Although we did not chose Sage Harbor, Sally and the peogram team spent time, knowledge, support and care to us as we were exploring places. I think Sage Harbor is a great place and we would have been comfortable having her there and I would recommend your program to others to explore.

Sage Harbors memory care section requires you to stay actively involved. You cannot assume everything will be handled. You have to be paying attention and constantly advocating for your loved one's needs. The staff generally mean well, but they're often busy or otherwise distracted. So it's important to follow up on care plans, and daily routines. With regular visits and communication, your loved one can do well here, however, it takes effort and vigilance on the family's part.

It was necessary for my husband to go to assisted living over a year ago. I’m glad I chose Sage Harbor. Everyone (receptionist, aids, administration, residents etc ) helped him to adjust and he is comfortable there, I dont worry about him while I travel. The room, food, care, etc are excellent. We had an incident where he was ill - I can’t say enough how caring the staff was in taking care of him. Thanks Baywinde

My aunt was living in a senior living apartment at a different facility that was absolutely not the right fit for her. It was maze-like and stressful and full of unhappy employees. We knew we had to get her out fast but wanted to make sure we found somewhere wonderful for her! As anyone who has been through this process knows, it is such a hard decision! We toured multiple assisted living homes within the WNY area and from the moment we walked in Baywinde, we had such a good feeling and knew it was where she would thrive. She was understandably extremely anxious about the move, but she was welcomed with open arms and made to feel so loved. Ben (the health and wellness director), especially went out of his way to help her feel comfortable with coming and everyone has been so good about communicating with us as she settles in and adjusts. There are so many activities every day which is where Baywinde shines. She has been there about two months now and attends as many activities as she can and her anxiety is almost completely gone. Thank you so much Baywinde!

We couldn't be happier with Baywinde for our family member. The administration and staff are responsive and available for questions and support -- very different from the previous senior living facility we had tried. Nearly everyone who visits our family member remarks upon the friendliness, patience, and kindness of the staff. Living areas are spotlessly clean and bright, and activities are varied and fun for all (even visitors!). Most of all, it's clear that the people at Baywinde genuinely care for residents. Our family member is thriving!

After two years of caring intensively for my sister and seeing her continued health decline, we knew it was time to look for a new home where she would receive a structured and supportive environment. My sister was agreeable to this option and that she needed more than we could continue offering. I knew that loved ones often suffer exhaustion and health concerns of their own while caring for a family member. We had even hired two aides to provide care and allow us respite, but it was not enough. My sister had lived in the same home all her life, so this was not an easy decision, but becoming a desperate necessity for us all. Upon visiting five other assisted living facilities in the Rochester area, my son and I were equally impressed and comfortable with everything we saw in Sage Harbor at Baywinde. We felt warmth, friendliness and inclusion as we walked around, meeting some staff and other residents. Everyone we met seemed comfortable and content to be here. The environment inside and out was homey and aesthetically pleasing. We were also really pleased with other levels of care available right in the same campus, in case my sister's health needs increased. Upon viewing one of the rooms available to my sister, my son and I were immediately pleased with the pleasant space, privacy and her own bathroom! In other places, my sister would have had to share a communal bathroom and shower, which we did not find amenable for her. At the end of our lovely tour, my son and I agreed that this just felt RIGHT. Not an easy feat, as we had different viewpoints on so many other things! After discussing everything on the ride home, we decided to accept this opportunity and have NOT regretted our decision! My sister has now resided here for ten months and is content and comfortable. It was initially a difficult change for her, but she now has several friends and communicates her needs with staff independently. With all new doctors and revisement of her medicines, her health is more stable. She has Baywinde transportation to activities and some of her appointments, so she has some independence from our support. Even though we are still frequently present and supportive in her life, we no longer feel fearful for her health and safety. My sister happily participates in activities each day, including her quilting passion. Her nutrition is healthy now and she takes care in her grooming and appearance. This is what Sage Harbor at Baywinde has provided: a new healthy, happy, social and secure environment for my sister and peace for us all. Thank you Baywinde!

I was warmly greeted by Sally Cramer. We discussed living options for a friend looking for an assisted living studio. As she showed me the available studios, I met the maintenance man cleaning one and he was very personable. Sally also showed me a lovely one bedroom in independent living at Castle Pointe. Sally answered all my questions and was responsive to my phone calls.

If you decide to have a parent reside at Baywinde, know that they increase your rent yearly at 5% Why? You are already paying a costly premium to live there. Plenty of landlords do not raise rents by 5% every year. Who gets a raise, at their job, of 5% every year? Do any of our bank accounts earn 5% per year? This adds up greatly to the point where you feel overcharged and ripped off. DO THE MATH ! If this is a senior living community, you would expect to live there until your time. This isn't the case. It could become unaffordable and over budget for your family. It did for ours. We had no choice but to move Mom out after her living there for only three years. This was painful for our Mom. She had made many good friends there. Come to find out they lose many other residents for just this reason. - Being priced out. Very sad. What appears to be a loving-home community for your parent, is actually big business. Their services and staff are terrific. The place is clean and well kept. But please be aware....5% per year, every year adds up greatly. Good luck.

Best choice in our area for our parent. The collective energy here is very positive among guests and staff alike. Many activities and services provided, apartment choices, and areas for both rest and recreation. I don't understand the negative reviews. Food is top grade, with professional chefs preparing simple to gourmet meals with input from guests.

Nice facilities with friendly staff. Very clean. Laundry service, housekeeping services, medications delivered to your room, medical staff on site, 3 meals with options(the food is the only thing I've heard complaints about), events and music regularly, several pianists and group singing for anyone who'd like to join with words provided, good sized rooms and bathrooms. No complaints from me. S pacious sitting rooms, eating hall, puzzles, games, bus trips. Seems pretty nice here.
