Having had the responsibility of finding a community for our loved one we were lucky enough to find Sunrise Assisted Living in West Babylon. Sunrise AL gives you the feeling of living in a big cozy house with an extended family. There are little niches where the residents can sit and relax, watch tv with friends, or just read a book. As for social activities there are many to choose from all day and it seems the residents all find something of interest to them. There are lots of choices for all meals and of course 24 hour snacks available. The apartments are clean and well cared for. The entire staff was amazing, always friendly, caring and helpful. It has left a lasting reminder of their kindness, patience and compassion for the elderly in our hearts. Thank you to everyone at Sunrise Assisted Living West Babylon for making our loved one and our family feel safe and secure.

My grandmother has been at Sunrise of West Babylon for a year. We couldn’t be happier with the care she receives. The entire staff is so pleasant and always helpful. Walking into the facility you get an immediate feeling of home. It’s decorated so beautifully and I am always greeted with kind words or a warm smile from staff members. If a problem ever comes up it is resolved quickly and efficiently! I never have to worry that my grandmother isn't being taken care of which was my number one concern. I can leave her with my piece of mind. I am so happy we found Sunrise when my grandmother was no longer able to care for herself.

My mother was a resident of Sunrise West Babylon for 2 1/2 years before her recent passing. She was a resident of the Reflections Community. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at this facility. Most specifically Corinne LaCorte and her entire staff, but the staff in the entire building was always pleasant and helpful. The residents in Reflection were always treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their status. I never worried that my mother was being neglected or not cared for. I miss my girls there...Deborah (angel), Isabella, Geraldine, Merlande, Valentina, Joan (angel), and the nurses Patricia and Laveda. I know I am missing names, but you get it! It is expensive, but it was the best money I ever spent for the wonderful care of my precious Mother.

I’ve been a volunteer at the West Babylon location for my local Catholic parish for about 5“7 years, serving once a week. So when my mom’s insurance gave us just two days’ notice for her discharge from rehab, and we weren’t prepared for her to transition home, I already had a place in mind. I was familiar with the facility and knew several of the employees, so it felt like an easy and natural decision. They offer a special program for people in situations like my mom’s. She was given a spacious, well-lit private suite with a large, handicapped-accessible bathroom (complete with a walk-in shower) and a separate kitchenette. They handled everything ” transferring her medication list, accepting delivery of her medical equipment from the rehab center, and arranging for nursing care and assistance at every level. She received three meals a day, snacks if she wanted, and a wide variety of well-organized activities planned by two lovely ladies, Lourdes and Vanessa. It was eye-opening to see the facility from the other side ” as the family of a resident, instead of just as a volunteer. Everything was spotless, the staff were friendly, and the meals offered multiple choices. Mom even got to choose her physician; she decided to see the in-house doctor instead of her own. They quickly got her pain under control and successfully weaned her off blood thinners prescribed at the rehab center. Within about five days, she had adjusted to the new environment. Physical therapy came on-site once or twice a week. They even have a fully equipped in-house hair salon, plus a happy hour with wine and cheese platters (for residents who are permitted wine). The nurses personally find each resident (being that they don't spend much time in their rooms) to give them their medications, ensuring everything is consistent and on time. I can honestly say I highly recommend Sunrise Nursing Home ” not just as a volunteer, but now as a family member who has experienced their care firsthand. If you’re considering them, I suggest taking a tour with Theresa. Tom, the general manager, Theresa, and the entire staff made sure my mom was comfortable, cared for, and heard ” not because I volunteer there, but because that’s how they treat everyone. As a funny aside, my sister and her fianc© accidentally went to the large facility east of Sunrise NH, when going to visit her one day. They said the two receptionists there seemed uninterested and a bit stuffy ” a stark contrast to the warm welcome we always receive at Sunrise from Liz and Ellen. Thank you to all at Sunrise for making my mom’s stay such a positive experience. Before she had fallen at home (the reason for the rehab admission in the first place), she'd been very depressed. She, my stepdad, and our family all agreed she returned home as an even better version of herself.

I moved an uncle to Sunrise Assisted in West Babylon because after a long rehabilitation at a Nursing Home, he was capable of much more, was lonely and needed more social interaction. My relative was very apprehensive about moving, and after getting there wanted to go back because he had gotten used to his previous living accommodations. However, the Sunrise staff was kind and welcoming to my uncle, and after a couple of weeks, he became more and more enamored of the place. He has really come into his own there thanks to their efforts, and is actively participating in activities, both in house and on field trips. He has made an effort to be helpful to the other residents and seems quite happy to be there! The community has a very homey feel to it, kind of like a New England Inn or Bed and Breakfast, and the staff are very diligent. For example, when there was an issue getting my Uncle's cable sorted out (he NEEDS his sports!), Sunrise was right on top of it and got it all squared away, with no fuss. It is always nice to realize one has made a good decision, and moving my uncle to Sunrise Assisted Living of West Babylon was definitely one of them.

Shout out to Sunrise West Babylon. We chose this assisted living because we felt the warmth as soon as we entered the building for our tour. We moved my mother in earlier this year and we couldn't be happier. She's made great friends, is eating more and it makes me so happy when I pause for a moment, before she knows I'm there to visit, and just watch her interact with the staff. Everyone that works there actually has a relationship with my mother - this went beyond my expectations. From Theresa to Sadia, Dina, the nurses - the entire staff has become my family's team of angels. Thank you Sunrise, for giving us peace of, taking such good care of my mother and giving us a place to call home.

A dear relative of mine is a new resident at Sunrise Assisted Living of West Babylon. My family and I are extremely pleased with the care he is receiving. Mr. Harty and all of the employees there create a compassionate, caring, and friendly community. The employees greet residents and visitors by name. Mr. Harty and all of the administrators are hands-on and are always available to meet with my family and me. Lourdes and Jennifer are the activities directors who keep the residents active and involved in fun activities. I highly recommend Sunrise of West Babylon for anyone considering such an assisted living facility for a loved one.

Bringing my mom to Sunrise of West Babylon was the best thing I could ever have done for her and has been a huge comfort to me. Thank you to Tom, Theresa and Elena for meeting with me initially, helping me tour the facility and making my mom feel welcomed. She could no longer be at home yet she is in a home like environment where she is treated like family. Every single team member treats her with respect and kindness and she is so well cared for. Nelsida is her main aide and always takes such great care of her, she is so sweet and kind. Rachel in activities will always try to encourage mom to attend events she thinks would interest her. The care managers Sadia and Jamal are so sweet with Mom and are always eager to help in any way that is needed. All the aides are wonderful and have all helped Mom at one time or another. Thank you to Mary, Anika, Pamela, Catherine, Cynthia, Celia and Wayne for your help and kindness! The concierge team members Ellen, Cheryl , Elena and Liz are so friendly and welcoming and are always willing to check on mom for me if I have any concerns or if she doesn’t answer her phone. The nurses Carmelita, Barbara, Patricia, Sandy, Kim and Sal give Mom the best care and will quickly address any concerns I may have. I cannot say enough great things about the team of Sunrise in West Babylon and am so grateful to be a part of the family!!!

My father, Frank Dellaquila, has been in Memory care since October. What makes Sunrise of West Babylon so special is how they truly preserve the dignity of each resident in the Memory Care Unit. Not only do they provide great care to the residents, but they ensure their families feel cared for too. Something that has helped me greatly is joining the support group started by Dorothy Obrycka and Corinne LaCorte. This group is led by Dorothy. Dorothy goes above and beyond to meet the needs of the residents and their families. Her kindness and compassion for people is unmeasurable. Dorothy puts her heart and soul into creating a beautiful atmosphere for families to gather to discuss their individual experiences. She provides information and educational materials to help families cope with this heartbreaking disease. (She also provides entertainment, which helps everyone unwind and enjoy time together.) I look forward to attending these meetings and spending time with all of the families at Sunrise. Thank you Dorothy and Corinne! The staff at sunrise of west Babylon are extremely dedicated to not only their residents but the residents families. I’m very grateful for all of the staff but especially to Dorothy and Corinne . They have started a support group for the dementia families to come and talk to others that are going through this horrible disease. Dorothy welcomes everyone and is so caring and supportive to all. I have joined the group and I am so blessed that sunrise has this support group.

My sister Rosemary is a resident at Sunrise of West Babylon. She has dementia and can’t live at home anymore. She is in the memory care unit. It is very difficult for me to see the changes in her but I realize she is in the best place possible at this stage of her life. In order to cope with the situation I joined a support group that is facilitated by Dorothy Obrycka. There we discuss all the trials and heartbreaking realities of living with someone with dementia. Dorothy and coordinator Corinne LaCorte guide us through trying to understand our plight and those of our loved ones. I am very grateful I have this group to rely on.

We cannot say enough nor stop singing praises about the wonderful care, kindness, compassion and concern the entire staff gives the residents in Memory care. Now we have been blessed with a Support Group for families called "Lean on Me!" This was facilitated by Dorothy Obrycka LEM and powered by Corinne LaCorte.The families get to share their heartaches, fears, and experiences in dealing with their love ones suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia. Since each of our loved ones are at different stages in the progression, we can share our experiences within the group and encourage, support, and uplift one another. We laugh and cry and learn how to get through the difficult times. This is done in a beautifully decorated Dining Room setting with food and beverages. The level of patience and compassion given to our love ones is now extended to all of us as well through this Support Group. These meetings have already had a positive impact on each one of us. Thank you Dorothy and Corinne for the help and support you are providing to the families of your residents suffering from Dementia and Alzheimers.
