities around. When you walk in you're not hit with the awful smell associated with most places. The employees are very helpful and always willing to go that extra mile. I'm very glad my auntie is here as opposed to some of the other facilities.
